my phaetons hand brake is of a ford escort MKII i think ???
the cable seems to have alot os slack on it can u adjust it ? at the minute it doesnt lock the wheels so failed the mot ....
any ideas ?

i was able to get the slack of the cable and it seemsalot better ;)

If you dont know the obvious things to check then I cant help you.

However.

Its rare that an S1 will have an Escort handbrake
Back axle could be anything - find out what the axle is from and get a Haynes manual for that donor and follow the advice therein.

well .. i had a look and it does seem to be a escort MK II ( but then im going on pictures of it from web)
the cable was slack so i got rid of that and seems alot better i guess it was pulling slack up before it pulled brakes :huh:
it goes back in tomorrow yay

now when i get back form scotland all i have to do is get it regestered in the UK ....

i seem to have all the paper work i need ( well thats what they told me over the phone we will see )
