Title: Searching for a meal
Description: Kia and Keto from original

Kyra Goldeye - November 10, 2003 02:44 AM (GMT)
Keto rounded a corner and looked around, then he ducked into a small alley and walked through the shadows to a small hole in the wall covered by a peice of dark, almost black cloth. He pulled it aside stepped through, making sure that Kia was following. He motioned to the pile of dried hay and mosses in the corner, covered by thin cloth and one thinck comfortable blanket, indicating for her to sit down . He then said, "It's no' much, but it's 'ome."

The room was small, walls made of stone, floor made of hard packed dirt. The cot... errr, soft cushy bed like thing, was in the far corner. A small food box made of thin metal sat across from the bed and next to it a bucket. There was a small perch, crudly carved, and very home-made looking, that sat next to a tiny window that was almost on the ceiling. There was a pair of extra clothes that were, if possible, more shaggy then the ones keto was wearing and were ovbviously starting to get close to done-with for thier current use, which were strewn across the floor. Keto was obviously a thief for there were four ways to get in and out of the room. There was the hole they had entered by, the window, a small hole in the roof over the bed, and a hole behind the food box which was barely visible.

Keto smiled and carried the bucket of to-clean water to kia, not giving any indication of where it came from, "I woul' give ya foo' bu' th' box is emp'y, I 'ad sligh' run-in wit' a' angry stall owna." He grinned and sat down on the bed.

Kyra Goldeye - January 2, 2004 07:46 PM (GMT)
(ooc( for all following, the big chunk missing in the middle is in a notebook at my house, sry!))

Keto looked at her, watching her for signs of her occupation.

"Journeyman, eh? Wha' type o' journeyman?" He questioned, his eyes never leaving hers. 'Goddess of thieves and scoundrels, she is beautiful... Those eyes...' He thought, with no thought to the mind readers and thought senses among the nobles class. 'and she is so... I dunno, I have never felt so, careless before.' Mentally pinching himself he napped out of the trance he was in.

"Why did you decide to venture to Rohan?" He interrogated once more. not looking her straight in the but through his eye lashes. as he took a piece of the slightly stale bread and dipping it in the butter. Taking a large bit he revealed in his steal.

Elindomiel - January 7, 2004 10:42 PM (GMT)
Very ouy of practice I be.... Especially with Kia. So, suprise, Im not going to post at the moment as kia. hehe. :) I am going to post as usagi chan because she is fun to rp and she might make me happy :). Its funny because when you read this you are going to be mad but you are sitting here not reading it yet and telling me about a body of water and some humanity stuff.

Maybe I wont post as usagi chan though because I seemed to have gotten *most* of the random urge out of my system so here we go...

"Boring little trade, you wont of heard of it." she said. she was on the border of lying, had even crossed over the border. But she finally decided it was nessesary to keep him from asking another question too soon. It would sound nothing like her current trade, and keep suspicians away.

"My mum and dad got me into it, its in our family. Not too exciting, but steady" she said shortly. "And what about you? What are you planning to do with youre life?" she said, changing the question abrubtly. She was getting uncomfertable. This boy was dodging her questions. No, more like reflecting them - back at her. Well, two could play at that game....

Elindomiel - January 7, 2004 11:10 PM (GMT)
Keto relized she had answered in a as roundabout way as she could but that could be for a number of reasons, she could have a very embarressing, or even just boring. Boring, unknown... same difference in his eyes. He shrugged at her question, "I got no clue... me fathe' said I should work as a soilder. He says I got good aim wit' a long dagge'" Of course this was a total lie, seeing as how he had only ever used a throwing dagger and he didn't know his father.

'She looks nervous, jumpy. Maybe it is me. Maybe I shouldn't ask questions anymore. Let her do the talking. Godess of thieves. I dunno. I feel like I know her somehow.'

At that moment a bird flew through the open ceiling to land on the perch, twisting its head under his feathers to become more comftorable. It was the raven that Keto had called Wethil earlier that day. He sighed thinking, 'Took him long enough. Must be bad night for hunting...'

Elindomiel - January 7, 2004 11:35 PM (GMT)
Kia nodded, but something about the story didnt seem right. Stories with holes....

She didnt suspect him of lying outright, not yet anyway, but assuming this was the truth, it raised questions. And where are his parents now, she wondered, looking around the broken down shack, and poor food - not with distaste and disgust, but with honest confusion.

She had heard of people being poor in the cities, but that didnt answer the question... perhaps his parents were dead and he was too proud to take charity so instead took to the streets.

Perhaps it was the truth of a different time, perhaps now he lived on the streets and was some sort of begger... No, too much food for a begger. She frowned slightly, thinking. There were probably jobs here she didnt even know about. Perhaps this was the property of some relative or something he was allowed to live on, or maybe he payed some farmer for use of the shack. Maybe he had just started and hadnt had a chance to pick it up nice yet. Or perhaps he didnt care about such things. And the food... well perhaps he simply hired himself out as some cheap labor, cleaned houses or the like. True, he didnt seem the type, but it made more sense than other theories. Or he could do something against the law, stalking and the like, which is why he was dodging her aims. Whatever he did, It was clear that he got just enough to stay alive and didnt seem bothered by that. Kind of like herself, she thought with the shadow of a smile.

Or he could be lying, completely and utterly.

Nah.

She decided to narrow down some of her options. "Where are they now?" she asked suddenly after the breif silence, than, as an afterthought, added "Youre parents..."

Elindomiel - January 7, 2004 11:52 PM (GMT)
"around... got thier own problems ta worry 'bout..." He offered a brief smile, before heading back down his road of neutral expressions, never giving his thoughts away. Keto stood, swivling on his heals to the bucket of wather in the corner. From the he petted the bird briefly before pulling out a cup. It was tall, with designs going around the outside. All glass, the cup was unusually placed in this surrounding. He dipped it in the water, taking a sip of the lukewarm and slightly stale bevrage. He filled the cup and brought it back to where Kia sat, setting the cup down,

"'M sury I only got one cup. Don' often have visiters these days..." He took a peice of bread, dipping it in the thin butter.

"Where be ya stayin' while in these parts?"

'She seems so secritive... I guess every one has something to hide though. Mine just happens to be I'm a thief. Who knows what hers is. Maybe she is a whore... or maybe she is a spy. The people around here have gotten enough stollen lately

Kyra Goldeye - January 11, 2004 03:09 AM (GMT)
Kia started to nod at his response, it seemed to make some since, at least. She started, ackwardly, to consider her answer to his questions, when he spoke again.

"....I'm a theif, and she is a whore...."

Kia sat up strait mid bite, forgetting herself in her fury. "I may be a theif, I may even do worse when need calls, but I am... no Whore...." she shuddered. Even in the greenwood... there were no whores. She looked at Keto hard, daring him to repeat that... that thing he had said............

Kyra Goldeye - January 11, 2004 03:22 AM (GMT)
"wha....?" Keto's mind was racing... how could she... this girl... this kia.... She had read? my mind? That was wrong... only highborn and mages could do that... read minds and know your soul. That was unnatural. He could tell she was angry too, she heard his thought, but only a piece, only the bit that made it sound worse.... She knew... she knew he had said she could be a whore.

'Thankee Goddess that hadn't heard the rest... the part about me.' He shuddered.

"No, You don't understand! How did you read my mind? Only the mages can do that."

'Shes a thief... she has to be... why else would this girl be here talking and reading my thoughts... then again, she wouldn't have gotten angry and revealed it...' Again he was lost in thought, still not sure how she had done it.

"MY THOUGHTS ARE PRIVATE! THEY ARE NOT FOR YOU!"

Kyra Goldeye - January 11, 2004 03:26 AM (GMT)
"If they are private, than keep them so and share them not aloud!" Kia said, anger flashing bright red even against her vision. She stood up, stood so fast that everything went black for a moment. "How can you expect me to let you call me a whore, right before me, plain as day?"

P.s. Kia is mad so she doesnt think to much at the time, this part should go fast as we are fighting and not have long posts.

Elindomiel - January 14, 2004 02:09 AM (GMT)
KYRIE!!!!!!!!!!!11

Kyra Goldeye - January 17, 2004 05:53 PM (GMT)
Keto could fel his temper rising, "I DIDN' CALL YA A WHORE!" He screamed, "I AM JUS' SITTIN HERE EATIN AND YOU SAY A DID SUMTHIN I DIDN'!" His face was flushed. He couldn't understand this.

"HOW CAN YOU READ MY THOUGHTS?!" his eyes were searing in anger...

Elindomiel - January 18, 2004 02:36 AM (GMT)
"Stupid boy! Do you honestly expect me to let you call me a whore? You say I read youre mind but I dont even know how to do that! I am not going to stand here and be insulted like this. I know what I heard"

Kyra Goldeye - January 19, 2004 04:03 AM (GMT)
"YES YOU DID!!! I SWEAR ON THE GODDESS THAT I DIDN'T SAY IT!" He glared at her. 'Swear on the goddess I do....'

Kyra Goldeye - January 19, 2004 04:06 AM (GMT)
"alright lets say I did read youre mind, which I didnt. What you going and thinking me a whore than? Eh? And who is this goddess? You said something else too... youer a theif are you? And Im a whore is that it?" She was repeating herself. That happens a lot when you are mad.

Copy and paste from any of the last 7 or so posts:

She was mad. Red flashed in her eyes. She was flushed with anger......

Kyra Goldeye - January 19, 2004 04:15 AM (GMT)
Fear showed itself in his eyes as he heard her last statement. She had heard, she had heard his thoughts, there was no possible way it was coincidence.

"You'v read my mind an' unnatural it is! You shouldn' be allowe' do enter tha' space! that is mine!" He was scared, she couldn't know. If she was in his thoughts this could turn ugly.

"The goddess in mine! An' mine alone thankee veree much!"

He was growling out these words, trying to scare her away from the prospect of him being a thief.

Kyra Goldeye - January 19, 2004 04:22 AM (GMT)
Kia was not fazed. It was the way she had grown up, besides she was just as mad, although something had changed. It had changed for both of them, she realised, the moment she told him she knew he was a theif. Some of the anger was gone.

For Keto it had been replaced by fear, for Kia, understanding. " So.. that is where you got the food?" she asked almost absentmindedly, choosing to ignore Keto (he was repeating himself) and was basically talking to herself. He was cute when he was angry... she realised suddenly, but let the thought slide away.

Kia glanced around the hut. It all made since, now. And now, there was nothing to hide, she realised. He didnt know, about her. She looked up, trying to find a way to break the ice. Keto was fuming, but Kias face had cleared, and now the ghost of a smile touched upon it.

"...We worship the same goddess " she said simply, trusting he would understand.

Kyra Goldeye - January 19, 2004 04:30 AM (GMT)
"You can'--- WHAT?!" He turned his attention to her imediattly. The statement didn't make sence. "You worship.... You worship the goddess of theives and scoundrels? Where did you learn of her? Are you a... a-a thief?" His eyes were wide and his face was as white as a ghosts. He couldn't believe this new development. There was too much against it.

Then he realized that is she was a thief then she wouldn't mind. She would know the code, he wouldn't have to worry about her any more, she might even be able to carry her own.

"Woul' ya swear on your life tha' ya were a thief?"

"Where di' ya come from then? really?"

Kyra Goldeye - January 19, 2004 04:37 AM (GMT)
"I would"she said, with absolute seriousness. There was no hesitation. She had to trust that he was one before she would have said that, but she didnt need to consider whether she did or not now. She had done that before, staring around the little hut, and if she hadnt trusted she would have never told him that.

She chose not to answer his second question yet. She could only deal with one at a time.

"I would" She stared at him out of blue eyes strangely like his own. Big eyes are strange, especially the blue ones. Eyes widened in fear, and those who have never felt fear have wide eyes as well. But one who is wise, or travelled, and has gone breathed and worn, wh is on theire gaurd, theire eyes will be thin, yet pretty as well, sparkling of theire own inner light.

Kyra Goldeye - January 19, 2004 05:43 AM (GMT)
Keto believed her. There was no hesitation in her voice, her eyes did not lie. She was truthful, perfectly truthful.

"'ere do ya come frum then?" He knew her story couldn't be completely true. She had to have had a mentor to teach any skill she had. He had Sniper, he had trusted the boy. She had to have someone.

Narrowing his eyes he watched her. Now that he thought about it, she did seem to act like a thief. She was alert, seuspicious. She seemed to be able to detect the smaller hints that no noble could ever know. He granted her a weak grin, hoping she would accept his peace offering.

Kyra Goldeye - January 19, 2004 05:57 AM (GMT)
" I came from Mirkwood, as I said. "From the clan of the Greenwood. I was taught by the elves, and other humans." She hesitated for a moment, wondering how in depth she should go. Then she decided to go all the way, to tell all. None of it was really secret, and already she felt... close... to him.

Why do I feel like I know him? Not so much as if I have met him, but as if I was meant to meet him.

"We werent originally a theiving clan..." she began. She told Keto about how it had been formed, to cater to all those not welcome in the forest, and how they began to speciallise and teach, until they began specialising as a clan. She hoped Keto would tell her about his past too, though maybe he wansnt ready. She was suprising herself by how open she was being, but she hadnt had a chance to talk like this since she left mirkwood, and even there.... And of course it wasnt as if she was being all that open, not talking about her personal life, just about the clan...

Always homeless, always familyless, mostly friendless. In the clan she had community, but it could never be a true family. She had a roof, even in the form of a tent, over her head, but it could never be a true home. She had laughed with her mentors, had some adventures with the other trainees, but they could never be true friends. Wethril was the only one close to her age... but they had never connected, and then she had left.......

Kyra Goldeye - January 19, 2004 06:07 AM (GMT)
Keto listened to her description of her clan. He had heard of groups like that, clans where they taught people to be thieves. He shrugged as she finished,

"Sounds nice. Nicer then mine at least... I grew up here. Ever since I can remember I have lived here, although not in this home. I used to live with a small group of male thieves. They taught me what I know of thievery and they are who I give credit to." He grinned before he realized he had just summed up his past for this girl off the streets. He hardly even knew her and yet, she was like him in so many ways.

he blushed a light shade of crimson as he realized his folly. All these years of learning to keep his mouth shut and he blows it with one girl whom he might like... maybe...

'Dumb keto... Dumb...'

Elindomiel - January 19, 2004 09:19 PM (GMT)
Kia noticed that Keto was getting uncomfertable, so she didnt ask any more probing questions. That is, she didnt ask any more questions she would consider probing.

"So youre on youre own now, eh?" she asked, hoping to let Keto know he could embellish his answer as much or as little as he wanted.

Kyra Goldeye - January 25, 2004 03:00 PM (GMT)
"Yup, Just me and Wethil." He nodded to the bird sitting on the perch. "We hav' 'few really fun game' to play wit' our lil' noble friend'. Thier favori' was stea'l th' money pouch." He grinned wickidly before it was replaced by solomness.

"I mus' leave though... Th' othe' thieves of thi' par' have grown unhappy wit' me. They is runnin' me ou' tomarrow. They say I am too obviou'." He snorted, half laughing at his fellow thieves. He screwed up his face, trying to stop laughing. He looked back up with a expression of calm.

"Ye can hav' me hut though. You ken take me place." He smiled up at her, eyes dancing as he watched her through his eye lashed, not looking her directly in the eyes.

Elindomiel - February 3, 2004 02:32 AM (GMT)
"Where are you going?" Said Kia, curious. She needed to know before she replied about taking his hut or anything. In actuallity she couldnt stay here anyway for more than a monthe... surely he knew that, as a journeyman, she wouldnt stay in Edoras forever? And maybe, if they were heading to the same place... no, that wouldnt work, she couldnt just invite herself. And she would probably drag him down. She was actually a good theif, but she knew his type, they would never trust her to be, underestimating her without giving her a chance.

Not that this was altogether stupid... an attempt at theiving by a bad theif might end you up in the scavengers daughter... or worse. So they couldnt really travel together. Still, it would be kind of odd to travel almost next to each other but not together... and she didnt know what to say about the offer of the hut. If you compared a journeymans travels to the vacation of a noble, this was approximetly equivelent to a noble journeying through say, ithilien, only to have a begger come up to them and offer the gift of whatever hut they may have... "Her, ye cin hev me'c'brd box"....

Of course, there were several differences, all, come to think of it, for the better. For one, Kia wasnt a noble, but an equal, and Keto wasnt exactly a begger but probably a rather good theif. And then, the hut, crude as it might be, was not exacyly a card board box.........

Kyra Goldeye - February 3, 2004 02:50 AM (GMT)
"Dunno, 'xatly. Thinkin bout goin north. See th' mou'tain'." He gave an awkward shrug. "Heard lotsa 'biut th' elves." He grinned, antisipating his journy. He would have fun, maybe thieve off a couple of caravans and lone travelers on the way. Of course he would have to be able to hunt...

She seemed rather hesitant to respond and he didn't seem like the type that resided in Edoras. He was rather uncomftorable and he sighed.

"Oh yea.... your a jour'ym'n ain' ya? You probly trying to trai' also." He winked, "Wanna trave' wit me?" He flirted. Of course he couldn' help it, it had been weeks since he had seen a normal girl, more then a monthe since he'd had a whore. He might as well make the best of it.

(OOC(Had some fun with this))

Elindomiel - February 7, 2004 04:05 AM (GMT)
Kia was rather shocked at the unexpected offer. Then again, it was also a practical one. There was safety in numbers, even in very small ones.

"If you wouldnt mind having me with you" she began, "youre right, I am travelling as well."

(Terrible sucky midget post)

Kyra Goldeye - February 8, 2004 02:12 AM (GMT)
Keto shooke his head, "Naw... I don' min'. It'll be fun." He grinned, he was begining to like this girl.

"Ya hav' eny place ya gotta go to?" He questioned, happy to comply with any request she was likly to make.

(OOC( Don't worry, mine is too.)
