Title: Finished Shattered Darkness

Dark Angel - February 21, 2005 11:11 PM (GMT)
I FINALLY FINISHED! YIPEE!

Shattered Darkness

1. Test

Sheniqua walked through the door of her house and came across the usual yelling of her parents, and went upstairs.
“I’m not going to take any of your bullshit anymore!” Sheniqua’s mother, Alex, yelled. And the front door slammed.
“Ya bitch!” her dad, Michael, yelled.
While in her room, Sheniqua heard loud footsteps coming up he stairs. “Joy,” she thought. “My turn.”
Her door swung open and slammed the wall so hard that the door practically came off the hinges.
“See what you did? Ya no good worthless piece of shit!” he yelled at the top of his lungs.
“What did I do?” Sheniqua yelled back. “What did you do?” he started in a calm voice. “WHAT DID YOU DO?” he yelled. “Stop acting like your stupid ass bitch mother. What is this?”
He held up Sheniqua’s history exam from last wee. It had a big fat F written on it. “I did not raise my daughter to get grades like this!”
“No wonder, I’m following your footsteps,” she mumbled. “What did you just say?” Michael asked her.
Silence.
“BITCH!” he screamed and he punched her right in the nose, hard. Sheniqua started bleeding. Sheniqua felt blood rushing out of her nose. Her anger boiled up inside her. “Basterd!”

She kicked her dad’s legs and made him fall. She ran out of her room and out the front door.
She started running down the dark streets of LA, tears streaming down her face.
“YOU AND YOUR BITCH ASS MOTHER DON’T EVER COME BACK HERE!” she could hear him yelling at her.
But she kept running, and running until she couldn’t run anymore. Sheniqua had no idea where she was. Nor did she care. As long as she was far away from her sick father.
She leaned up against a wall and fell. She closed her eyes and remembered. She remembered when it all started.

2. Beginnings

Sheniqua was 13, and in the 7th grade. Her mom was a psychiatrist. Her dad was a doctor. They lived in a small city right outside of San Francisco.
One rainy April afternoon, Sheniqua was doing her homework in the kitchen while her mom was cooking dinner.
Michael staggered in with an empty bottle of Bud Light in his hands. His hair was messy and his eyes were bloodshot red.
“Honey, you’re home early,” Alex said not facing him. She wiped her hands on a kitchen towel and turned to face him. “What happened?”
“You, you never, ever help with…ANYTHING around the…house. I ALWAYS…do EVERYTHING,” he said pausing after every few words. “Honey,” Alex said.
“And you,” Michael said turning towards Sheniqua.
She flinched from her father’s wretched breath. “You are a worthless piece of shit that can’t do worth crap.”
“MICHAEL,” Alex said sternly. “You shut up. This doesn’t concern you,” and he punched her in the face. Alex fell to the ground with a bloody mouth.
Michael started coming after Sheniqua. She got up from the table and backed away from her drunk father. Michael pushed all of Sheniqua’s books off the table and broke the end of his beer bottle. He headed straight towards Sheniqua bottle first. She ran.
“OOMPF!”
Michael fell to the ground. Behind him was Alex, looking angry. She held a frying pan above her. Sheniqua yelped with pain. She just realized that she had gotten a cut from the bottle.
Alex dropped the pan and grabbed her daughter and ran out the door.

3. Diary: Sheniqua

I’ve never really had flashbacks of my life before. Especially during that
period of my life. I never really think about what my dad does or did. Or
why. That day my dad had lost his job at the hospital. So yea he was pissed
but that doesn’t mean he should turn into an alcoholic and take out his
anger on us. My mom, well I guess she left me to his wrath. I wouldn’t
quite blame her either. I would too, but I would take my daughter with
me. But thins happen for a reason I guess.
I also never thought about running away before. My mother and I
have tried it many times. But my dad always found us. Every time he had
some problem where he needed to take his anger out on something. More
like someone. But now, I have to do this on my own and stay away from
him. But what I never got was why we never went to the police. I never got
why mom never went to them. But either way, I’m leaving once again. And this time my dad will not fine me.

4. 1st Encounter: Los Angles

Sheniqua opened her eyes. Her face was wet from the silent crying. She closed her eyes again.
Alex and Sheniqua moved to Los Angles and stayed there peacefully for about 2 years. One cold January night, Alex and Sheniqua were eating dinner when the doorbell rang.
“Expecting anyone?” Alex asked Sheniqua
Sheniqua shook her head.
Alex got up to answer the door.
While in the kitchen, Sheniqua heard voices. She recognized the person’s voice that her mother was talking to. But she couldn’t place who it was. The voices turned from talking into shouting.
It was then Sheniqua realized that her mother was talking to the one person she hated the most. She got up and grabbed the phone. 9-1…
She heard a scream and a loud crash. Footsteps were coming closer to the kitchen. Sheniqua ran for it. She ran out the back door and to the front of the house. Sheniqua peeked in through the front window of the house. No one was there. She snuck back into the house and found her on the floor unconscious. Something inside the kitchen crashed. Footsteps were coming closer to them in the foyer.
“Mom,” Sheniqua whispered. “Moooom. Get up.”
The foyer door swung open.
Michael looked around the empty foyer. He screamed and slammed his fist into the hallway mirror. Sheniqua was hiding in a dark alley with her mother. She heard crashes inside the house. The front door opened and Michael walked out.
5. Diary: Michael

Damn. I let them get away. Again. I want those two dead. Even if its the last thing I do. Those two made my life a living hell. And I want them to pay. After losing my job two years ago, I blamed it on them. Which is partially true, I guess. They never helped around the house so I had to
come home early and do their work for them. And since I was a doctor
I did have to work overtime for while. So I got fired because I couldn’t.
But now they are going to pay for what they did. And they’re
going to pay with their lives. And I will be the one to take it from them.

6. Phone Call

To get away from Michael, Alex and Sheniqua moved to Chicago and stayed there undetected by Michael for about a year.
One night, Sheniqua had her boyfriend, John, come over. They were home alone watching Saw.
After the movie was over, Sheniqua asked John if he wanted something to eat.
“Sure,” John replied.
In the kitchen the phone started ringing.
“Hello?” Sheniqua said. “I know where you are,” the other line replied. “Where are you?” Sheniqua shouted into the phone.
John walked into the kitchen. “Where are you?” she shouted again. “Sheniqua, what’s wrong? Who is it?” John asked. The other line went dead. Sheniqua slammed the phone down with frustration.
“Uh, John. You’re going to have to go now. My mom is on her way home and I’m sure she doesn’t want to find you here when she gets home.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yea,” Sheniqua said showing him to the door. She kissed him on the cheek and said, “I’ll call you tomarrow.”
Once Sheniqua bid him goodbye, she went around the house and locked every window and entrance to the house. She grabbed a knife from the kitchen and ran upstairs. Some started banging on the front door.
Sheniqua ran into her room and looked out her window. There he was. Her dad was at the front of the house with a gun in his hands.
CRASH!
The front door came down.

7. 2nd Encounter: Chicago

From her room, Sheniqua could hear her dad walking around the house and opening every door and checking everywhere and everything. She could hear pots and pans falling. Glass, plates, boxes, pictures, silverware, everything in her house come crashing down to the ground.
