Prologue
My name is Melissa. Hi! I live in Miami. Let me describe myself. I am 17 turning 18 soon; I am a senior at a very expensive private school called Ransom Everglades in Coconut Grove, Miami. I have green blue eyes and I have blond wavy hair. Not dirty blond and not white blond either, I’m kind of in between. (I hate that it’s wavy, by the way, I wish I was born with straight or curly hair. One of them, it doesn’t matter but I do all kinds of stuff to make it either.) Anyway, I am five foot three, which is the perfect height for the perfect hobby. I do cheerleading. Basically, I am your stereotype dumb blond cheerleader, except I am not dumb. At least I don’t think so. My parents are extremely wealthy and I live in a huge mansion in a large guarded neighborhood called Cocoplum. My full name is Melissa Elizabeth Rich and no, I am not related to Richie Rich. Here is the story of how one day somebody told me something and how it changed my whole entire perfect beautiful life. I liked my life the way it was and when this person told me that I was a vampire slayer, let me tell you, I was definitely not a happy teenager.
