Title: Walking through the woods
Description: Singing softly to herself

Loa - July 30, 2003 01:15 PM (GMT)
Loa walked through the woods in there golden radiance singing softly to herself. Otherwise being completely silent. She carried a small basket of herbs she was taking to her mother, a healer.

Telpelote - August 15, 2003 09:01 PM (GMT)
Ellote Lomelire was sitting in the upper boughs of a great mallorn tree, musing on her past. The topic of her past upset her grealty, but she could never stop thinking about her days in Nargothrond...
Her thoughts were disturbed by the faint sound of singing, far below her. Lomelire froze, listening to the voice. The voice was definitely that of an Elf, but she had thought that no one would be coming through this part of the woods of Lothlorien. She debated with herself, wondering if she dared go down to meet the stranger. It was not her habit to introduce herself to those she knew not, but her years of solitude had created a longing for company in her heart. As the voice grew closer, the longing increased. She decided to to talk to the stranger. She climbed down the tree as fast as she possibly could without startling the other person, jumped the last ten feet and alighted softly on the ground. The stranger was just approaching the tree.
"Hello," said Lomelire. "What are you doing around here?"

Loa - August 18, 2003 08:12 PM (GMT)
Loa seemed very little startled that someone had just jumped out of the tree in front of her. She found that habit slightly rude, but in Lothlorien you grew used to it....
Trying to be polite, as was the way of healers, she curtsied quickly. "Im Loa, Fallener o Lorien" She said, indicating that she was returning the question. She assumed that the elf could speak elvish, it was a strange one that came into Lorien with no knowlege of the native tongue. Loa was a healer, thats how she knew any of the common tongue, but she was not advanced enough to speak well in it.

Telpelote - August 19, 2003 01:39 AM (GMT)
Lomelire was slightly taken aback by the curtsey, but understood that as a healer, Loa was trying to be polite. She also percieved that Loa was slightly startled by her sudden appearance. Trying to make amends, Lomelire also curtsied, and replied, "My name is Lomelire. I too am a healer, and also a loremaster. I apologize for startling you. I have not had contact with an Elf for many long years..." she trailed off. She did not wish to discuss her past at the moment. "I have never seen another Elf in this part of the Lothlorien. That is why I picked this tree for my home." She paused, thinking that she sounded quite reclusive. "But I think I would like a friend after my years of solitude..." she murmured, thinking out loud. She realized what she had said, and looked down at her feet hastily, waiting for Loa to respond.

Loa - August 19, 2003 01:46 AM (GMT)
"For having such little contact with others you sure seem able to read there thoughts" said Loa. "And what is such a learned one doing so far away from anyone who might profit from youre wisdom? What is the use of a Loremaster that hides in a distant tree keeping to herself?" Loa did not mean to be rude, she was merely curious.

Telpelote - August 19, 2003 01:55 AM (GMT)
Lomelire replied,"I was able to tell that you were startled by my appearance because I have lived many many years. But I have isolated myself for... reasons..." She took a deep breath and continued,"I once lived in Nargothrond and suffered towards the end of its days and found that I might have been happier living alone..."

Loa - August 19, 2003 09:14 PM (GMT)
Loa listened wuitly, nodding her head. "Are you?" she asked when Lomelire was finished speaking. She couldnt see why anyone would prefer solitude.. the idea scared her.

Telpelote - August 20, 2003 12:40 AM (GMT)
Lomelire sighed. She really, really did not want to go into details right now about her past. Maybe she would talk about it later, once she knew Loa better, if that would ever come to happen. It had taken a lot of courage for her to even say that she had lived in Nargothrond. She picked her words carefully when she next spoke. "I know it is strange for one to live alone for as long as I have, but the I will not here discuss why I have chosen this path." She paused, thinking hard how to best phrase what she next wanted to say. "Of late, though, I have felt the need for company. That is why I came down from my perch to speak with you," she finished. She realized that her reclusive lifestyle was a somewhat... well, disturbing. But she really, really wanted to be able to connect with Loa somehow.

Huiva - August 25, 2003 09:45 PM (GMT)
A jet black raven soared high above The Outskirts of Lorien. An odd site, here, in the golden wood. Huiva was painfully aware of how obvious she was. Only her intense thirst had led her to break the barier... an intensely difficult task. And even in a strong stage she would be able to get little closer to the city...
She stopped. She sensed life below. She Flew through the canopy layer of pure golden leaves and went down and down, casting a veil of shadow upon herself. Then she leaped. And mid leap she changed. And she bit into the side of the dark haired elves neck. She took no pleasure in her hunting, but she was a vampire, and must follow their ways.

Telpelote - August 25, 2003 09:52 PM (GMT)
Lomelire screamed when the thing- which she assumed was a vampire, since she knew of no other creature that attacked others' necks- bit her in the neck. Normally, she would have grabbed up her bow and hit the thing over the head to dislodge it; but her bow was up on her talan. She started beating the vampire with her fists in an attempt to dislodge it, and she looked to Loa, hoping she would help to get rid of the vampire. "Help me! Please!" she gasped.

Huiva - August 25, 2003 10:05 PM (GMT)
Huiva was sucking fast, trying to get enough blood to sustain her a while before she was attacked and forced to flee. Her hunger must have driven her into delirium.. for she never attacked someone in a group, even just a pair. It was a dangerous situation. She couldnt stay long.
Once again she wished she had learned the ways of temporary paralysis or amnesia, so she could attack victems in there sleep, which was easy.

Loa - August 25, 2003 10:09 PM (GMT)
Loa had drawn her dagger when Lomelire screamed. And she had looked around frantically for the source of her distress. But now she was screaming for help and Loa could see nothing wrong. And she knew it was not a good idea to wildly jab and slash her knife at a mysterious invisible creature attacking someone....

"What is it?" She yelled? "I can't see it!"

Telpelote - August 26, 2003 10:28 PM (GMT)
Lomelire suddenly realized that since the creature must be a vampire that Loa would not be able to see it. She only then realized that she couldn't see it either. "Vampire!" she gasped. Her eyes landed on Loa's dagger. "Give me your dagger!" she said in a raspy voice. She was starting to get dizzy from blood loss. She didn't know how much longer she would be able to stand. She had to get the thing off her.

Huiva - August 26, 2003 10:48 PM (GMT)
No! Not a Dagger! Huiva thought to herself in her most extreme thought wave level. She realised to late that as elves, being higher life forms, the two would be able to hear such an intense thought in a strange voice both high pitched - squeaky and batlike- and raspy at the same time. It would be embarrasing. If she had remembered she would have thought to controll her mind.
But she had worse things to worry about. She really did think that, and so she decided it was time for her to leave. She began to close the wound so she could fly off.

Loa - August 26, 2003 10:50 PM (GMT)
Loa handed her the dagger as fast as she could.

Telpelote - August 26, 2003 11:00 PM (GMT)
Lomelire took the dagger from Loa, but she dropped it. She also heard a voice inside her head, a strange voice, saying "No! Not a dagger!" She was feeling the pain on her neck decrease, so she wondered if the vampire was leaving. But just in case, she kicked the dagger off the ground and caught it in her hand. "Get off me or I WILL use the dagger. I swear to you, I will!" she rapsed, hoping the threat would scare it off. Since she couldn't see it, she was afriad she would miss and strike herself if she used the dagger. She couldn't even see visible things clearly anymore- everything was getting blurry. She started to feel faint...

Huiva - August 27, 2003 02:19 AM (GMT)
Screeching Huiva leapt from her perch and turned into a raven mid jump, flying away so fast she slammbed into the golden leaves and got herself covered with the polen. That had not turned out the way she had wanted it too. But she had eaten. She was content. Maybe she would do better next time. There was always that hope. Even Vampires have hope.

Telpelote - August 27, 2003 10:10 PM (GMT)
Lomelire knew that the vampire had gone, because she didn't feel any pressure on her kneck anymore. "It's gone," she said softly. Then she sank against the closet mallorn tree. She felt her neck with her hand- she knew it would be sore for a while, but she wanted to feel what damage had been done. "Could you look at my neck for a minute, Loa? I can't really see it, so could you just tell me what state the wound is in?"

Telpelote - September 9, 2003 01:51 AM (GMT)
Lomelire stopped speaking for a moment, because her sharp ears a picked up a noise in the air. She recognized the cry of her eagle Thorondor, and she smiled. She held her arm up as he swooped down, and he landed on it. "Hello, Thorondor. You always come when I am in trouble, mellon nin," she whispered to him, stroking his back. "Loa, is the wound closed? I think that vampires sometimes close the wounds of their victims, or so I've heard..." she asked again. She felt her neck again, trying to figure out if the wound was closed on her own. She drew her hand back and there was some blood on it, but she still did not know what the wound was like. She hoped it wasn't too bad...

Loa - September 13, 2003 01:26 AM (GMT)
Loa carefully inspected the wound and found to her suprise that it was almost completely healed. "You were right" She said. "It must have been a vampire after all."

Telpelote - September 16, 2003 01:04 AM (GMT)
"Well, it could have been worse, if you had not been here. Thank you for helping me. If there is any way I can be of service to you..." she said, bowing slightly. She really did mean it. If Loa had not been there to lend her the knife, she could have been in really big trouble.

Elindomiel - November 5, 2003 02:37 AM (GMT)
Loa was slightly embarressed. She returned with a shallow curtsy. "No ones ever offered me their service before..." she started

Telpelote - November 6, 2003 03:05 AM (GMT)
Lomelire paused for a moment, then said, "I just wanted to thank you in a really big way. Truly." Thorondor flew off her arm and sat on a branch, watching the two Elves. She glanced up to make sure he wasn't leaving just yet, because she liked having him around.

Telpelote - December 23, 2003 03:12 AM (GMT)
Suddenly Thorondor screeched and flew into the air fast as lightning. Lomelire sighed; she always missed him when he was gone. He was her best- and only- friend. That's just pathetic, she thought to herself. Your only friend is an eagle who's gone half the time. She looked back at Loa: "I suppose you'll be going on your way now?" she said, half questioningly. She didn't rightly know if she wanted Loa to stay or leave. She didn't rightly know if she even liked living in such a reclusive state. She didn't know if she was willing to risk going out into the world again... she'd lost the three most dear to her in less than a year, and she didn't want anything like that to happen again. But maybe she would start wandering a bit. It was nice to actually speak with beings who used the same language. Thorondor was a great listener, but he couldn't really offer good advice... Lomelire smiled inwardly and waited for Loa's choice.

Telpelote - January 17, 2004 08:36 PM (GMT)
Thorondor screeched again, and Lomelire's heart jumped: it was the screech he used when he was in trouble. She looked up and scanned the skies, but she couldn't see him. Perhaps he was stuck in the tree... but no, how could that happen?

"If you will excuse me," she said, bowing a little. "I must see to my eagle." Loa hadn't responded anyway, so she didn't feel like she was being rude. She climbed the tree quickly, up past her talan, and saw Thorondor sitting on a branch quietly.

"What did you want?" she asked him reproachfully. He looked at her with his eagle's farseeing eyes, and then made a small sound, almost a request for her to stay there. He flew off then, and she was left sitting on a branch fifty feet above the ground to wait for him. She hoped Loa wouldn't wait for her to come back down, because she had no idea how long Thorondor would take to return.

Elindomiel - January 18, 2004 03:26 AM (GMT)
Loa climbed up the tree after her, hoping she wouldnt find it rude. The eagle sounded as if he was in trouble, and she wanted to be able to help if her help was needed. She wasnt as quick as Telpelote was in the tree, but when she reached the talan she rather breathlessly asked, "Is he ok?"

Telpelote - January 18, 2004 09:21 PM (GMT)
Lomelire was so suprised to see that Loa had followed her that she almost fell off the branch. "Yeah, he's fine. I'm not sure what's up, though. It seemed like he wanted me to wait here for something, but then he flew off. I don't know what got into him." She sighed, then added, "He's never done that before- usually he just comes and goes without bothering to tell me anything."

Telpelote - January 21, 2004 02:36 AM (GMT)
((OOC(btw, just in case u don't remember, the character's name is Lomelire, not Telpelote... i made this account before i realized the character's name and the account name are usually the same...)))

Lomelire sighed a little. How long had she been here? Nearly six thousand years she thought. What a waste of time, she sometimes thought, but as long as she didn't get herself killed, she had all the time in the world. Though perhaps she'd go to Valinor soon... she just might. But anyway...

"I've been here so long the years run together in my head," she said simply. Realizing a little late that most people expected more of an answer than that, she said, "Probably close to six thousand... maybe a little less. I am quite old, I suppose." Well, maybe not so old now that she thought about it. She had been born in Nargothrond, after all. So she was probably around 6,500. Give or take a few years.

In an attempt to turn the conversation from herself, she asked, "Have you always lived in Lothlorien, or are you relatively new here?"
