Chapter 1

Kiana crawled out of her plushy soft bed to get ready for school. She slammed her hand on her alarm clock to shut it up. She couldn’t stand the interminable beeping of it. She couldn’t stand waking up at six thirty every morning to go to school. Why did school have to start at eight? Oh why, oh why, oh why? Why couldn’t it start at nine or something? She dragged her large size nine feet on the floor and stared at herself in the mirror in her bedroom. She stood there at least five minutes staring at her ugly self. Why was she born so ugly? She imagined. Her straight black hair fell down long down past her shoulders and her hazel eyes stared at her very own hazel eyes. ‘Why was this?’ She thought. Oh, yeah, she was in front of a mirror. No wonder. ‘Wow, I’m stupid’ she said to herself. She stared at her gangly body, her head five feet eight inches off the ground. She was tall for fifteen years old, one of the very tallest in her class, for a girl at least. Her chest was almost fully developed, not very big, and not too small either. Perfect, I guess, she also thought to herself. What she was most proud of, of her looks, was her hair. It cooperated well with her in the morning, any time actually. That’s why she loved it. It wouldn’t get tangled so easily and all of her friends and classmates at school loved it. They were jealous of her hair but not her looks. Her face was ugly, she concluded, it was the ugliest thing she had ever seen. Yet, guys asked her out, and with this in mind, she was very surprised. Why would a guy ever have any interest in her? She decided not to comment on her beauty or her non-beauty really, and went to take a shower.

Kiana went down to eat breakfast. She saw that she was the only awake, so far. Her perfect sister was probably still sleeping. She loathed her sister for being so perfect. Lana was beautiful, head-cheerleader, dated jocks kind of a girl, and she was also senior class president. Her sister basically equaled ideal and flawless. Her sister was so popular and sometimes it was hard for her to reach up to her standards, of course, not the standards with teachers, standards with the being social. As her parents would say, Kiana was the brains and Lana was the beauty but one thing Lana always wanted was Kiana’s hair, which Lana didn’t exactly have. But still, Lana’s hair came pretty close. Anyways, Kiana was not precisely a social outcast, but she didn’t hang out with the “in” crowd either. She was kind of in between, she hung out with the popular people and her own friends, and she liked being that way. It was comfortable.

Kiana walked to her best friend’s house which was about half a mile away. (This always kept her in shape besides the fact that she played volleyball throughout the whole year.) Scott was his name. She had known him ever since they were like two years old. He was like a brother to her which was something she had never had. She knew that she could confide in him and he would be there to reassure her in times of need and when she got in trouble, he would help her. He was like the ultimate best friend. She reached his house and rung his doorbell. Then Scott answered the door, standing there in his baggy jeans, baggy shirt, and his shaggy longish brownish blond hair. He was all about baggy. He definitely had the surfer look going on, she decided.

Scott opened the door to see his best friend standing there waiting for him. He always loved seeing her and it became a tradition for the both of them to go to school together. They had known each other for the longest time and it seemed the more he saw her, the more he loved her. He had fallen in love with her ever since seventh grade and now he was sixteen and in tenth grade, but he could never tell her that because it would be humiliating, because he knew already what she really felt about him. He was just her best friend and almost like her brother. Her head was tilted to the side and she just smiled. He moved his long hair out of his eyes slightly to see more clearly. His hair was always in the way, yet he always kept the same hairdo, it was totally him. He saw her more now and she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. She thought she was hideous, but everyone at school knew this was outrageously untrue. She had the perfect body and guys always looked at her in that “Oh, she’s really hot” kind of look. She always compared herself to her sister, but he felt that she was much prettier than her sibling, and she had the most wonderful personality. She was so generous, responsible, organized and loved to help others, but at times, she got irritable easily. That was one of her weak points and this was one of the sides of hers that you didn’t want to get on. She was brilliant, some classes she struggled but overall she was a great student. She was the supreme girl.

“You ready to go?” Kiana asked. Her speech interrupted his thoughts about her.
“Yeah, let’s go,” he answered. He got his backpack and he locked the door to his house.

Chapter 2

They walked to school which wasn’t that far away. Their San Francisco public high school was one of the best in the state. Kiana and Scott both agreed that it shocked the both of them how some of their classmates ever ended up in their school. The IQ of those students must have been like fifty or something. They continued on. Alisa, Kiana’s other best friend, met up with them. She wasn’t exactly the brightest student but Kiana still loved her.

“Oh my God, Kiana, where have you been?”
“Walking to school?”
“Kiana, yes I know that, but what took you so long?”
“What took me so long? Alisa, it’s like seven forty, we’ve got twenty minutes till school starts.”
“Yes, but everyone knows that Michael arrives at school at seven fifty so we need to make sure we are here he arrives.” Kiana made a puzzling face.
“Michael?”
‘Oh, great, Michael,’ thought Scott. He despised Michael and wanted to choke him to death.
“He’s a new sophomore here. All the girls say he’s so hot,” Scott added in.
“He is, he so is.”
‘Rely on Alisa to get all the gossip,’ Kiana said in her head. She smiled.
“Uh huh, Alisa, and this is supposed to pertain to me how?”
“You might want to see him; this could give you a chance to get a new relationship started.”
Scott sighed.
“What’s your problem?” Alisa asked with an annoyed face.
“Nothing just tired.” Alisa had that face that said, “Sure, you expect me to believe that.”
“So anyways, Kiana, go to your locker, get your books, and hurry your ass out here.”
“Ok, ok, I’m going.” she replied with an amused look. “C’mon Scott”
“Coming” he responded.
Kiana and Scott walked into the school to their lockers. Fortunately for the both of them, they’re lockers were right next to each other. They had most of their classes together and this made them both happy.
“So what’s up with this Michael guy?” Kiana asked Scott.
“I don’t know much about him, he supposedly transferred from Miami or something, from one of those really expensive private schools. He’s actually seventeen but he’s a year behind because of some issues, if you know what I mean.”
“Oh, ok.” She laughed. “Well then I guess that sounds interesting, but why would he transfer in the middle of the year?”
“I don’t know.”
“How come I don’t know about him?”
“You weren’t here when came here for his first day of school.”
“Oh, ok.”
“Yeah”
They finished packing their books and started out of the school to await the oh-so-famous Michael. Some girls said hi to Kiana and some guys said hi to Scott. The minute they walked out, the popular girls called Kiana over. As always, Scott watched her walk away with her graceful steps and her swaying hips. His friend came up behind him.
“Hey Scott, who are you looking at? Megan? Casey? Or is it Kelly? Oh, no don’t tell me.”
“What?” he inquired innocently.
“Hey Scott.” said another friend.
“Aaron, he’s looking at her again.”
“Oh man, Scott, dude, it’s bad for your health. You gotta pick somebody else.”
“Rick, dude, I have no idea what you are talking about.”
“Aaron, he has no idea what we’re talking about.”
Scott’s face looked totally clueless. Scott looked at Kiana and she was towering high over them. He saw that she turned her head around and was looking at him. She waved and gave him her gorgeous grin. He waved back.
“Scott, you have to stop fixating on Kiana and move on to some other girl. You are never going to have her.”
“What are you guys implying? You guys think I like Kiana. You have to be joking, she’s my best friend and like my sister,” he persisted. If only he could actually tell them the truth.
“Yes, that’s exactly what we are implying, and the best friend part is what we’re really worried about. I think that you spend too much time with her, and it’s making you like her, even though she is hot.” Rick said and Aaron nodded in agreement.
“Yup, so we think that it would do you some good to stay away and just hang out with us for awhile.” Aaron added.
“Well, if you guys really feel that way.”
“Good. Rick, he’s cooperating, he’s actually cooperating. We would have figured that you would rebel, but I guess we assumed wrong.”
The actual real reason he was doing this was because he didn’t want them to get suspicious.

Chapter 3

“Kiana, honey, how have you been?” asked Kelly.
“Good, how are you all?”
“We’re fabulous, thank you very much. Love the skirt by the way.” Megan said.
“Love the sweater” Casey said.
“Love the shoes” Ashley said.
“We all love the hair, as usual. Perfect, as usual.”
“Thanks.” Kiana blushed.
“I think that guy is checking you out. You are looking fine in your clothes. Might I note that he is cute.” Casey pointed across Kiana’s shoulder.
Kiana turned around and looked at Scott. Scott? She waved at him and grinned. He waved back.
“Scott? You guys have to be kidding. He’s my best friend and like my brother. I don’t think so.” She turned back around.
“What? Are you denying this? Do you see the way he looks at you? I think you kind of like him too. Girls, do you not agree?”
“No, he doesn’t give me any special look. Well, I do like him, he’s my best friend and like my brother. Maybe he’s looking at one of you.” She insisted.
“Whatever, not that kind of like, the like like. I think you wish he was your boyfriend.” Megan said.
“Yeah, I can’t believe you are refusing the fact that I can recognize one those looks instantly. I get them all the time.” Casey laughed at her own statement.
“I’m sure you do, but I highly doubt it. We’re just really close friends. From what I can tell, he’s giving me one of those “Hi, best friend and almost sister” kind of look. I don’t have any wish that he was my boyfriend.”
“Ok, well, whatever floats your boat, but he is giving you the look.” Ashley said.
Kiana had a solemn face and pondered on the subject. All of sudden, somebody poked her. It was Kelly.
“Look, Kiana, check out whose coming.”
Kiana looked around and saw a brand new silver Mercedes convertible pull into the parking lot. Kiana noticed that an extremely good-looking guy was behind the wheel. He had short brown spiky hair, much different than Scott’s, and he was positioned like he was the coolest thing on the planet. He had only one hand on the wheel and the other on at his side. He had shades on so she couldn’t tell what color eyes he had, plus he was too far away for her to notice.
“Oh my goodness, he is so hot!” Ashley said. All the other girls muttered in accord. “Hey, Kiana, do you think so?”
“Yeah, he’s cute.”
“I’m afraid, Kiana, that that’s the understatement of the year. He is gorgeous; he is like the king of all hot guys.” Kiana giggled.
They all watched in admiration as he got out of his car. It was hard to see if they were admiring his car or him because his car looked just as good.

Scott watched Kiana and her friends look at the new guy. Their jaws were all wide open and their eyes were overcome with awe. Kiana just kind of stared not really overwhelmed by his looks. He watched Alisa crawl over to Kiana and Kiana kind of was talking to her while Ashley, Casey, Kelly, and Megan were watching their idol.
“Oh, man, this is making me sick,” Rick said.
“Yeah, me too, that dude thinks he’s so hot and all that,” Aaron declared.
“Yeah, look at all them over there staring at him like he’s the king,” Scott exclaimed.
“Oh, shit, man, stop looking at that crowd. Kiana is there, so turn around and look at other people. There are a ton of other hot girls in our grade. Please don’t tell me that Kiana is like the only one you want to look at,” Rick pleaded.
“How do you know that I’m not looking at Casey or Ashley or something?” Scott said defensively. He continued, “I mean, they are hot and they are all cheerleaders. Am I not allowed to watch them too?”
“Well, ok, if that’s who you’re looking at, then that’s ok.”
“Thank you.” Scott could use this excuse to gaze at Kiana, except Kiana doesn’t always hang out with them so that couldn’t be an option all the time. Oh well, he thought.

“I say one of us go ask him out,” Casey suggested.
“Oh, I want to,” Kelly said.
“No, I want to,” Ashley exclaimed.
“Of course you won’t I will,” Megan almost yelled.
“I proposed it, so I say I ask him,” Casey called.
Kiana watched them fighting over who was going to ask Michael out. ‘Unbelievable,’ Kiana spoke in her head. Michael started walking toward the school and when he passed her, he cocked his chin at her. She beamed.
“Oooo, I think that Michael already chose somebody,” one of the girls said.
“Not fair, this is totally not fair. Why does she always get all the attention?” Kelly joked.
“What? I don’t all get the attention. You guys always get all it, you guys are cheerleaders. I don’t even know why guys even ask me out. I’m so ugly.”
“Oh please Kiana don’t tell me you actually think you’re ugly. You’re one of the hottest girls in our grade, let alone the school. Don’t even match yourself to your sister,” Megan claimed.
“Thank you but that doesn’t change the fact that I’m ugly,” Kiana pointed out.
“Stop Kiana, stop, you’re making me feel sick,” Ashley said.
“Ok, sorry.” She snickered.
“We’re just playing with you.” Megan said.

Scott watched as Michael did a little gesture at Kiana. Scott got mad and he felt all the heat go up in his cheeks. Kiana actually smiled at him. No, she was falling for him. Why did life have to be so cruel to him? ‘Ok, I have to stop thinking about her,’ he told himself. ‘Rick and Aaron are right. I need to find somebody else. But I can’t, I love her.’ The bell rung for class, he shook his head and he started toward his first class.
“Scott, Scott, hold up.” He heard somebody yell. It sounded like a girl and when he turned around, there was Kiana chasing after him. He smiled to himself. He stopped and waited for her to catch up with him.
“Hey,” Scott said.
“Hey,” Kiana replied.
“I saw Michael checking you out.”
“Yeah…you know what was weird, Casey, Megan, Kelly, and Ashley all said that you liked me and I liked you. Like boyfriend and girlfriend.”
“Yeah, you know, Rick and Aaron said the same thing. I was like ‘Are you crazy?’”
“Yeah, same here” Kiana chuckled and later Scott did too.
“So, you think you might want to go out with Michael?” Scott inquired.
“Don’t know, I need to get to know him. Plus you need to approve first.”
“Well, that makes me feel good. If I ever meet a girl, I’ll make sure that you approve of her too.”
“You will, Scott. I’m sure a lot of girls would love to go out with you.” ‘Sure, except the only one I really love.’ Scott informed himself.
By this time, they reached class and they walked in. Kiana sat next to Alisa and Scott sat next to Kiana. They waited for the teacher to start teaching. When he did, Kiana started to write furiously into her notebook. Scott just stared at her while she had her paper sideways and the way her hair fell when she bent down to write. She pushed it back in a hurry and it just kept falling down. He laughed to himself.

Chapter 4

Alisa watched Scott as he was glaring admirably at Kiana. ‘He’s cute I suppose a little hot as well, Scott,’ she told herself. Kiana denied that she liked Scott as anything more than a best friend and would deny that Scott like her anymore than a best friend. Without a doubt if Alisa had asked Scott, Scott would deny it as well, but anybody could tell that he loved her. The way he stared was the most obvious reason. She wished that somebody would look at her like that. She looked around at her class and there were a couple of hot guys in there. Then Michael walked in. Everybody turned their heads at who walked in and Alisa noticed that a lot of the girls were grinning with all their white teeth showing, including her. Kiana kept writing her notes while all of the girls just glared as he casually walked. Alisa was overwhelmed by his hotness. Oh my god, how can somebody that hot, live? She wondered.

Scott turned around as that stupid fucking Michael came in. Michael seriously thought he was the hottest thing on the planet. Michael was standing there with his books at his side with a casual smile, not with his teeth showing. As he saw all the girls keep their eyes on him, Kiana was finishing her notes. ‘Typical Kiana, never distracted by the stuff around her when she’s at school or studying,’ he said jokingly in his mind. She was proud of Kiana for not doing that, only if she could be his girlfriend, then he would be more proud. He saw Michael’s brown eyes wander around and land right on top of her black head.

Michael traveled down the gray hallways down to his first class at his new school. This morning he drove in with his new silver Mercedes. Of course, they gave this to him so he could drive around and do whatever he wanted, but he still had to stick to the plan. This morning he had also spot her at the stupid school he was supposedly supposed to go to. He couldn’t give himself away, so in a relaxed way, he raised his chin at her and she smiled. ‘I mean who wouldn’t?’ he reminded himself and smirked. He reached his class room and opened the door slowly. As he walked in, he saw all his classmates turn around, most of the girls actually. He lifted one side of his mouth and grinned slightly. He realized that this smile always got to the girls and he was right. All the girls were glaring at him with big eyes. They were practically drooling with their tongues hanging. His eyes looked around all around the room and his eyes reached the top of her head. She didn’t turn around which surprised him, otherwise he would’ve recognized her. She kept her head down probably writing. There was a guy next to each other with shaggy blond hair looking at him through his hair. Michael decided not to acknowledge him.
“Michael, come find a seat,” the teacher said.
Michael went to sit down at a seat one seat diagonal in the back to Kiana. She turned around in his direction and waved. ‘I knew it, I knew she would warm up to me.’ he said. Michael smiled back and blond guy next to her started looking a little aggravated. ‘What’s his problem? Oh I think I know.’ he thought. He saw that Kiana had turned back and was paying attention to what the teacher was saying. Michael decided that he might as well too even though he already learned all these things.

Kiana had walked into the classroom with Scott and she sat down. The teacher came in and started explaining. She started to write all the important things that he was saying. She heard the door open and slam. Without regard to what was happening, she continued to finish her notes.
“Michael, come find a seat,” she heard the teacher say.
When she heard a seat squeak, she turned her head where the sound was coming from. Michael was sitting there with his legs open and a smile. ‘Yes, Casey, Kelly, Megan, and Ashley are right. He is pretty hot.’ She thought. She waved at him and he simply grinned back at her. Kiana turned back into her seat. From the corner of her eye, she spotted Scott and he looked a little irritated. She spun her head in his direction.
“Hey, Scott, are you ok?”
“Yeah, I’m fine, I’m fine,” he replied with a sweet smile.
“Ok,” she said with a drawl.

Chapter 5

At lunch, Scott, Alisa, Kiana, some of Kiana’s friends, and some of Scott’s friends ate together. Rick kept hitting on Kiana and Scott looked at Rick like ‘What the hell do you think you’re doing?’ and unfortunately for Scott, Rick ignored it. They kept talking and talking, discussing about their midterms. They had gotten them back that day and they were sharing their grades. Nobody really wanted to know what Kiana got because by now it was kind of obvious to them already.
“I got a b minus, an eighty-three, in Science,” Alisa said.
“Ha, I got a ninety- one,” Scott argued.
“Oh, man, lucky you. I got a C. I’d rather not say the specifics.” Rick said in disappointment.
Kiana kept quiet because she understood that nobody was interested, but fascinatingly enough Scott wanted to know.
“I got a ninety- seven,” she responded quietly.
Everybody moaned.
“Sorry,” she said innocently.
“It’s ok, we’re just kidding,” Alisa added.
“How much did you study anyway?” Aaron wondered.
“Oh, not much, I think about thirty to forty-five minutes I guess,” Kiana said honestly.
“That is not fair, I study for like three hours and I still do worse than her,” Aaron said.
“Yeah, so did I,” Rick added.
“I think most of us did,” Alisa commented.
“Yeah,” Scott groaned.
“Why is it that Kiana doesn’t need to study and she gets A’s but we have to study like so much and we get B’s, C’s and even lower?” Rick asked.
“Well I don’t cram, I just kind of study everyday, review the notes so that they are like stuck in my head,” she advised.
“Yeah, as much as that is working for you, I don’t have the strength at the end of the day to do that.” Aaron said.
“Well, it does really help so maybe you can think about it,” she answered.
“Yeah, ok, I say we end this conversation and continue on something better. Hmm?” Alisa suggested.
“Agreed,” Scott concurred.
“Ok, so what to talk about then?” Aaron asked.
“Don’t know” Rick retorted.
The bell rang for the end of lunch.
“Well, there goes the bell, so I’ll be going getting my books.” Kiana took her messenger bag and left in the direction of her locker.
“Why does she always prepare so early?” Aaron questioned.
“She likes to be in class early,” Scott and Alisa said simultaneously.
“Ok, you two,” Rick pointed two fingers at them, “spend too much time with her. That was freaky.”
“Yeah, well we know her well that’s all,” Scott said.
“Yeah, sure, whatever” Rick said.

Kiana walked to her locker and put in her combination of her lock. She pulled on it and it opened. She took out the books she didn’t need from her bag and put them in her incredibly neat and organized locker. There were no stray papers around, just things that she needed. Against the door, she had many, many pictures of her and Scott doing stuff together. She stared at them for awhile. ‘I wonder what it would be like if Scott and I dated. That’d be too weird.’
“Hey, that your boyfriend?” a sexy deep voice asked behind her.
“No, that’s my best friend.” She turned around to see Michael standing there.
“Oh, I see. You guys must be really close,” he inferred.
“Yeah, he’s like my brother.”
“Cool. I’m pretty sure we haven’t met before. What’s your name?” He asked.
“What’s your name?” She smiled slyly.
“Oh, you want to find out my name first.”
“Yes, well, I am not obligated to say my name first.”
“Oh, I see. Well then, my name is Michael.”
“Do you happen to have a last name, Michael?”
“Indeed I do. My last name is Carver, Michael Carver.”
“Oh, nice to meet you Michael Carver, my name is Kiana Kono.”
“Kiana Kono? Hmm, interesting name.”
“Yeah, I’m from Hawaii but I’m also kind of Japanese too.”
“That’s cool.”
“Yeah” she responded. She rocked back and forth.
“Do you want to go out for coffee or something later?”
“Ok, I’d love to.”
“Cool, well see you after school.”
“Ok, see you later.”
Kiana turned back around to her locker and when she was almost done with packing her books, Scott came next to her, with a strained smile on his face.

After Kiana left the lunch table, Scott and everybody else just started talking again.
“How does she do this school stuff?” Aaron asked.
“I don’t know, I seriously don’t know,” Alisa said.
“She pays a lot of attention in class and she really tries to make the effort to do really well in school,” Scott mentioned.
“Yeah I think that’s it,” Rick said.
“Ok, well, as much as I hate to leave this wonderful conversation, I’m going to go pack my books,” Scott said,
“Ok bye,” they all said.

“Is anybody else besides me getting the feeling that Scott and Kiana are having this bond?” Alisa inquired.
“Yeah, that’s what Aaron and I were asking him.”
“Yeah, well I know that Kelly, Casey, Megan and Ashley asked her about it also. She denied all of it.”
“Scott too” Aaron said.
“Ok, I have a plan for our two friends. We try to separate them. Get them to date other people because I don’t think this Kiana Scott thing is going to work.” Rick mentioned.
“Good idea, me neither. I don’t think Kiana is going be a problem. First of all, all the guys here want to date her but I think Michael is going to ask her out.” Alisa said.
“Ok good, then try to get her to go out with him. We just need to find a girl for Scott.” Rick said.

Scott was going to his locker but right before he turned the corner of the hall, he spotted Kiana. She was at her locker with Michael there. She was smiling and talking to him. She looked happy. Scott couldn’t bear to watch anymore so he turned his back and paced in the hallway. When he peered around the hallway again, Kiana was alone finishing packing her bag and Michael had gone. Scott decided to get his books. He forced a smile so he could hide his disappointment. He walked to his locker with his fake smile.

k guys this is chapter 6 and chapter 7 which explains y my story is called Freaks hope u like it!

Chapter 6

“Scott, are you alright?” Kiana asked with a curious face.
“Yeah, I’m fine, just tired, especially it being a Monday. I hate Mondays, you should know that by now.”
“Yes I do know that. Well when you get home, make sure you get tons of sleep.”
“That’s if I can do my homework in time.”
“Oh, ok.”
“Do you want to work on the homework together so I can get it done faster?” He put on the puppy face.
“Stop, don’t give me that face.” She giggled. “Sorry, but I’m having coffee with Michael today.”
“Oh, ok.”
“Sorry, Scott, maybe when I’m done with coffee, I can go to your house. You take a nap first and then when I get to your house, I’ll wake you up. Ok?”
“Alright,” he still had his saddened face.
He was done packing and then the both of them walked to Pre-calculus.
“Did you do ok on the midterm for Pre-calculus?” Kiana asked, trying to change the subject.
“Yeah, I got an eight-nine.”
“Oh, awesome, I got a ninety four. I was a little disheartened but it’s ok. I was hoping to do better. Hopefully, I’ll do better on the final.”
“Kiana, you did brilliant. I personally think its good enough that we are in Pre-calculus. I mean everybody else is still on Algebra 2.”
“I guess you’re right.”
They reached their classroom. They opened the door and set into their chairs.

Michael was standing casually against Kiana’s locker. He was there ever since the bell rang and a ton of girls passed through the hallways and stared at him when walking by. One girl kept staring at him so she bumped into one of the opening classroom doors. She fell down with a bright red face. She looked as if she was about to cry. She got up in a hurry and walked away in shame. He laughed to himself. Kiana came walking towards him, her face buried in a book. They did tell him that she loved reading. Fantastically, when she was reading and walking, she didn’t bump into anybody through the hallway. Michael was impressed. She shut the book and looked up and smiled at him. Her smile was brilliant and white and it was beautiful. Kiana was definitely beautiful.
“Hey” she said.
“Hey, ready to go?”
“Yeah, just let me get my books.”
He stepped aside to allow her to gather her textbooks.
“So you like reading?”
“Yeah, I hate to brag but I did read 120 books already this year. I’m wishing to reach 200 by the end of the year.”
“Avid little reader, aren’t you?”
“I am,” she responded.
The both of them walked out of the school and Kiana continued to follow him to his car. Michael gazed at her, Kiana was reaching into her messenger bag and getting out her cell phone. She turned it on. She put it back into her messenger bag. They finally arrived at his car and Kiana gasped.
“Wow, it’s beautiful.” She commented.
“Thanks, my parents spoil me with these kinds of lavish gifts.”
“I don’t even have my driver’s license yet, so I don’t even have to worry about a car.”
“Really? How old are you?” He requested.
“Fifteen, turning sixteen in a few months, I suppose that’s when I’m going to get my license.”
“Interesting, you don’t look fifteen.”
“You think? How old do I look like?” She asked as she stepped into the car. ‘I don’t really want to put my feet down. I mean, the carpet is so white.’
“I would have thought you were sixteen already.”
“Really? Well, I think looking older is not a good thing when you’re old.”
“I don’t think you’re going to look old when you get older,” he replied as he started the car.
“Thanks,” she blushed.
When they were pulling out of the parking lot, her cell phone rang.
She answered with “Hello”
“Hey, Kiana” Casey said.
“Hey, Kiana” Megan yelled.
“Kiana!!!!” Ashley added in.
“Hi Kiana” Kelly screamed.
“Hi, girls, what’s up?” she wanted to know.
“I can’t believe you’re in Michael’s car. We can see you, you lucky girl.”
Kiana heard a “Hand over the phone, Casey” in the background.
Then Kelly was at the phone. “Where are you going with Michael?”
“Coffee” she answered Kelly’s question. She peered at Michael; he looked as if he couldn’t hear her talking.
“Mmm, somebody’s got a date with the new hot guy.” Megan said in a sing song voice.
“Can you guys be any louder? I think he can hear you.” Kiana said in a frantic whisper.
“Oh, sorry” Ashley apologized.
“Ok, well have fun on your date.” Casey teased.
“Thanks”
“Bye” they all yelled.
Kiana hung up the phone and placed it in its original place. She didn’t want to say anything unless Michael asked so she didn’t.
Michael continued driving then he asked, “Who was that?”
“Oh, those were the girls, wondering where I was.”
“Oh, cool.”
“Yeah” she chuckled.

Kiana was riding in Michael’s car once again. Michael was taking her to Scott’s car. She was reminiscing over the coffee date she had with Michael. They talked about various things and Kiana found that she and Michael had so many things in common. Kiana found that he loved reading as well; they even loved the same genres such as historical fiction and fantasy. But Kiana loved romance that Michael did not like so much.
Kiana’s thoughts stopped when Michael said, “We’re here.”
“Oh ok, thanks so much.”
She stepped out of the car and she waved bye to him. He drove away and turned the corner. She rang the doorbell. She waited almost five minutes until Scott opened the door. He had no shirt on; he only had on his jeans that he was wearing that day. His hair was kind of a mess. As Kiana had never noticed, Scott has some serious abs. He had like an six pack or something. It surprised her that she had never seen him lately without a shirt on especially since they were like best friends, but they didn’t have P.E. together, so whenever they went swimming in class, she never did see him. She did when they were younger, way before he had any muscles at all. Scott was kind of still half asleep, so he didn’t realize that he had no shirt on.
“Come in,” he mumbled.
Kiana stepped into the house and went to sit on his couch in front of his huge big screen TV. Scott went upstairs and when he returned, he looked livelier and he had a shirt on. Scott looked as though he was blushing a tiny bit.
“Ok, since when have you been working out?” she joked.
“Um, since I felt like it,” he said nervously.
“Oh, um, ok. Do you want to get started on homework?” she wanted to know.
“Oh, yeah, come on, we’ll do it in the kitchen. Just hold on a sec.” Scott rushed up the stairs and went into his room. Kiana went into his kitchen.

Scott said to himself, ‘I can’t believe this.’ Scott had woken up almost five minutes ago from the rest that Kiana had suggested to him. He had taken off his shirt to go to sleep and when he woke up to answer the doorbell, he completely forgot that he had no shirt. He knocked himself on the head. ‘Why am I so stupid?’ Anyways it was too late. Although, she did look slightly impressed by his abs. He started working out a lot ever since he told himself that he really started to like Kiana more than just a friend. He smiled to himself. He got his backpack and went downstairs. Kiana was already seated at his kitchen table with all of her books. Kiana was always well prepared. He kind of tossed his backpack onto the table and it startled her. He could tell because she jumped in her seat. She looked up and smiled. He beamed back at her. He went to the fridge.
“Do you want something to drink?” he asked her.
“No I’m fine, thanks.”
He took out a Sprite for himself and opened it.
“Ok, so what do you want to work on first?” she asked.
“I don’t know. How about we start the homework of the class that we have first tomorrow?”
“Good idea, tomorrow we first have AP American History, so let’s read and do some notes.” she recommended.
“Ok.”
Scott and Kiana started reading a chapter in their textbook and highlighted. They were learning about the Civil War, but more in detail. Their class was going through every battle in Civil War history that there was. In the textbook, they found a picture of Ulysses S. Grant.
“Oh my god, I would hate that name.” Kiana laughed.
“Yeah and look how he turned out.” Scott added.
“Oh, yeah, he’s so hot.” They started laughing hysterically.
“Yeah, I’m so envious.” Scott said. They laughed so hard that the both of them almost fell off their chairs. They stopped laughing and when they were staring at each other and then back at the picture, they started again. They couldn’t stop until after like five minutes. Kiana clutched her stomach because she was laughing uncontrollably. She tried breathing to help her feel better but she couldn’t stop. Scott snorted a couple of times and that made Kiana and him laugh even more.
“Whoo, ok, we have to stop.” Scott said aloud.
“Yeah,” Kiana agreed while she was wiping away tears from her eyes.
“Let’s finish,” Scott said.
They finished AP American History and moved on to the next class that they had, English Literature. They were reading Romeo and Juliet, in a dialogue form. Their class just started, but by now, they reached the balcony scene with only Romeo and Juliet.
“Ok, I say I’ll be Juliet and you’ll be Romeo just for kicks.” Scott said almost smiling.
“Ok, I’ll start,” Kiana responded. “Wait, step on to one of the chairs. I’ll be down here.”
“Alright,” Scott stepped onto one of the kitchen chairs and he was extremely tall, on account of his height and the chair also. Kiana started with Romeo’s first line with a low voice, while Scott was acting as Juliet. Kiana started to laugh.
“What’s so funny?” Scott requested.
“The fact that I’m Romeo and you’re Juliet” Kiana replied.
“Yeah, I know, that’s why I wanted to do it.”
“Yeah, I know.” Kiana inhaled and exhaled to prevent her from laughing again. She continued with a low voice that was not normal for a boy. Then Scott started to chuckle.
“Ok, may I ask what is so amusing?”
“Your low voice, it’s horrible. Boys don’t even really sound like that.”
“Fine, well here is Juliet’s first line, let me hear you do a girl’s voice.”
Kiana heard Scott do a girl’s voice that sounded even more terrible than Kiana’s low voice. Kiana giggled and giggled until she got Scott started. Once again, they laughed and maintained laughing until their stomachs ached again.
“Scott, we’re never going to get anything done if we remain doing our homework this way.”
“Ok, fine, let’s switch.”
Scott stepped off the chair and Kiana elegantly climbed on. Kiana continued with Juliet’s line. Scott glared at her while Kiana was acting like Juliet. Kiana was gorgeous and Romeo must have felt the same way about Juliet. Of course, Scott didn’t love Kiana over the course of one day and he didn’t only love her because of her looks. It was all of her that he loved and all that she was, attracted Scott. Kiana stopped.
“Scott, it’s your line now.”
“Oh, sorry, my bad” He did the lines of Romeo.
“Wow, Scott, you did that beautifully.”
“Thanks, I guess I have a knack for Shakespeare,” he shrugged.
They finished Romeo and Juliet and moved on to other homework. After they finished all their homework, it was seven thirty and eight. She had called her parents to tell her that she was going to be late and she was going to eat at Scott’s house. Scott’s mom made a really good salad with chicken. Kiana was right handed so she had her left hand under the table. Scott was left handed so he had his right hand under the table. Kiana was on the right and he was on the left so it looked like they were holding hands under the table. Scott’s parents looked at them suspiciously. Both Kiana and Scott took their unused hands and set them on the table. They went to look at each other and snickered a little.
When dinner was over, Kiana decided to leave. Scott walked with her to his door to say bye.
“I had a really good time today. It was fun.” Kiana told him.
“Yeah, me too, maybe we could uh…”
“Maybe we could…”
“Do this again sometime, maybe we could do this again sometime.”
“Yeah, we should.”
“Bye, see you tomorrow.”
“Bye” Kiana answered.
Scott leaned against the front of his door watching her walk away to her house.

Chapter 7

Kiana woke up the next morning and it seemed like a regular day to her. She took her clothes that she was going to wear that day to the bathroom, and fantastically, her sister was in there. Normally her sister wouldn’t wake up that early because Lana didn’t want to so Kiana had to wake up earlier to take a shower.
“Lana, hurry up. Why are you even awake?” Kiana shouted.
‘Ugh, Kiana, leave me alone.’
“No, Lana, I won’t leave you alone, I need to take a shower.” Kiana responded.
“What Kiana? I didn’t even say anything. Just hold on, my god, I needed to go to the bathroom. Do you not have any patience at all?”
“Sorry.” Kiana apologized. ‘Strange, she didn’t say anything. But I heard her, her voice was loud and clear in my head.’ Kiana was standing there, staring blankly thinking to herself.
‘Why is Kiana just standing there? Can’t she see I want to go to sleep?’
“Sorry, I’m moving, I’m moving.” Kiana responded, or so she thought she was.
Lana stared at her bizarrely. “I didn’t say anything. Are you feeling ok?”
“Yes, I’m feeling fine.”
“You’re sure?” Lana persisted.
“Yes, I’m fine.” Kiana entered the bathroom and closed the door.

Kiana was walking to school, thinking about what had happened at home. She reached Scott’s house and was about to ring the doorbell, when all of a sudden, Scott opened the door.
“How did you know I was already here?” Kiana asked.
“I saw you coming from the window.” Scott replied.
“Oh.”
Scott really wanted to tell her what happened earlier that morning but he was scared that it would frighten her. When he woke up, he all of a sudden saw a flash go across his eyes that he was going to fall into his bathtub. When he went to take a shower, he fell into his bathtub in the same exact position as he did before in his vision. He wondered what it meant. He felt that the words were about to come out of his mouth but he stopped the urge.
Kiana wanted to tell her best friend about her odd encounter that morning, but she was afraid that it would shock him. She wondered how he would feel about it. He would probably think she was some kind of freak or something. She really wanted to, but she fought it. Then Kiana heard an ‘I really want to tell her’ and she stared at Scott.
Scott saw another vision where he was telling her the same exact thing that he didn’t want to tell her. Suddenly the both of them simultaneously started talking.
“You go first, its ok.” Scott insisted.
“No you go first.” Kiana pleaded.
“No you” Scott begged.
“No you” Kiana said.
“Wow, we’re really mature. Ok, I’ll go first.” He breathed in and let it all out. He continued. “This morning when I woke up I saw a flash before my eyes and I had a vision that I was going to fall in the bathtub. And when I went to take a shower, I fell in my bathtub in the same exact way. Then I just had another vision that I was going to tell you about this, but before I didn’t really want to because I was afraid that you would think that I was a freak of nature or something.”
“Well, its ok because I’m just as much a freak of nature as you are. This morning, when I went to take a shower, Lana was already in the bathroom. Then-“
“Lana? In the bathroom? Already?” he interrupted.
“Yeah, anyways, then I told her to hurry up. I thought she answered but when I replied to her answer, she said she didn’t say anything. Then it happened again with her. And just now, it happened with you too. I think I can read minds.” She half-laughed at this statement. “I know it sounds crazy but I seriously think I can.”
“No, it doesn’t sound crazy. If you’re crazy, then I’m crazy as well. I think I can see the future.”
They stopped in their tracks and both of them said in unison, “Nah, it can’t be.” They stopped talking and laughed. Then Kiana and Scott started walking again.
They reached school and they saw Alisa’s curly blond head, Rick dyed blue and black hair, and Aaron with his brown hair with blond at the front, were clustered together like in a football huddle.
“Hey, guys, what are you doing?” Scott asked.
They jumped and turned around really fast.
“Um, nothing, nothing, we’re doing absolutely nothing.” Alisa insisted.
“Right, ok.” Kiana said. “Come on Scott, let’s go get our books.”
“K” he responded.
The three of them looked at the two of them really unusually. The two of them stared back while walking into the school.
“What’s up with them?” Kiana asked when they were out of earshot.
“I don’t know. I have a feeling they’re conspiring something.”
“Yeah, I have that feeling too.”
Their math teacher past bye and greeted them. They said hi back to him.
“We’re having a pop quiz today,” they said at the same time. They both put freaked out looks on their faces.
“How did we know that?” Scott asked.
“Well, it just popped in my mind.” Kiana said.
“I saw it.” Scott said.
“I think we do have these creepy powers.” Kiana concluded.
“Yeah…I’m thinking that too.”
“We can’t tell anybody or we’re going to be known as freaks of the school.”
“Yeah, we can’t”
They went to their lockers and took out their books.

Michael was driving to school when his cell phone rang.
“Her powers have been activated. They just started this morning. We predicted that it would be around this time. Also, we have found another kid with powers. It is a boy who also lives in the San Francisco area. His name is Scott Harrison. See if you can find him, that’s an order.”
“Right, I’m on it sir.” Michael obeyed.
He parked his car into the parking lot of his school and got out of his car. A bunch of girls were waiting outside of school awaiting his arrival, he was sure. He swung his backpack over his shoulder and casually strolled into the school. Kiana and her best friend almost passed when Michael reached to touch her.
“Oh, hi Michael, hold on, Scott I’ll be right there. You go ahead by yourself.”
‘Hmm, Scott, I wonder.’ Michael thought.
“Ok, bye.” The shaggy haired dude walked away.
“Good morning,” Michael saluted.
“Morning, what’s up?”
“Nothing really, just wanted to know if you would like to go out with me tomorrow night. We could go watch a movie and go for dinner or something.”
“Sure. I would love to.”
“Great, so what’s your friend’s name?”
“Scott Harrison” Kiana told him.
‘Hmm, exactly the man I wanted to see.’ he informed himself.
“Why do you ask?”
“Oh, just wondering.” The go-to-class bell rang.
“Um, ok, well I have to go to class.” Kiana reminded him.
“I have to go to AP American History too so we can walk together.” Michael suggested.
“Alright, hold on, let me get Scott. I’ll see you at American History.”
“See you soon. Bye.” Michael said.
Kiana walked away to go fetch her best friend and go to class.

Megan, Casey, Ashley and Kelly admired from afar. They watched as Kiana had gone to her locker with cute Scott and left with until she met up with hot Michael. Then Scott left and she talked to Michael. She smiled and looked happy. Then Michael and Kiana left.
“How come she gets the wonderfully sexy guy?” Casey whined.
“I don’t know it’s not fair” Ashley said.
“And she says she’s ugly, please, she’s more beautiful than any of us.” Megan commented.
“I have an idea,” Kelly said after a few minutes. “I say that we ask Kiana to take us where there are a lot of hot guys, all of them will come pouncing on her, but instead she introduces us to them. What do you think?”
“Evil, but amazingly brilliant” Ashley complimented. Kelly thanked her.
“Yes, impeccable idea.” Casey said.
“Impeccable? Where the hell did you get that word?” Megan asked.
“Got it from Kiana, I thought it was a long, sophisticated word so I would seem smart.” Casey reacted.
“Ooh, good job.” Megan congratulated.
“Thanks” Casey said.
“Anyway, so who’s going to ask Kiana for this favor?” Ashley inquired.
“I don’t know, I think that Kelly should. She came up with the idea.” Megan advised.
“I don’t want to.” Kelly begged.
“Well, one of us has to.”
“Fine, I’ll do it,” Casey volunteered.
“Yay, brave Casey.” Ashley cheered. Casey smiled.
“When should I ask?”
“Whenever, doesn’t matter, at least you ask her.” Megan said.
“Fine, I’ll ask her at lunch.”
“Good, the sooner the better.” Kelly said.
“Yeah,” Ashley agreed.

Michael spent almost the whole day with Kiana and this really bugged Scott. Scott all of a sudden felt like the third wheel and he wasn’t used to it because between him and Kiana, there never was a third person to worry about. He didn’t blame Kiana for it though; he blamed it all on Michael. Kiana did try to ask Scott some questions, but Michael constantly blocked Scott from answering or would answer with his own answers, never letting Scott say what he wanted to say. Scott never expressed his feelings, but Scott, without a doubt, had a feeling that Kiana knew how he felt with her new found power. This situation didn’t totally disappoint him, not because he saw it in his visions, but he knew this would happen. Every guy at school wanted to know Kiana and Scott didn’t blame them, it was just obvious why anybody would immediately love Kiana. Scott just went along with it, just until he and Kiana were by themselves and be best friends. Unfortunately, today was not an option because she had volleyball practice.

Kiana, Scott, Michael and the three mysterious friends ate together at lunch. Then the four evil cheerleaders came over to have a little “chat” with the humble Kiana.
“Kiana, can we ask you for a favor?” Casey asked timidly.
“Of course, what do you need?” Kiana said politely.
“We were just wondering if the five of us could go to a place where a lot of hot guys hang out and you can kind of introduce us to us or hook us up with them?”
“Certainly, when is a good day for the five of us to go out together?”
“Well, we have cheerleading practice on every day except for Wednesday and Saturday and Sunday, obviously, from three to five. Maybe tomorrow we can all meet at Kiana’s house at five thirty or something.”
“Can’t sorry,” Kiana spoke up. “I have date with Michael tomorrow night.”
“Ooh, somebody has a date with Michael Carver.” Kelly said.
“Yeah,” Kiana blushed.
“Oh my god, lucky you”
“Thanks” she responded.
“So when are we going to do it?” Ashley ushered.
“Maybe Friday?” Kiana suggested.
“Well then we’re going to have to schedule later because of cheerleading practice. So how about Friday at maybe six thirty or seven?”
“Alright, that’s good for me.”
“Great, we’ll see you on Friday.” Megan said.
When Kiana walked back to the table, everybody asked her what they were asking for. Kiana told them.
“That just shows you how desperate they are.” Aaron said.
“Maybe I can be with one of them.” Rick raised his eyebrows a few times.
“Ha, I don’t think that they are that desperate.” Scott laughed and so did everybody else.
“Very funny, very funny” Rick said sarcastically.
When Kiana had finished lunch and she was walking back to her locker, she felt all the thoughts of her classmates around flood into her head. It was so overwhelming that she fell back. One of her friends that were passing came and asked her if she was ok.
She heard things like ‘I’m so going to fail that test’ and ‘Let him please say yes, let him please say yes’. She didn’t comprehend any of these thoughts because she just heard one line of all of them. She shook her head to make them stop but they wouldn’t. Kiana couldn’t stop them from coming but she wished that they would go away. The next second, she couldn’t hear anything else except for herself. She sighed with relief and opened her locker.
Then somebody pounced on her. She was startled and turned around. Michael was standing there smiling at her sweetly. She smiled back. He looked excited and he was on his toes.
“What are you so jumpy about?” Kiana asked.
“About our date tomorrow night,” He responded.
‘Aww, that’s so sweet.’ she thought. “Yes, I’m excited also.”
“Ok, just wanted to tell you. Bye, see you later.” He kissed her on the cheek, hugged her, and skipped away. She laughed. Kiana turned back to her books and again somebody tapped her on the shoulder. It was the girls.
“We saw the little kiss that he gave you.” Megan said.
“That is so cute.” Casey commented.
“Yeah, it is.” Kiana agreed.
“See you later,” Alisa said, “and don’t forget about Friday,” she reminded.
“I won’t,” Kiana reassured her. They walked away and turned the corner.
When she finally was able to go back to packing her books, another person tapped her on the shoulder.
Aggravated she turned around and said, “Why is everybody tapping me or jumping on me today?” With all her irritation, she sent a mental attack on the person who tapped her last. Luckily it was Scott who also had the mental power. (With their psychic power, she and Scott could send these mental attacks to defend themselves since their own powers could not do that.) He was so overcome by the strength of the mental attack he almost fell backwards until her fast reflexes kicked in and she grabbed his arm to pull him back up.
“Are you feeling ok?” Scott asked her with a concerned face.
“Yeah, I’m fine, it’s just that Michael sprung on me and then you and the girls tapped so I’m really wondering why everybody keeps bothering me.”
“Sorry, I just wanted to talk to you about some stuff about you know what.”
“Oh ok.”

Michael was in the classroom closest to Scott’s and Kiana’s lockers. When he went to hug her, he had put a tiny spy listening device on her jacket collar. Before she was talking to the girls, now he was eavesdropping on the conversation that she was having with Scott about the very exact thing he wanted to hear about.
“Have you had any more problems with your power any time today?” Michael heard a low male voice ask.
“Yes, actually I have.” Kiana replied. “Just when I was walking in school, I suddenly heard everybody in my head. It was all coming in so loudly that I couldn’t even hear myself think. How ‘bout you?”
“Lately when I touch somebody, I get visions about them, but sometimes it just bursts in my head like this morning. It’s weird. This stuff is really freaking me out.” Scott mentioned.
‘It should,’ Michael scoffed. He continued listening to the conversation.
“Wait, I feel a little tickling feeling in my mind. I can feel somebody’s mind near us.” Kiana said suddenly.
“Kiana, we are in a school, I mean, there are working minds everywhere.”
“I know that Scott, I just feel this one particularly. It kind of resembles my mind and yours. You see, since your also psychic,” she lowered her voice, “I can feel your mind and I will know where you are. I can also send messages into your head; I can actually send messages to anybody’s head.”
“That’s so cool,” Scott said happily.”
“Yeah, it is.”
Michael then thought of himself. He was a psychic as well.
(This is how he knew that she felt that he was excited. His whole act worked perfectly and she believed it, everything about being happy that they were going out. ‘She is so naïve,’ he thought to himself.) He was taken by the people he worked for, a couple of years ago. He was exactly like Kiana and his powers started just when they had caught him. They taught him to go into people's mind and wanting to find out what they were thinking. Kiana didn't learn that yet that was why many thoughts always entered her mind, but she would learn it soon. They also taught him to block off his mind kind of like a wall so that people like Kiana couldn’t read his mind. He blocked it off by not thinking of anything and backed away a few feet back. He could easily give messages to Kiana’s head but he had to stay low, so he decided not to. The bell rang.
“Alright, I can’t feel it anymore.” Kiana said cautiously. “We better go to class; we’re going to be late.” Michael heard the banging of their lockers and their footsteps.
Michael had all of this information recorded. He knew this would be valuable to Dr. Killigan.

Chapter 8

Michael and Kiana were together in his car driving back to her house. Michael kept his mind closed off the whole time, just to make sure that she didn’t find out the plan. He read her mind periodically throughout the movie and the dinner to see what she thought. She kept thinking that she was having a good time and that she thought that he looked really hot in what he was wearing. He knew he did. Her hair was blowing behind her, she looked fantastic.
They finally arrived at her house. He slowed down the car and then it came to a stop. They sat in his car for a few seconds.
“I had a really great time today,” she said.
“Me too, maybe we could go out again this weekend or something.” he replied.
“Yeah we should,” she said back.
Michael moved closer and then Kiana inched forward. Their lips met and stayed there for a few seconds. She shifted back again. She looked into his brown eyes and progressed ahead again so that she kissed him again. He entered her mind and she thought ‘Wow, he’s a great kisser.’ He smiled. Obviously Kiana didn’t know that he was psychic so she simply returned his smile with another soft kiss. He kissed her back. They both moved away and leaned back into their chairs.
“I better go in now,” she reminded.
“Yeah,” he opened the door and stepped out of the driver’s seat. He walked around the front of the car and opened the passenger door. Kiana stepped out and took his hand. Together they walked hand in hand to her front door. They came upon the short steps that led into the house. They stopped and Michael gave her a good night kiss.
“Bye, see you tomorrow at school.” He said as he was heading to his car.
“You too,” she yelled back.

Kiana sleepily climbed up the stairs to her room. She passed Lana’s room where hip-hop music was playing loudly and Lana was dancing and practicing some cheerleading moves.
“Lana, don’t fall and trip now,” Kiana laughed.
“Ha ha, very funny Kiana, anyway, I saw the guy that brought you in. Who is that? He’s hot.”
“Lana, lay off my guy. His name is Michael Carver. He’s new to the school. He’s 17 but he’s in my grade. He was pulled back two years.”
“That’s perfect for me; I mean I’m 17 also. He’s much too old for you, I have to watch over my little sis since mom and dad can’t. I forbid you to go out with him.”
“Hmm, thanks for your concern, but no thanks. I’ll do fine, Lana. Plus, I don’t know why you want him; you have almost every senior guy eating out of the palm of your hand.”
“Well, it always helps to get more.” Lana said. Kiana scoffed and moved on to her room.
Kiana sprawled across her bed. She was slightly tired from her date but it was great. Michael was very courteous and quite humorous. He told her about his life when he was a child and how he had lived. She felt sympathy for him when he told her that when he was younger, his parents were to busy with keeping them rich with the business that they had barely any time for him. They always had a butler or a nanny to take care of him when they went off to business or an expensive vacation without him. He spent most of his holidays by himself inside the big mansion. He didn’t have any pets, because he wasn’t allowed. He also told her that the reason he told himself to go back two years to catch his parents attention, but that didn’t work. “They just hired a tutor for me and even more tutors for me so I could get better even though I knew perfectly all that I was learning,” he said. She felt like that she was about to cry but she forced the tears back. He had a rough life.
He also had asked her about her life. She was afraid to tell him about her life because it was the complete opposite of his. Her life had always been hunky-dory and peachy, it was almost perfect. She had a family that loved her, except for Lana that could be questionable. She had a few pets here and there, and now she had a cat that stayed outside named Disney. Her parents took her to a ton of places, including her homeland Hawaii and Japan. But as if he had read her mind, he said that it was ok, that it wouldn’t offend him, so she told him. He took it well and he had no slightest expression that it hurt him. Kiana liked him a lot because of his great personality and he was intelligent as well. He knew and comprehended so much that it astonished her why her teachers could not plainly see that he was able to move up grades.
She finally got out of bed and changed into her Snoopy pajamas. She went to brush her teeth and wash her face. She put the retainer in her mouth and went to bed. She took her flowered covered blankets and placed it over. She set her alarm and quickly fell into slumber.

Michael, while driving toward the Agency, was pondering over the night he just had with a stunning and bighearted girl. He liked her but he couldn’t combine his business life and personal life together, although it had already started. He was dating another girl from the Agency, who was about the same age as him. She was not psychic, but she captured the psychics, a CP, her kind of Agent was called. Her name was Monty. Monty did not apprehend Michael because she was not part of the Agency until after Michael was put in. Michael had fallen in love with her the moment he saw her. She was strikingly gorgeous but her attitude was at times vicious. She was extremely protective of whom she befriended and it took awhile for her to get accustomed to Michael’s love, but soon she loved him back. They kept their relationship discreet and it has been working. They haven’t been busted the whole time they have been together, because of their conscientiousness.
Anyway, he told Kiana all this crap about him that wasn’t even true to get her to think he was a poor teenager in need of some love, so she would open up. She believed everything and eventually broke. His family was great, he was rich, but he always got everything he wanted. When he left he was disappointed to leave his family but when he saw what the Agency had to offer, he quickly joined.
He arrived at the Agency parking lot that was deep in the outskirts of San Francisco, in a smaller town that many people didn’t know about. The Agency looked exactly like a regular business building and non- Agency people rarely stepped in. He got out of his car and walked smoothly towards the door. He slid his Agency ID card into the slot and the door made a beep sound. Michael pushed hard. He was greeted by fellow Agency workers. He strolled over to the elevator and pushed on floor number five. He leaned against the walls of the elevator until the doors opened to a lab filled with doctors with white lab coats on. The doctors were doing tests on the psychics. Michael met up with Dr. Killigan, the man who was in charge of seizing Kiana Kono and now Scott Harrison.
“Hello Doctor.” Michael said solemnly.
“Good evening, Michael. Have you gathered any information?”
“Yes, I have, it is very important. I found out that Mr. Scott Harrison is Ms. Kiana Kono’s best friend. Kiana tells me that she has known Scott for a long time.”
“That is interesting, have they said anything about their powers?”
“Well they haven’t said anything to me personally. Kiana, I suppose she is afraid of what people might think of her if she told anybody. She openly told Scott of course because after all he does have it also. Scott does not talk to me because it seems to me that he doesn’t like me much. Scott loves Kiana more than a best friend, but Kiana doesn’t notice it. I have taken Kiana on some dates and she seems to warm up to me. Scott seems to be a bit infuriated with this bit. However, I pinned a listening device on her jacket collar and I have everything that she and Scott have said about their powers recorded.” Michael gave Dr. Killigan the tape. The doctor played back the conversation.
“Ah, remarkable, obviously they are the ones that we need. Amazing work, Michael”
“I do have one problem though doctor. How are we supposed to grab hold of them?”
“It is necessary that we catch them both together because if one notices that the other is gone, which undoubtedly they will, one will tell the police and then the Agency will be in great danger. Let’s bring one of the best CP’s in the business.”
The next second later Monty ambled in.
“Michael, of course you know Monty.”
“Hello Monty,” Michael said without a smile, “how have you been?”
Monty returned the seriousness. “I am well, how about you?”
“I am well as well,” Michael replied, acting as if nothing was going on between them.
“Monty, as you might know,” Dr. Killigan interrupted, “we need assistance in detaining some psychics. In this case, we have two that need to be caught at the same time. They seem to be particularly well acquainted. Kiana Kono and Scott Harrison are they’re names.” On the giant flat screen computer were two pictures, one of Kiana and the other of Scott. “These photographs have been shot by some of the PA’s. Do you happen to have any ideas to go though with this mission?”
“I do indeed, doctor, I am always prepared.” This was one of the many things that Michael loved about Monty; she was constantly alarmed and ready for any kind of situation. Monty continued with her plan, “Since Michael seems to be dating Kiana, if I am correct, we get them to go on a double date. When they are in the car with us, we will whisk them away here.”
“It is an ideal plan, for certain, but Scott does not have a girlfriend.” Michael added in.
“Which is perfect, we cannot allow an innocent girl to be with him and when we catch them, she will be telling many about our mission. I insist that I be the double date for Scott so that it is two agents against two psychics. There will be less of a chance for them to escape.” ‘Brilliant,’ Michael thought, ‘absolutely brilliant.’
“Faultless, it is faultless. Thank you Monty, now I suppose that you and Michael discuss the details of this plan.”
“Undeniably we will, Dr. Killigan,” Michael said.
Michael and Monty went to the elevator. They did not speak in the elevator if there happened to be a camera. When they reached Michael’s car, they rushed into the back and started kissing passionately. (Obviously the top was up.) When they stopped, Monty was lying on top of Michael.
“I missed you, where have you been?” Monty asked.
“I should ask you the same question, where have you been?”
“Michael, you don’t answer a question with another question. As you know I am a CP and I have been doing my job.”
“I have as well; I am gathering information from the psychics and getting ready to capture them.”
“Yes, well, how come you never return to the Agency anymore?”
“I cannot possibly come to this town everyday from San Francisco, I would not like to spend my money on gas to come here everyday.”
“Not even to see me?” Monty asked feeling upset.
“Sometimes you are not even here; I don’t want to waste my gas for you not to be here, Monty. Plus, it is even more special that we see each other every once in awhile, instead of everyday.”
“I suppose you’re right.”
“Monty, can you please get the hell off of me?”
“That’s a nice way to treat your girlfriend.” Monty said sarcastically.
“I’m sorry but I’m kind of out of breath here.”
Monty, as slow as she could, started to get off of him.
“Monty, could you be any slower?” Monty laughed.
