Title: Land Rover 101 FC engine

mut - April 2, 2007 09:43 PM (GMT)
Hi all,

Does anybody know what difference there is between a 3.5 v8 from a SD1 to the ones fitted to the 101 forward control?

I would imagine they were designed for torque not bhp but I have no idea what changes were made.

Many thanks,

Mick.

I always thought they were the same engine. The differences being in the carb setup and in the gearbox ratios. Although i have no idea what the differences would actually be in those items.

Not sure but think compression ratio and cam was different as well, dont forget military engines are made to run on bad(octane rating) fuel, try the Dunsfold heritage site they might have some details
