A friend and I are redoing this Dutton. We work on the frame and we don't know what is this for ? Do we have to keep it or not ?

I was always under the impression that it was for a spare wheel - Not much good if your running 17" rims though :D

Hi before you chop it off you might find your chassis number stamped into it!
I spent ages looking on my S1 chassis for it and found it stamped there in the end.

That is the place for the chassis no. apparently. and the spare wheel. (mine is missing)

yes spare wheel and i could never find the number on it altho the last own says it is there some where in the rust under the spare wheel hehe
