Hi all

My melos has now been garaged for 3 years and I have decided to give it a make over , can anyone advise the best engines to fit . I bought the car for a few hundred pounds so I am not sure of what can and cant be fitted so any ideas would help

Cheers

Depends on your definition of best... Personally i would go for a nice modern 2.0 zetec with a 3d map on the ignition sucking through a set of injected throttle bodies, but back onto somthing with a more realistic budget.
Minimal work will be to install the same lump as you have currently but biggest cc varient you can find.
In terms of what will go in any Xflow and pinto. Essex and cologne v6 rover v8 (just) zetec then there is k series vauxhall lumps fiat twin cams alfa flat fours the list goes on limited only by your ability and the deph of your pockets!!! For cheap minimal effort the good old x flow or pinto on a 5 speed box takes a lot of beating.
xflow for light revvy fun pinto for heavy torque.
