i have 13" wheels and want to lower my phaeton but as everyone has a problem with ground clearance could i put bigger wheels on to make the car higher then lower the car ?
as in 17" wheels and not rubber bands as tyres would bring the car up then lower it down to get the wheel to wing gap down ??
i have looke thro the forum and didnt see anyone ask this yet ( but then i could be sooooo wrong :D )
I am sure if you take a longer look through the posts we have been here quite a few times in the past.
But to precis it
1. 17" rims look stupid on a Dutton 13's look best.
2. Fit adjustable suspension and reduce chassis height to 6" minimum
3. Fit a B+ bonnet and use cycle guards on the front and then to do some arch blending at the back to bring the arch closer to reduce the gap.
Fitting bigger diameter wheels
There will not been enough room in the rear aches for any suspension travel and the tyres will rub through.
Lowering the car to less than 6" chassis height - the rear axle will hit the rear chassis rail on bump and the diff nose will hit the body work.
At the front the suspension geometry will be out so far that the car will understeer very badly as the roll centre at the front will be below ground and the rear will be at about 17".

ok
but still can u not blend the front wings down also as i dont want to look like a B+
al i want is to lower it down a little could it just be i have a light engine so the suspension sits high ?
xflow engine is fitted
now i need to go see how long the coil overs are i guess .. hehe
