Better luck this time, Cannot see why it did'nt sell last time :(
Andy S - February 20, 2007 10:29 AM (GMT)
I was surprised it did not sell as well - However I always think that the best way to sell on e-bay is with a low start bid say £450 and then the reserve you would be happy to let the car go with. Its just human nature - its a bit odd that at an auction everyone knows what the item is worth and what it will eventually fetch but it has to start at some ridiculously low sum to get things going. How many times have you seen an auctioneer say " OK who will start me?... OK £10 - £10 bid ,£20, £30, £50, £100....." its just the way it is.
Having typed this Turbo Robs car will have aleady been sold with buy it now...
Also your ad has too many negatives and not enough positives - makes me wonder if you do really want to sell it. Have a look at how much of the ad is taken up with negatives about the car and what you wont put up with from buyers its 70% of the description. And that centred type that you have to scroll down just makes it a pain.
Ann Marie here
The add should be easy to read and 85% positive about why someone should buy the car - 10% with any work that needs doing and 5% legal.
Its Mot'd and Taxed - Tell them its cheap to insure, economical and reliable and that with the hood and heater its a practical proposition in all weathers and with glassfibre bodywork that will not rust.
There's a business opportunity for someone - writing ads for car sellers on e-bay - 2% premium.
Cheers
Andrew

I must admit that I have a new toy :D Just don't tell passport control!! The car may not have cost to much but the kitchen that she wants done in April now is gonna cost alot more!! Must have been Andy sales speak that made me do it.
jonno - February 20, 2007 07:05 PM (GMT)
When i see one like that i feel like i paid a bit much for mine :( . Never mind i love building them as much as driving them :D
Theres some pics about when it was white on the DOC when another Rob owned it :)
bobterry - February 20, 2007 07:41 PM (GMT)
Yep clocked the picks on the DOC before ;) , looks like its had some work done on it since. Hope it holds up to the 150 mile trip home from Bournemouth to kent. Then just got to find a place to put it. Should really think these things through a bit more

There would have been a bit more on Rob Hills own pages but it would appear thay they have gone for good which is probably why the link has gone from our main page.
I certainly looks like a decent buy - For a long journey in an unknown car I leave plenty of time, keep the speeds low, and make loads of cooling down stops, keeping an eye on as much as possible. Check all the fluids - any you cant check ask the owner for advice.
Cheers

Jonno, any chance that I could get any of the info on the car? It would be nice to have some history to go with it ;) .

His Username is Rob on here, he used to run the National Kit Car Club and owned a B+ with a huge V8 in (had a pinto in for a while as well).
I dont think he had the Legerra for very long. I'll pm you his email, thats all i have really.
Shame about the NKCC really, i still wonder what happened to Steve's wide XR4x4 melo.
Melosman - February 23, 2007 12:56 AM (GMT)
Wide XR4X4 Melos is almost Finished, Needs a couple of months work of which I
intend to do when weather gets a bit warmer, Have become couch potato of late  On the question of the Legerra, Rob bought it from a Guy called John who he works with, As far as I know It had not run for about 5 years up to that point. It Had a lot of electrical problems most of which were put right ;)
Kindest Regards
Steve

Nice to hear from you again jonno, Your right it has been a while :) In answer to your question I do have some photos, some of the finished chassis, and a couple of the body which still needs painting. I am afraid that I dont have the slightest idea how to post them on this forum, I could mail them to you if that helps ?
Kindest Regards
Steve
