I was just wondering what peeps thought of the animes on Kids WB. Ya know -- Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokemon, and Teen Titans. I watch them, some for the show, other cuz they're just there to watch in the morning...

Yu-Gi-Oh! I'm actually a huge fan of. Not really the saga on right now (the Noah one) but I like all the rest of it. >.<;; I really think it should have some romantic twists in it, though. Cuz even tho ppl make up their own couples from characters on the show there aren't any real relationships becasue the show was supposed to focus on friendship. At least in the american dubbed version that's how it is.

Pokemon I used to love till I couldn't love it anymore. But now it's just gotten old and it repeats stuff over and over again. But I still watch it just for laughs and beacause it's anime. Plus it's one of the only good things on in the mornign while I'm waiting for Yu-Gi-Oh! to come on. But I still like to watch the movies, too. ^^''

Teen Titans I watch because I think it's funny. I didn't know it was anime at first because I remember Robin being in Batman, which is an anmerican cartoon. So I thought it was a show like Totally Spies - an anime impersonator. But I found out later that it really was anime. It didn't matter cuz I watched it anywayz, but I do like it a little more knowing I'm not watching a cheep imatation!

Uh, neither Totally Spies nor Teen Titans is an anime. As far as I know, TS was made in France or something. But I could be wrong on that. But I do no it's not an anime. But yes, it did try to sceme on the anime flavor.

Teen Titans is an American cartoon, done by our own Warner Brother's studio. The same that produced the original Batman, Superman, Justice League, Batman Beyond, etc.

So that leaves Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh. And most of us Femmes sure love our Yu-Gi-Oh. Some of us cosplayed as the characters last year! But Pokemon, eh. It's really boring. Every episode is the same--just like Scooby-Doo. Those meddling kids....

I'd have to agree on Pokemon, although I enjoyed some of the old eps. Yu-Gi-Oh, I still watch it at times, but the love has decresed. :D Not that there's anything wrong with the bishies.

Teen Titans....me and my brother had an arguement on that. He downloaded it so he could prove to me on the credits that it wasn't anime. Though, I'd've swarn the makers of it had to have watched anime to come up with those chibi scenes...

Buncha anime wannabes is what they are!!!!! They saw how popular it had become so they wanted to try it out. Here's what me 'n' my friends said when it first came out while on 3-way:

"They did pretty good, but we could do better! There's no bishies and the BG is nothing like that in anime, ya know, resembling REAL art. And it's just a frickin' rip-off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *Starts yelling and laughing*"

Now, I am going to express my opinion:

First, there is more to Anime that just Bishies and backgrounds. Anime is nothing more that Japanese animation. There is no need for Bishies, or great backgrounds, they are not a prerequisite for having anime. Granted they are preferred for some people, mainly girls (in the case of the bishie) which I won't ever understand. There are SOOOO many people out there who claim to be 'hardcore otaku' and, yet, they pretty much refuse to watch anything that isn't "pretty"

Second, it seems to me that these same people previously mentioned above (don't think I am targeting any of you, I am not, this is just my opinion, if you just so happen to it into the categories I am listing, then I am sorry) also seem to watch shows just because it IS anime. Let's take Teen Titans, there was this dude here at work who was all about the anime. He came in one day a couple of months ago saying how much he loved Teen Titans and how it is a great anime. I corrected him saying that it was not an anime. a week or so later, I overhear him talking to someone else saying how much he Hated Teen Titans and that it was a stoopid show. this is what is called, a sellout. Someone who likes things only because they feel that it lies within a certain category, in this case...anime.

Third, shows like Pokemon...which is a great game and one of the first RPG's to have that battle system...are made because their base (video game) is intensly popular and the people behind it are wanting more money. So they make a cartoon. The show does well because 1) the game was so popular and 2) people assume that it must be good because it is anime. There are several shows like this...take Zoids for instance. I remember when I was younger...early nineties...I had some Zoids toys *starts singing jungle...first you build them, then Bring them LIFE!!* in fact I still do! But as the years went by. I forgot the name of the toys. Then, a year or two ago, I saw this CGI-Anime called Zoids. and I thought it was kinda fun, didn't even realize what it was I was watching, until I saw the two Zoids that I own. Now, 10-15 years ago, these toys were very popular. and that popularity carried out over years and it created this new show. And there are people watching it today without ever realizing that it started out over 10 years ago. there may have been a show back then, I honestly don't know. If there was, it wasn't here. BUT...umm...I really have no idea what I am saying anymore...I think I have at least made some sort of point.

I think all in all, I am saying that if you are going to watch a show, watch it because you like it. and not because others are watching it. Hell...if I did that, I never would have seen First of the North Star!! *holds up his copy* :ph43r:

I agree with P-Chan for the most part.
Anime is a genre just like any other. I like shows for what they are, not the style their done in. A good show is a good show and a crappy show is a crappy show, even if the merchandise is what sells it.
For example: Pokemon was good for a while, but then it went down hill really fast when they started halting the story developement for a couple dozen episodes at a time.
Zoids is a good example too (and yes I also remember the old Zoids models, I have a T-Rex lookin' one). Zoids: Chaotic Century was a nice, intense, story driven series (kinda like Gundam). Zoids (the one they played on Toonami) was more of the "new battle every episode" deal that focused on cool battles, new Zoids, and very little developement and got annoying after the second time through. And they kinda cut off Zoids Fuzors on Toonami so I can't really say too much about it.
And I don't really care if Teen Titans is anime or not. I just think it's funny.
If you ask me people need to stop focussing on what the shows are and start actually WATCHING the shows.

I like Yu-Gi-Oh! It's awsome! I play the card game and Dungeon Dice and I have lots of posters and a wall scroll and a few modles and some action figures. Go Yami Bakura!!!!!!!!!

I don't care if its not an anime Teen Titans is an awesome show! My sister is obsessed with Pokemon still, and Yu-Gi-Oh is okay. Zoids rocks too!! I can't believe they cut it off the air even in the mornings. :( I knew it started along time ago but not over ten years, wow.

I love TT all of the others mentioned above. There's just one anime out of the many I've watched that I don't like... Reign the Conquerer

Oh! I love TT!!! It's getting sorta boring now, tho.... TS Has been showed over and over a little too many times, but i did like it when they first started showing it.
Yu-Gi-Oh is a good show too... No doubt about the bishies... Shaman King is a good show. When i'm there to watch it I definitely do. :P Pokemon has definitely lost it's... um...flavor... If that's even a good way to put it. I still watch it sometimes. The pokemon games are fun. My brother just got Pokemon Colloseum [sp?] and so far it looks pretty cool. He wont let me play it, tho. *evil! mutters to self*

I don't know about any one else, but that show, "Ultimate Muscle" bugs me. I always want to change the channel when it's on... <_< grrrr.... Is that on the WBkids or not?

I watch Yu-Gi-Oh, but it's not one of my absolute faves - probably because the dub isn't all that great. The voices are fine, it's the dialoge that gets a little tiresome from time to time. I mean, doesn't anyone else ever get the urge to snap at them, "Shut up and play already!"? The guys are cute, though; except Tristan desperately needs a new haircut, he could stab someone to death with that hair!! ;)
I got bored with Pokemon a while back, though I will always think Pikachu is adorable! Teen Titans - funny, fun, but needs stronger plots, quick, but it self-destructs! P-chan was right, it's silly to like something just because it's anime, and I'm very grateful I don't do that. I like something because I like the story, the characters, the art (not totally important), and the music! And that's just the basics. Bishies aren't necessary for us to like a show, but they're a nice plus to have! Right, girls?

Is samuri jack anime? Its not quite I dunt think but whats really cool is the back rounds are hand painted! Thats one of the best parts...but its just really good. what bout Big-O? I think its ok but it is kinda boring to see the robot come out of the grounf then go back in....it just gets boring but I like that theres a cyborg in it and that he always wears black...its hilarious! Oh wait i was just thinking samuri jack isnt on wb so forget that.... :huh:

Did anyone else catch the Yugi cameo in Simpsons week before last? Yes, I'm serious! Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Milhouse went down to the library to get some books for reports the kids had to do, but there were hardly any books left, everything was on tape, but one of the few paper things left were "Yu-Gi-Oh Pricing Guides", and there was a poster of Yami-Yugi drawn Simpsons style. It was kinda odd, but funny!
