Does anyone know what thread should be on the nuts welded onto the chassis for the seatbelt anchorages? My S4 chassis seems to have something different to the thread that you get on new eyelets (which are 7/16", I think).
I thought all seatbelt anchorages used the same (i.e. an industry standard).
Cheers,
Ed.
They should be 7/16 UNF
As you say - an industry standard
However you have a kit car and the builder may have had different ideas - More often than not they just ram in cross threaded the nearest bolt size to hand - and you suffer the consequences.

Yeah, who knows! ;)
I'm going to borrow a 7/16" tap to see if they are just full of ****, as they weren't used by the previous build. The guy had put seperate eyelets and nuts through some additional brackets (behind the seats).
I think the nuts look like original parts on the chassis, and I recall Dutton paying a lot to get the seatbelt anchorages approved, so maybe they just need a good clean out (hopefully!)
Cheers,
Ed.
