Title: HELP (Lots ).
Description: wiring/5link/body repairs

OK - hope you've seen my new beast in the gallery, I'm restoring a S4, would appreciate some advice from all those who went before me!!

REWIRING
Help needed - rewiring? - Sorely tempted to do this from scratch, or get a new loom or something - Can't make head nor tail of what's in there.

BODY REPAIRS
I really don't want to paint it yet, Or at all, but I have to repair some cracks and dings. How do I match the original gel-coat colour with some new gel-coat? Was there any standard colours (See gallery) - and does anyone supply a standard gel-coat tint for me to use?

5-LINK KIT
I may be dreaming this, but I'm sure I've seen a 5-link kit for a dutton somewhere. With all the steelwork already cut out. Anyone seen any? - Taking the body off at least so might as well 5-link it.

BODY OFF
What's involved in removing the body? - Guess I can figure this one out for myself....

REWIRING

Premier

BODY REPAIRS

Gel coat is not the easiest thing to match up as most of the gel will be factory mixed and more than likley no two will be identical so best to local repair and paint.

5 LINK KIT

No such thing exists for Duttons and all need to be made bespoke - some people use the Escort kit from Rally Design - I built my own.

BODY OFF

All quite obvious but - the things that catch people out are the steering column, clutch cable, handbrake cable, fuel line, heater pipes if fitted, Electrical cables, gearstick, seat mounts seat belt mounts.

From memory there are 12 chassis mount bolts on an S4 - Build Manual is available as a download from the DOC site members section.

Cheers

Andrew
