Title: My Phaeton S2 (i think) Project

SASKY - July 9, 2007 06:36 PM (GMT)
hi, im new on here. i have just bought a dutton phaeton, im pretty sure its an S2. bought it off ebay couple of weeks ago, is in need of alot of work. any help with the car is greatly appreciated. it helps that i know ford, previously having tinkered with capri's, and my mate knowing triumph spitfires but im positive that you lot will know alot more than us 2 put together. engine wise i have a dolomite sprint engine and gearbox coming at weekend so should be pokey enough for my needs.

Welcome to the world of Duttons. :D

It certainly looks like an S2. It looks like you have a fair bit of work to do on that.

Good luck and ask questions as and when they arise. Someone on here is bound to know the answer

Likewise..

Welcome to the Forums and it looks like you have a fairly comprehensive rebuild ahead.

I am sure you will find the answers to most questions here and the ability to post photo's is a big bonus with kits such as ours as years or different ownerships end up with the cars significantly changed from when they they were dropped of the back of a low loader onto some unsuspecting souls driveway with an A4 sheet of "comprehensive" instructions.

Cheers

well i have made some progress on the phaeton, went to triumph show last sunday, came away with

prop
front poly bushes
speedo
caliper
steering knuckle

all for under 30 quid, not bad.

also bought, this time off ebay

dolomite sprint 1850 engine (2 litre 16v)
gearbox with overdrive in 3rd and 4th
twin 40s jetted for dolly sprint
very thin cream buckets out of a westfield.

will post pics this weekend once i got engine fitted and some painting done
