I guess I started this thread because I still find it really weird and annoying that in the even the last fearless books, there's like an ad to "get your fearless fix at alloy.com" when Alloy hasn't been updating Fearless for the past like three or four years. I went on like yesterday and they have Kill Game in their book section, but they don't have sites for their books anymore...it just takes you to Amazon so you can buy the book.
Plus, it always bothered me that they cut stuff out of the Fearless Bios on www.alloy.com/fearless so now I don't have the Sam Moon info (like his song quote--Gaia's was from Fiona Apple).
But on another note, I went onto to simonsays to look up Fearless FBI and you can pre-order but not buy it even though it is obviously out. And then there's this weird ass Fearless FBI sweepstakes where the catchphrase to reel you in is like win Kill Game and a pair of Fearless FBI shorts. SHORTS!! Is that not weird? So I was looking at the lame questions they would make you answer just to see what they would be and it goes something like this:
1. Have you read any Fearless Books?
2. Have you ever read any other FP books?
3. If you answered yes to number 2, what books?
4. Do you watch Alias?
5. Are you aware that Alias books exist?
6. What are your preferred shorts size?
Is anyone else confused, or finds this totally weird? What's with the Alias part?
Yeah I saw that too..but whatever..
I don't think those questions are supposed to be Fearless infested in general, I t hink mainly they're taking a survey and doing whatever cheesy trap they can come up with to reel us in.

Alloy has never been very on the ball with the updating. They probably pay someone from some web design company to update the site every now and then. Someone who couldn't give a crap less if the site is sychronized with the events in the books. Iniatially the Fearless website was designed as a marketing ploy. It was the first time that a book series had it's own website featuring tie-in content and additional media to enhance your experience with the books. Longtime Fearless fans will remember the first Fearless website that featured a walking video "tour" of Gaia's NYC haunts (Washington Square Park, The Village, etc.) as seen through her eyes, poetry written by Gaia and a laptop feature that allowed you to read incharacter emails and recieve IM's from Ed. Around book 8 images started being replaced by little red x's and pages started going down. By the time they switched to the new orange format covers (book 13:Bad) Alloy had scrapped the site (though you could still get to it by typing in the URL very little content remained accessible) in favor of the current site. But by around book 18 even the new site wasn't being updated. Just the journal feature every few weeks or so.

That's because Fearless FBI is still published by an Alloy subsidiary, 17th Street Productions. They probably don't have any of the books instock but they still want to make money off of it so they send you to Amazon to buy it. Either way they still get the dough.

Yeah that is way weird. But the whole thing is just a ruse to gather marketing intel. They needed something to have as a prize so they could call it a sweepstakes. The cheap bastards probably just went out and bought a bunch of navy blue nylon track shorts and had "FBI" screenprinted on them. I'll bet it cost them all of 35 bucks. They could have at least had Francine autograph the Kill Game copies. But they're too cheap to even do that. They could have had notebooks with pictures of Gaia and the Fearless FBI silhouette on it or something slightly more relevant than shorts but whatever. And here's my interpretation of those stupid questions:
"1. Have you read any Fearless Books?"
Do you even know what this sweepstakes is about or do you just like free shit? Can we squeeze any money out of you?
"2. Have you ever read any other FP books?"
Can we squeeze any more money out of you for books by the same author? Are you dumb enough to read anything we put out by them?
"3. If you answered yes to number 2, what books?"
Were you dumb enough to shell out the money for all 300 Sweet Valley books? Or were you too cheap to buy em all?
"4. Do you watch Alias?"
Do you like those FBI spy-type shows and can we squeeze money out of you for their book versions?
"5. Are you aware that Alias books exist?"
Because you should go out and buy them and give us more money!! Go buy them now you mindless little sheep!! Give us your money!! MONEY!!!!
"6. What are your preferred shorts size?"
Cause we have to keep up this bogus sweepstakes charade. Though really, we could care less people.
Keep in mind that Simon Says also publishes the Alias book series. And I'm sure that their marketing department showed them some study that says that because we like Fearless we will undoubtedly like Alias. Because we are the idiot teenage demographic. Sorry I have to go now. I need to reread my Alias books.
