Title: Why do you think Rivendell looks so clean?
Description: Of finding elves, and shards of Narsil..

Anguirel - August 20, 2003 11:42 PM (GMT)
Tathren was cleaning under the Lord Erestor's bed today. It wasn't pleasant, as Lord Erestor's floor was absolutely disgusting, she had been neglecting his room as of late and she just remembered...after Lord Elrond told her. So there she was, cleaning under Lord Erestor's bed. So far she found some tattered scripts(dwarf runes by the look of them), a few fragments of lembas that were turning green on the corners, and....was that a shard of Narsil? For Lord Erestor's sake she decided not to tell Lord Aragorn about her recent find. But it was a good thing Lord Erestor was a semi clean person, the task wasn't all difficult. Tathren soon found herself back outside, making her way toward the gardens.

Imladris was silent. Where is everybody? She smiled with relief as another came into view.

Arwen was pacing the other way at that very same moment. Her eyes fell upon Tathren, and she smiled at the girl.
"Vedui, Tathren!" she called happily, "Would you care to join me?" she said, motioning to the long path around which she was walking. Her silver-grey eyes fell upon Tathren's robes. They were covered in dust and odd crumbs of old Lembas.
"Have you been cleaning the floor?" Arwen asked softly, her face contorted into a small frown, "Surely that is not a job fit for a young maiden such as yourself..."

Anguirel - August 23, 2003 04:37 PM (GMT)
"I have been, actually."

Tathren walked briskly to the Lady Arwen. "But I must do something. I feel useless if I am not cleaning this fair place." Tathren smiled and looked to her feet. "Besides, I enjoy it." She looked up and smiled mischeiviously(sp?), "There are a lot of interesting finds." It wasn't until after she said those words she realised: This was Arwen, Lady of Imladris. "Forgive me." she mumbled turning back to her shoes.

Lostsule - August 24, 2003 02:44 PM (GMT)
Arwen laughed. She was all too used to other Elves acting this way in her presence, and it discomforted her slightly.
"There is nothing to forgive. Be not shy in my presence, Tathren. All I ask is for a companion to wander the paths of Imladris with, and talk of fairer times. Here all thought of position and rank is forgotten."

Arwen placed one hand on the girl's shoulder, and took another step down the path. "Come now, let us walk" she said gently.

Anguirel - August 24, 2003 06:54 PM (GMT)
Tathren smiled. She felt more comfortable now. "Very well Lady," Tathren shook her head and chuckled. "I mean Arwen. Where shall we walk?"

Tathren's eyes wandered around the pathways. She had a question she wished to ask Arwen. Tathren still felt out of place though.

"Arwen...uh" Tathren pondered the correct words. She didn't want to sound rude, nor did she want to sound like she was pestering.

Lostsule - August 24, 2003 07:41 PM (GMT)
Arwen's gaze flickered to Tathren's face. "We may walk wherever you wish..." she smiled. She knew that the young maid had something on her mind.

"You have a question," she answered merrily, "Then ask it!"

Anguirel - August 25, 2003 02:04 AM (GMT)
Tathren bit her lip.

"Alright," she blinked her eyes and turned to Arwen. "Is Lord Elrohir married? I know it must sound funny, because he's your brother. But...but" Tathren trailed off and felt her cheeks burning.

Lostsule - August 25, 2003 05:41 PM (GMT)
Arwen could not hide her mild surprise. But her smile did not falter. "Elrohir? Why no... although he has had his eye on a maiden or two around this fair valley..."
A mischevious grin now rose upon Arwen's face. She knew very well that Tathren had had her eye on him. she also knew that Elrohir had spoken to her of Tathren many times previously.
"I know that he would not object to the advances of a maid so bright and bold... as yourself..."

Anguirel - August 25, 2003 11:02 PM (GMT)
Tathren smiled at the the words 'bright and bold'. "Elrohir did take me riding once..." she blushed once again.
"But I'm sure you don't want to discuss my infatuations," Tathren jested. "What about you, Arwen? Does Lord Glorfindel suit your fancies? I'm sorry if I seem too bold." Tathren looked at the Lady Arwen and smiled.

Lostsule - August 26, 2003 06:11 PM (GMT)
Now it was Arwen's turn to be embarassed. Her cheeks turned a pale shade of pink as she turned her head to watch the progress of the slowly rising sun. "The Lord Glorfindel is indeed a fine figure of an Elf..." she said, "But my heart lies in the South... where my love wanders in woodlands unknown..." with every word, Arwen's voice became quieter, until it was no more than a whisper. "Estel..." she sighed. Even just the sound of his name brought a flutter to her heart. She turned her smiling gaze back to Tathren. "My fate has been wrought in stone for some time."

Anguirel - August 27, 2003 01:35 PM (GMT)
"Estel?" she played with the word on her tongue for a few moments. "Hope?" Her eyes grew large, "Lord Aragorn?" Tathren looked curiously upon the Lady Arwen.

Arwen wrenched her gaze away from Tathren once more, her cheeks flushing right red. With a small nod, to let her know that she had acknowledged her comment. "Yes... 'tis the Lord Aragorn. We met long ago, in the forests that surround Lorien..."

Preferring to say no more, for fear that she would catch fire, Arwen turned the discussion back towards Tathren and Elrohir.
"I will remember to tell him, next time he comes by Rivendell that he has caught your attention, Tathren" she said, the old mischevious grin returning to her features.

Anguirel - August 27, 2003 11:00 PM (GMT)
It was Tathren's turn to blush. She blinked a couple od times and shook her head. "You can tell him someone admires him, but do not say it is me....." she said as she pretended that there was nothing more important at the moment than her shoes.

[EDIT]OOC: Yes, they did meet in Lothlorien, but is this the place to put that? Shouldn't you pm her, or something?[/EDIT]

Lostsule - September 7, 2003 06:44 PM (GMT)
Arwen looked at the young girl. She understood her shyness. "Do not worry Tathren," she said in a soothing tone, "The Lord Elrohir will know of his admirer, but he will not know whom she may be..." Arwen placed a comforting hand upon Tathren's shoulder. She would keep to her promise. The next time her brethren returned, she would tell Elrohir... but never would she betray Tathren's secret.

Anguirel - September 8, 2003 01:55 AM (GMT)
"You are kind lady," she said. "How long have you been devoted to Lord Aragorn? We are friends now, right? You do not need to answer if you feel I am pestering." Tathren's cheeks turned the color of her hair and she bowed her head, telling herself silently to keep quiet.

Lostsule - September 27, 2003 01:46 PM (GMT)
Arwen laughed and shook her head to Tathren.

"Of course we are friends, and I would not say that you are pestering at all!"

Arwen placed a comforting hand upon Tathren's shoulder."The Lord Aragorn and I met many years ago... I loved him from the moment that I set eyes upon him..."

Arwen smiled to herself. how long ago it seemed to her... all the longer considering his constant absence...

Tathren Nardol - September 30, 2003 03:41 AM (GMT)
Tathren smiled. "Love at first sight then." she giggled and looked to Arwen. "I have never felt that. It must be wonderful."

Tathren frowned for a second, but quickly smiled.
