Title: How Do I Love Thee?
Description: Is there a method to your madness?

tYCHou - October 11, 2003 08:02 PM (GMT)
Time for a new bishounen topic yet? Or, more specifically, a SPECIFIC topic about bishounen?

So I've got a question for you. Has anyone noticed that they seem to be attracted to a certain type of bishounen? Do they all have the same type of looks or personality? Or do those pesky bishounen seem to hit your heart at random?

Take a look at your list of favorite bishounen. What do you think?

Hammer_Gal - October 11, 2003 08:07 PM (GMT)
tYChou, you may have a point. Me, I sorta go for the goof-ball, hero type peeps. With a few exeptions. Yay, Sesshy-chan!

*cough* Sorry. Got a little caried away there...
But seriously, I like those types. Bit, Kenshin, Joey... all the hero types!

Wow, I actually discovered a pattern! :D

Ry-chan - October 12, 2003 12:16 AM (GMT)
Hmm..well, now that I think about it a lot of me bishes have somewhat of a sad past or something like that. Nephlite and Valgarv for instance, both have sad storys. Nephlite starts out as a bad guy but in the end he dies protecting the one he loves & Val watched his entire race be killed right before his eyes...ah, I'm rambling on too much. Well anywho, I'd have to say that I have this lil habbit for falling for bishies with sad storys, that's all

Kawaii_Neko - October 12, 2003 01:47 AM (GMT)
Most of my faves tend to have pretty hair and sad pasts.
Examples:

Yami Bakura: Sure, he seems like he's just an evil nutcase, but he has a reason! Back in Eygpt, when Yami Bakura was eight, his whole village's flesh were melted to create the Millenium Items! And my poor baby wittnessed it! Ever since then, he's been out to get all the Millenium Items because he feels they're rightfully his. Plus he went insane.

Ryou Bakura: I think Ryou is a target for bad luck. He's an orphan, wierd things happen to him involving his friends falling into comas, and to make it worse, he owns the Millenium Ring, in which dwells an evil spirit (Yami Bakura) that posesses him and kills people. Oh yeah, and he always gets hurt. Always.

Inuyasha: Almost everyone know's this, but Inuyasha was a poor hanyou who everyone hated and all, but he falls in love with Kikyo and her him, and the demon Naraku tricks them into betraying each other and they both die and it's sad! Whoa... that was all one sentance!

See? They all are like that!

Pan Pan - October 12, 2003 06:50 AM (GMT)
heh... that's a good question... I guess I'd have to say the "crazies" since that's my room, but usually it's pretty random. I mean um... well... maybe not, 'cause i do tend to like those funny pervy/girl crazy ones for some reason... (Gojyo, Kurz, Irvine, Dark, Haru, Touga etc...) but i do also like the "hero types" (Fakia, Van, etc...) anyway... dunno, usually they fit into one of those catergories i suppose...

~Pan Pan

kitsune_yurei - October 12, 2003 12:36 PM (GMT)
Hmm...never thought about this kind of questions...I guess I like the ones that's been involved with "darkness", or bad pasts... I shall summarize! (since I have nothing to do)

Killua: He was an assasin. Need I to explain more?

Kurapica: His whole tribe was killed because they had "pretty red eyes." (gotta read the series to understand) now he hates spiders. :P

Tao Ren: I Dunno...he was tortured as a kid...

Hao: He's supposed to be the evil bad guy...;_; he DIED!

Kenshin: well...he killed people *takes sword* hack, hack, hack...heh...

Kougaiji: He's also an evil bad guy....

but then...Goku defies pretty much all I said...his demon form kills, but thats normal...I need to go figure this out...

Siri - October 12, 2003 06:26 PM (GMT)
Well.....let's see....

Miroku- I dunno. It's just he's cute and perverted. Yes weird as it is I find that attractive. Maybe it's cause i'm a hentai too. *shrugs* who knows. Be sides..he is rather smart.

Inu-Yasha- come on! Do I hafta explain this one....he's smart, cute, funny...and THOSE EARS!! *runs over to Inu-Yasha and starts to pet his ears.*

I: stay away from me....

M: HEY!! BACK TO ME!! I'M JEALOUS!

S: anyways...moving on.

Shippo- again...to I need to explain this one? nope...don't think so.

Tenchi- cute, all the girls are falling over him. And he's smart.

Pattern? Uhhh...well 'til ya get to Tenchi, they're all from Inu-Yasha. Miroku and Tenchi have the cute ponytail going on...hehe And Inu-Yasha has the ears.

Shinoco_Jaganshi - October 13, 2003 02:38 PM (GMT)
Shinoco: i say ther is no method to the guys i like....its totally random!

Shun: yea right Shinoco......

Shinoco: shut your trap Andromeda!!

Shun: you shut yours Shinoco!!

Shinoco: i am going to end this....bye!

Ry-chou - October 13, 2003 02:58 PM (GMT)
there IS an order to the madness!

I like the ones that go all blushy around girls, like Yuhi from Ceres, the ones that die, and the ones that are hentai!

And a sob story that can make me cry. That ALWAYS gets me. Like Nuriko from Fushigi Yuugi, and Chichiri! Their sob stories make you go 'aww!' and cry. And the baddies. I love the baddies.

O.o' looking back, i realize that there IS no order to the madness! That pretty much covers all the bishounen there are, with the exception of the feminine ones. And Nuriko is one of those, so. . . there you go! Maybe i love them all. . .?

~Ryuu

tYCHou - October 15, 2003 06:36 PM (GMT)
For myself, I've actually looked and analyzed all around trying to figure out if there's a formula for me, but I seem to like bishis at random.

Physically, all the fems know I really go for bishis wearing glasses at first sight. That's kind of where I got my love for Tatsumi from Yami no Matsue. Yes, the one I stalk. *waves* Hi Tatsumi! I KNOW where you ARE!

Tatsumi: <_<

But I don't just like him for that, I also love the fact that even though he's a stickler for rules, a pencil pusher, and the only one who knows how to use the copy machine, he's still the biggest badass at the office. How did you guys like your still beating hearts handed to you by a nerd, huh? Tatsumi will even put that in some tuperware and you can take it home with you if you'd like! That's right!

Shigure from Fruits Basket also got me with the glasses. But I love him for his sneakyness. Don't underestimate it.

But take Sasami from Pretear. He wears glasses and he's a total babe in them. But, he's also a big dork and I really don't like him all that much so that rules the glasses theory.

Next, I tried to say that I really like bishounen who are tough. Because I don't like pansies. I like my men to act like men and not go prancing around. Like Kazuma and Ryuho from sCRYed. Man, they're hot! Though I would actually prefer Kazuma over Ryuho because I love his personality. He's so stubborn and careless. I really like that about him for some reason.

And again, after I say I like manly men, I remember how much I love Hotohori from Fushigi Yuugi who is often mistaken for a chick. Then, I recently got into GetBackers and now I'm also totally adoring Kazuki. He's so freaking cool! And he's way feminine. (who is played by the same voice actor who does Kazuma! How wierd is that!) I also love his friend Jubei--but for a different reason. Jubei takes his shirt off all the time and dang, that boy has a body! *fans herself*

And speaking of bodies, we can't forget Aoshi. Most of the bishounen I like seem to have a softer side somewhere--whether they're hiding it or not. Not Aoshi. He just stands around and looks hot while talking smack to everyone and then laying a beat down. Same with Seto Kaiba. Though he does have his little brother and Aoshi has Misao.....I dunno.

Well, I need to take a break from talking about all these hot guys before I go into overload. Cold shower for Ty-Chou!

NansJns - October 15, 2003 09:34 PM (GMT)
 Hmm, do I have a pattern? *ponder, ponder*... long hair...I definately have a thing for guys with long hair...but that's certainly not absolute. I loathe Nakago from FY, despite how hot he is. I totally love Hotohori, though. I like Tasuki, 'cause of his attitude and great hair...and Tamahome, and Chichiri, and Nuriko, 'cause of their personalities and handsome faces, and hair.

I also really love Goku, Gohan, and Goten, 'cause they're so handsome/cute and sweet. I love Vegeta, because he has that whole sexy bad-boy thing going, but at the same time grows and changes throughout the series and loves his family with all he is. Trunks - need I say more? Purple haired hottie!

Inu Yasha -hair again, and those cute little ears, and his sad story. :( Miroko has his moments, and so does Sesshomaru (love the hair, once again! And he's taking care of a human child, so there's hope for him.) Shippo is too cute for words, but he's a kid.

Tuxedo Mask is nifty, handsome and always to the rescue. Loyal and sweet, to boot.

One of my first loves, Larva from Vampire Princess Miyu, doesn't even talk much, but he's so pretty, and dangerous in a fight, and he cares for Miyu so much. . . Ah! There might be a pattern! They're all handsome, have hair I like, and nearly all of them love some one! All of the ones I like have at least one, usually two, of those qualites! Oh! Oh! They usually have wonderful eyes, too! I'm. . .not really narrowing the field, am I? Oh well...;)

Kitsune kitty - October 18, 2003 04:01 AM (GMT)
Hmmm...I've thought about this before, but I could never think of anything. I pretty much love them all!

Well, theres Duo. He's just a goofball, but he also knows how to take things seriously. But then I also like Heero, who is pretty much almost the opposite of Duo. There's just something about them thats so appealing. :P

Then there's Shigure. He's just so sweet! How he loves to talk to :cough cough make fun of cough cough: Kyo and Yuki and the younger people and he gives some good advice...in his own way. But he still is so funny!

Kurama is sweet and smart but a pretty good fighter, too. I guess I like the smarter ones. Like Hatori! Now, if we could only conquer that smoking problem...

Then there's Kenshin. Both him and Heero have that whole extremely dangerous killer thing. I like 'em dangerous. :ph43r: :D

Well, I could keep on going on and on, but i think i have already established the fact that my madness is purely mad. ^-^

Kawaii_Neko - October 18, 2003 04:08 AM (GMT)
I loooove Kurama! May his bishie-ness be known by all! *bows to the great Kurama-ness*

hanyou-kagome - October 19, 2003 08:47 PM (GMT)
I just get hit randomly, unless of course, well wait no they have the same hair color, but than again....yeah its all random, but hey who can resist Inuyasha, his eyes and those ears, Sesshomaru and his seemingly expressionless lifestyle? and than there is of course Shigure and Tenchi and....*sighs* so many more.....*grins and floats off into bishie wonderland* well I didn't have to go to far to get to bishie wonderland now did I? ;)

Hammer_Gal - October 19, 2003 10:30 PM (GMT)
Wow, looks like we all loves the sad-past-oh-so-cool-untochable types. And long hair! Cant forget long hair! Yay!

As I told my mom onces as I was reading a Flame of Recca graphic novel...
(flashback)

K:*flips to picture of Recca* See mom? You cant get men like that in the real world!

(end flashback)

 Yeah..thats the whole reason we went into this bisness, right? Cuz ya cant get our men in the real world! MUAHAHAHA!!!

Raven: Oh D.S....time for your medicen!
D.S.: That medicen's not mine! Its Naraku's!
Raven: So?
D.S.: He has a higher level of crazyness!
Raven: I seriously doubt that.
Naraku: *dancing by with underwear on his head* La la la la!! No meddie for me nosirree!!
D.S.: See!
Raven:Uh-huh.. Just hold still.
D.S.: Never! *takes out giant mallet*

Kago - October 21, 2003 02:28 AM (GMT)
If anything, this thread proves my theory...
Fangirls are all raving Lunatics.

kitsune_yurei - October 21, 2003 09:55 AM (GMT)
no, actually.... were paranormal, insane, crazy, phsyotic, bishounen-luvin lunatics. get it right.

nie-chan - October 21, 2003 03:23 PM (GMT)
lunatics?

oh yes some of them are. And those are the ones that we make fun of!

Any fandom you have a degree of "fan love" I'll call it. I'm only listing three, and there are degrees even in these three:

1. you have your casual fan. Enjoys talking to other fans, but isn't quite obsessed. This fan can carry on normal conversations not involving the certain fandom.

2. alot more obsessed than the casual fan, can leave a normal life but can find it hard to talk about other things than the fandom.

3. completely obsessed. It is all they talk about. They may even believe some characters to be alive and theirs. You ph43r them. These are the fangirls that are the "lunatics" and you don't want to feed them.

So, what am I? ....hmmm.... depends on where I am. I would say usually I'm between 1 & 2. It varies, depenidng on which group of friends I'm with and talking to.

#3........I would have to say at conventions when I do "fangirl day" I may sometimes (ok most of the time ) fall under this category.....

But since I'm not under that category ALL the time, I don't think I'm a lunatic- I'm just happy. :D

Topazora - October 21, 2003 08:48 PM (GMT)
Hello, I'm knew here. And there is definately a pattern in the bishies I like, like say, they're all psycopaths! And they have either long white hair or long black hair.
You know, people like Sephiroth , Kuja (yes, I like Kuja), Vegeta, Lotor Prince of Doom and Bokar, Prozen, Bakura, Merik and that's all I can think of that are bad.
Lesse, ones that aren't bad: Vincent, Hotohori- that's really all I can think of, I'm sure there are more.
Inuyasha is kinda cute, so is his brother :D ! I also really like Kurama, he's adorable! Ok, I think I've named enough. Hi Nannon!!! Its me, Sonjalee!
Sonjalee (Topazora)

nie-chan - October 21, 2003 08:54 PM (GMT)
hee-hee crazies huh?

Then may I ask if you've checked out Pan~pan's room? Her room is dedicated to the psychos.

Pan Pan - October 22, 2003 01:34 AM (GMT)
yay crazies! yes, i love them crazy boys... (yes, even kuja... I have to add him soon... :D ) anyway, i agree nie-chan on the 3 degrees of fandom... very true... I think i fit the 2 most of the time and yes, certainly at cons i may go into 3 mode...
:D

~pannon

P-chan - October 22, 2003 01:53 AM (GMT)
Sad as I am to say this...I am only a 1. guess you girls just have to work harder on me, don't you? :ph43r:

Kago - October 22, 2003 02:03 AM (GMT)
I'm a 2, or a borderline 3 at most.

Ry-chou - October 22, 2003 02:09 AM (GMT)
i'm a three! but i can lapse anywhere between them, depending on who i'm talking to... Kago's a fangirl? O.o there whould be fanboy stages. *nod nod*

Kago - October 22, 2003 02:17 AM (GMT)
THWAP!
*Smacks Ry-Chou upside the head*
The scale was generic.

Ry-chou - October 22, 2003 02:19 AM (GMT)
 yes sir! won't happen again, sir! *salutes*

um... back on topic... there is a 0, for you don't care, and negatives for all those horrible, terrible anime-haters! And i'm sure somebody, somewhere has surpassed 3 and gone onto total and complete fandomness. like Buddha's enlightenment. only... better. :ph43r:

Kago - October 22, 2003 02:41 AM (GMT)
Kago:  Hmmmmm...
*Closes his eyes, folds his legs, and starts thinking about anime...*
Kago:*Starts to Levitate off the ground...*Belldandy... Peorth... Chi...

kitsune_yurei - October 22, 2003 09:39 AM (GMT)
Usually I'm a 2...but it really depends on the convo. since if its on some one i really like... :D I can go on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on! then I get yelled at to shut up, and I don't shut up till im asleep! or else if someone says " blah blah blah is baka..." then I go  and yell....

QAer - October 22, 2003 09:52 AM (GMT)
As far as 'fandom' goes I'm somewhere in between ¼ and 2.

It really depends. Because I do talk about things other than anime often to answer peoples questions in message boards around the internet I really only talk about anime other than that.

"there whould"

*spraypaint edits 'whould'*
Hi Nannon!!! Its me, Sonjalee!
::Waves:: Hi, Sonja!! Welcome to the board! Have you checked out the Halloween party yet? It's fun!

As for the fan levels - I move between the three, depending on who I'm talking to and which show I'm talking about.

*~*NansJns*~*

VisitingTopazoraFangirl - October 25, 2003 06:13 AM (GMT)
Umm… I would have to that I'm fall between two and three. I'm a particulery shy and quiet person, and when I do talk, I'll talk about fan stuff. I used to be into debates, but they got old for me, so its animation and anime for me. I know that guys like the bushies I like probably don't exist, so I won't hesitate to check out real guys that are attractive.
No I havn't been to the halloween party! Where is it!
Sonjalee

Kawaii_Neko - October 28, 2003 03:20 AM (GMT)
I'm a 2 and a half! Except after I just saw a new episode of an anime... Then I'm a 4!

kagome-chan - November 6, 2003 02:04 PM (GMT)
Oh yes I know what you mean. First time I watched kenshin I fell in love with him.... he captured me with his gentle personaity and his kick butt ability to fight :D It was like he took my heart away with him, it was amazing. anyway enough about me tells talk about you...what do you think about me  J/K

PoisonTongue - November 9, 2003 04:15 PM (GMT)
I always like guys with EXTREMES in their personas....Ya know? Like the really hot ones with a strange quirk?

examples: Trowa- extremely quiet

Goku- extremely loud
Tomahome- extremely hot
Chichiri- extremely weird <------------*I loves him goood*

annie-chan - November 9, 2003 10:44 PM (GMT)
i go for the gallant nero/knight guys. as u know i put allen(escaflowne) and larva(vampire princess miyu) under "wedding march", so, ya, i guess that's just how i am! ^_^ im such an old fashioned.....^_^

annie-chan - November 9, 2003 10:58 PM (GMT)
I like the knight in shining armor types. hot, heroic, polite, totally understanding...*starts drooling over fantasies of larva and allen* ^_^ mweeheeheehee!that also makes my friends think im crazy that i like seeu from planet ladder....he saved kaguya from marrying kura! and he's protecting her like gold did! get over it! *notices everyone is staring*back to the point, i also like the ones that just have those nice smiles that make you melt... *cough*ohjiro*cough*
im just a little old fashioned ^_^

Morri Chan - December 12, 2003 01:18 AM (GMT)
I love the cats. Neko-boys all the way!

I also love any ones with Animals. *pats Izumi's head*

My friend Hali goes for the misunderstoodies. Like Heero and Kyou.

I lurve the Kyou and Takuto. Teh neko boys. *squeezes them*

I also go for things a little different...like Zelgadis. And Yue.

Yukino-sama - July 1, 2004 10:51 PM (GMT)
I don't know why but I mostly go for unusual, evil, emotionless bishies.... can you guess one? O.o
Juromaru:As I said, unusual, evil, and emotionless..... he's my most favorite! ^_^ I like guys ith purple hair..... I also like guys that doesn't even talk.... weird huh?

Neon Hyena - July 2, 2004 02:52 PM (GMT)
Well, for personality, I tend to like the bad guys that still have a good heart.
For looks, I tend to prefer really weird hair color.

Example: Kaworu-He's sent to destroy humanity, but instead sacrifices himself so humanity can survive. Plus, hes hot! ^_^ :D

hanyou-kagome - July 3, 2004 03:08 AM (GMT)
I have anaylzed some of my most favorite bish that I have at the moment, and I have found out what attracts me most!!

I like those stupid arrogant won't admit their feelings think the world is out to get them so they try to get the world first idiotic jerks! ^_^ examples you say? EXAMPLES!!

Inuyasha--Kikyo Kagome stuff, never admits his feelings, set on becoming demon so no body can pick on him...

Hiei...does he really need to be explained, ok Yukina being his sister doesn't want to tell her because she'll "reject him"

Sesshomaru "I hate all humans!...Rin is in trouble? SAVE RIN!" *ahem* yes...

Wolfwood: you know normally I wouldn't put him in this group, but still if you've seen far enough into the series, you know how he goes against the beloved Humanoid Typhoon!

Yusuke: ...well ok, he's not really in this category technically, but he still is stubborn, and very hard headed at times...

So yeah...than the rest of my faves are normally just hard headed...than it goes to the others that I still love but don't fit in those categories...
