Description: Like it says!

Yay, I figured out how to log in! But this stupid board doesn't give me free roaming around this place yet. Maybe that's a good thing since I'm kinda of an idiot when it comes to message boards :D <-- My stupid smile
So now, I'm just gonna post like crazy because I know I'm going to forget again. That's the way I am. So we've got this cool topic right here and I'm so surprised none of the other Femmes have gotten in on it. When it comes to knowing what's coming out, we are l33t. Well, maybe I'm not so l33t. Everyone tells me the knews that they find out so I just simply know. But there's lots of great stuff heading our way or has come out just recently. Christmas is definately in the summer this year.
We recently got the first volume of Full Metal Panick out in June. And anyone who hasn't seen it yet, should. I HIGHLY reccomend this one. Especially if you're a Gundam Wing fan. If you like Gundam Wing, I'm sure you'll love this one.
Pet Shop of Horrors the manga was just released. Yay for TokyoPop! I luv you! *huggles her manga* I was so stoked when I saw this anime and very saddened there were only four stories animated. I wanted more so baddly. And now we're finally getting it! I love volume one! It's now my favorite manga. Monty Python rabbits and pet bishounen beat out Mars for me any day. Yay for PSoH! If you like gorey and wierd stuff, you'll like this. Think Gremlins.
Also, we've got sCRYed coming to us the 17th of July. Another anime I highly reccomend. It's got a cool plot and stellar fight scenes. The style and the animation is just gorgeous. sCRYed is definately up there as one of my favorite anime of all time. I must see for any true Otaku.
Lastly, No-Chan has found out for us that the Fruits Basket manga has now been bought and we'll finally be getting that in English. Oh, glorious Fruits Basket! How we all love you here at Fem-Gri-La! I don't think we know when it's going to be released yet, but it's definately something to look for.
And that is anime and manga news from Ty-Chou. Go me! :D
kiaraiskiara - July 5, 2003 02:05 AM (GMT)
YES THANK YOU!!! Can't wait till Fruba manga comes to the US. But... isn't wierd that we got the anime BEFORE the manga? I'm pritty sure it was there first, maybe im wrong... but to me it's just weird... is it that we are such a TV oriented society that Fruit's Basket wouldn't have been popular otherwise? Personally i'm more of a manga fan... I don' know why!
Oh: Demon Diary (1 of most fav mangas) manga 2 is being released on the 8th... It's not really a known manga
Well, good luck manga hunting, no da! ^_^

*laughs* I already have all the Fruits basket manga untranslated *dies* It'll be fun to see how Tokyo pop does though, I'm willing to buy a couple volumes and all if it's good. *nods* I'm a release date informer for a few web pages, so if you ever need to know any I'm always here :D
Yay! I liked the Full Metal Panic manga better, I'm not sure what it was ^^
*jumps around* Yay!
kiaraiskiara - July 6, 2003 09:57 PM (GMT)

And the Get Backers Manga is coming too! Yay for Get Backers! Viz has the anime and manga of Flame of Recca..Yay!! And Viz has the anime and manga for Hikaru no Go! YAY!!! Yes, it is go as the game....but it is really good, give it a chance. When I was first introduced to Hikaru no Go, I thought "....eh? Go?.....why do i want to read this?" Ok, so that night I went home and read the cd of scanlations I was given, I had to make myself go get away from the computer and go to bed at 2:30 in the morning. I started reading about 8 or 9. Then the next morning, forget breakfast I went back and read some more! So give it a chance when it comes out, it is GREAT!!!

no problem, Check out the right stuf website, they might have some info for you. About release dates. If not, you can always email them, they might answer you!
I just barely saw Gravitaion and I liked it more than I thought I would. Hiro is the best! Mr. K is very resourceful may I add. And Touma...well he IS Quatre from GW. I loved the music, wouldn't mind having that soundtrack....

Youkai-chan - August 3, 2003 02:14 PM (GMT)
Oh well I just look forward to seeing it
kiaraiskiara - August 3, 2003 03:10 PM (GMT)
I saw it at the con, subtitles though...
Youkai-chan - August 3, 2003 03:12 PM (GMT)
Subtitles make no diffrence to me sometimes I evene prefer them cause the dubbings are really bad <_<
Kawaii_Neko - August 3, 2003 11:58 PM (GMT)
Yeah, With Rurouni Kenshin there's hardly a difference between the dub and the original, while with Yu-Gi-Oh!, 99% of the dialog was changed when they dubbed it. Did you know that in the scene where Bakura pulled out Pegasus's Millenium Eye, there was originally a lot of blood? That's what I read anyway...
nie-chan - August 4, 2003 07:57 AM (GMT)
of course the blood would have to be edited out. Look at the time slot Yu-Gi-Oh is in. Saturday mornings = aimed for kiddies. Blood rules on tv...how does this go, if it splurts in away it is removed, coughed up it is removed, but they will allow blood to flow as long as it stays on the person. But, that is pretty much the rule for cable i.e Cartoon Network. Non-cable channels are much stricter. So I'm not surprised that they edited it.
I actually heard at a con-report awhile back, they said they might release the unedited versions of YGO, but I don't know if that is going to happen. It all depends on demand. Especially since they marketed the show to kiddies.
I love Rurouni Kenshin! And I actually like the dub for it. But, I didn't watch it on tv so I have only read about the edits and stuff for that show.

Pan Pan - August 4, 2003 05:13 PM (GMT)
personally i thought it was much funnier in Yu-Gi-Oh that they edited out the guns! Pegasus' goons are running around looking for Kaiba and when they find him, how do they threaten him? They point... not a gun, but their FINGER at him! oooh scary!
I was a little sad at the lack of blood on Kenshin too... but hey, there's always the dvds... personally i like the japanese track better anyway. and yah, Pan Pan is always sad when there is a lack of blood... so sad...
~Pan Pan
nie-chan - August 4, 2003 08:25 PM (GMT)
 LOL, yeah that is funny when they point fingers and everyone is soooooo threatened!~
~nie-chan
Kawaii_Neko - August 5, 2003 05:27 PM (GMT)
Lol, yep! I wanna see the Jap version though. So far, I've only seen a couple episodes, and those sites that say how they edited things. *sniff sniff* I wanna see the spurting blood! (jk)
Youkai-chan - August 6, 2003 01:41 PM (GMT)
The blood can be fun cause in the un-edited version of gundam wing they got rid of blood too like when Heero blows himself up he doesn't just lie on the ground no the ground is covered in blood.
hie-chi - December 19, 2003 12:19 AM (GMT)
i only own inuyasha manga and thats the only anime i watch.......it's hard to find any thing else where i live. :(
Pan Pan - May 11, 2004 06:59 AM (GMT)
*weep* the FullMetal Alchemist anime has been licensed... I don't know if i should be happy that it'll be available in the states or sad because i can't download it for free anymore... :( it'd be really cool if it were on tv i suppose... but they'd probably edit it tons and tons and... that'd just be really sad...

Pan Pan - May 11, 2004 07:40 AM (GMT)
http://ps2.ign.com/articles/513/513178p1.html here's the official article thingy... Funimation has the rights to it... FUNIMATION.... they freakin' better not screw it up.... it's going to air this fall on Cartoon Network... *rolls eyes* i can just see it now... Scott McNeil as Edward Elric... Eric Vale as Roy Mustang... the guy that did Goku as Maes Hughes... (no, these aren't the real voices... but just the thought of it is haunting, no?) ugh....
~Pan Pan
nie-chan - May 11, 2004 06:27 PM (GMT)
It's good because now all the people responsible for making it are getting money.
This fall? So hopefully the DVDs won't be too far behind.. .and if it's on tv that USUALLY means the DVDs are cheaper. Just remember, if the dub is bad then on the DVDs you can watch it in Japanese!
Just keep telling yourself... this is good... this is a good thing... oh wait but that means you are stuck where you are then (on the episode count), huh?
Pan Pan - May 11, 2004 06:52 PM (GMT)
yeah, it's good that it'll be here, but i'm just worried about a funimation dub... i'm hoping it'll at least be on Adult Swim so they won't have to edit it as much... <_<
oh um... yeah.... i'll be stuck where i am on the episodes... *looks around suspiciously* 'cause of course there aren't fansubbers out there that would actually keep subbing it after licensing... *cough* because that would be wrong... *cough cough* pity...
