This is my first fanfic! Be kind!
Define Fearless
Gaia was starting a new life. She was just another girl. She was normal. Well, almost, anyway. She was starting a new life with Jake. And with her father, Oliver, and Sam… kind of. And she wanted Ed in her “new life”. Just as a friend. A best friend, even. Just like they were before they got together. Which was why she was standing outside Ed’s apartment, having an inner debate about whether or not to ring the bell. What am I going to say? She wondered. Sighing, she decided she’d just tell the truth. She rang the doorbell.

Ed was just getting ready to leave for a date with Kai, thinking about what he was going to say to her. He knew he wasn’t attracted to her. And he certainly didn’t love her. He had to end the whole thing with Kai before she got too involved. He had to- the bell rang.
“Hello?” he asked.
“Uh… Ed? It’s um, Gaia?” The end of Gaia’s sentence sounded like a question, but Ed didn’t notice. Ed was struggling to breathe. Ed couldn’t breathe. “Ed?” Gaia sounded more confidant now, not to mention impatient.“Ed?” A million different scenarios ran through Ed’s head. He could turn her away; tell her he didn’t want her. But it would be a lie.
“Come on up,” he said, surprised he could even speak at all.
Twenty seconds later, he was staring into Gaia’s beautiful eyes as she stood near his doorway, hesitating.
“Why are you here?” Ed asked, and immediately winced as Gaia’s eyes widened.
“Ed, I-“ Gaia sighed. “I was wondering, I mean, I was thinking, maybe we could friends? I- I really miss you. I thought-“ Gaia sighed when she saw the look on Ed’s face and said “Never mind. I understand. I just-, well, I’ll just go then…”
“No! Gaia, wait! Just one thing.” Ed swallowed. “Gaia?”
Gaia hesitated. “Yeah?”
“When I call in the morning, I never, never want Jake to answer” Ed tried to smile but falied miserably.
Gaia grinned. “Got it.”

Craig Sanbatini read the review one last time before ripping it up into the smallest pieces humanly possible and throwing them onto the burning fireplace, then turned as Gabrielle entered the room.
“Sir?” she asked.
Craig, still both agitated and excited by the content of the review, turned to face her. “Yes?”
“Is it true?” she asked cautiously.
“Yuri is behind bars for the moment, but he won’t stay there. Oliver is containing Loki, but that will not last either. We need to act now.”
“Sir?” Gabrielle didn’t understand. “Act?”
Craig sighed, and said as calmly as he could “Send out the orders. I want them both dead by the end of the day. Or Yuri, at least. Loki might be harder.”
“Yes, sir” Gabrielle turned on her heels and walked out of the room. Ossie entered behind her, and immediately shut the doors and sat down in one of the armchairs in the vast room. Craig joined him, sitting down next to him with a sigh. Ossie was Sanbatini’s only real friend left in the world, and the only person he trusted.
“Update?” Ossie asked with a wry grin.
“The girl is definitely fearless,” Craig said with a laugh. “And she also completely unaware of her power, as well as the danger she is in if she does not realize her power.”
“Are you sure of the full extent of her power?” Ossie asked doubtfully.
Craig thought about it. “I know that her power has no limits. How far this will stretch has yet to be… seen. Loki, Enigma, Yuri, they all pulled her back. Tried to make her less powerful. They were scared of her power. They were scared of her fearlessness. And she simply doesn’t know. They kept her in ignorance, although they all hinted at it more than once.”
Ossie didn’t believe this. “Yuri and Loki, maybe even Agent Moore-“
Craig interrupted “Enigma.”
“-Enigma,” Ossie continued, “they wanted -want- her power. How would it help them to suppress it?”
Craig didn’t want to answer this because if Gaia realized the power she owned, the world would be at her feet so he just shrugged.
“Do you know what she could do?” Ossie tried again. “I mean, she couldn’t,” he paused “I don’t know, puch through steel, raise the dead, there-“
“Oh, but she could…” Craig said with a small smile. “She could. She has. She just doesn’t know it. She rearranged the universe, Ossie, she rearranged the universe with the power of her mind, Ossie, but she doesn’t even know it!”
“Who?” It was all Ossie could say at that moment.
“Sam Moon died five months ago.” Craig answered simply.
