Title: My Dutton B+

bplus-xxxl - April 15, 2007 12:02 AM (GMT)
Hi all,

Just a few pictures of my Dutton, been delayed as the weather has been good so been spending time getting used to it.

What I know so far is it has a 1700cc Vulcan tuned and rebuilt engine 3.5K ago, twin 40's, Fast road cam, Aldon dizzy, breather tank, etc, etc, all rolling road set up, 5spd type 9 box, coilover suspension, front hub conversion for ford pattern wheels.

Not sure about the rear end(!!)

Basic interior, but has everything needed,

Will be looking at, removing racing numbers, sorting out the dash a bit, possibly new alloys, new side mirrors.

Keep you all posted

Cheers

That looks really smart. :D
I,m not normally a fan of cycle wings but on yours it really suits it. I think it must be the back end that sets it off.

How come the choke knob is furthest from the driver?

Hi,

I'm starting to like how the car looks, at first not sure about the back end, but as I said it's growing on me.

The dash is one area I want to sort out, when you are belted in you can just reach the choke (why it's there I don't know) and the battery kill switch. Starting it is like a nuclear launch, switch up, switch down, turn key, etc, etc, etc.

Love it though

I really like the rear end; I intend making mine very similar, but even more like a Mallock Clubmans car i.e. sloping away from the ****pit (if you consider a Caterham to be sloping toward the ****pit).

I have a Capri rear axle to replace the Escort one, and the extra 2" of rear width should help fill the rear arches.

Still got a long way to go with my rebuild of a Mk2, but it's intended as a roadging Hillclimb Special.

Cheers Chris.

OMG..... I never thought I'd see it again!! :o

I had this 2 years ago, but had to sell after not very long. Loved it and it got me hooked. Can't wait to get another (very soon I'm hoping!!)

I can't answer the "why is the choke there" question, but after a sit and warm-up for a couple of minutes, it didn't need it.

Hope it still sounds as good, and "pops" down through the revs, nr 3k!!

Look after her!!

Ben

(wish one of your comments was, "want to sell it!!!")

Enjoy!!

Hi,

The guy I bought it off is my mate, Rob, he would have (I think) bought it off you.

Could not resist as the engine was sweet and as you say 'pops' nicely, and I really took to it. Total ear to ear smile everytime

Just want to do a few jobs to it for myself, sorry not for sale :(
