Title: Phaeton S3 for sale

MOT and tax just expired and I don't have time to get it through the MOT.

2.1L Pinto, 4 speed box, measured 0-60 just under 7 seconds in second gear (I couldn't get enough grip to use first).

Known problems:
Bad starting - the starter motor is taking too much current from the battery, so there is not enough to produce a good spark. Attached a second battery to the coil and it starts first time. New starter or better battery should solve this.
2 inch rip in hood, tried gluing it but the glue didn't hold.
One of the roof support mounting points came off, now held in place by 2 Jubilee Clips.
Drivers sear runner is jammed all the way back (works well for me at 6'3").
Dash needs re-doing, just because its ugly.
Main reason for not getting an MOT is the clutch is jammed, so I can't drive it and don't have time to take the engine/gearbox out.

There is a £450+ NO2 wet kit half fitted, but never used (I'll possibly remove this). I also have an oil cooler and sundries ready to fit, but not fitted. I also have a spoiler not fitted, I couldn't think of anywhere suitable to mount it. There is an electric demister and a set of 3 home made green LED bars fitted. Good tyres, nice alloys, sound great. Breathable cover which is a good fit is also available.

As I said before, I am 6'3" and big built, I had no problem driving this car. So if you are tall, maybe this is the one for you.

Sensible offers from persons who have viewed the car. I'm in Flookburgh, Grange-over-Sands, Cumbria, LA11 7LQ.

But how much are you looking for ;)

I'd like £1000 (with out the NO2, spoiler and oil cooler), but as it is, I don't think I'll get it. My wife came into some money and is buying a Boxster S for both of us and a Honda Blackbird for me, so if we find a Boxster soon, then it will have to go for whatever on eBay (need the parking space).

Actual everything in the garage must go even my bikes (GSX1100F, GS550M Katana (x2), MZ ETZ125) and all my old parts which will come in useful one day ;)

Even my Calibra must go :(

Need to sell ASAP!

Took a test drive in a TVR Chimaera yesterday and would like to buy it, so need the space.

I think the bad starting is down to no cold start on the coil. So I'll go and try that now, also see if I can free the clutch off.

I sold my TVR Chimaera, to by a Dutton :o well and to finish the extension  but they are excellent cars, the only problem I found with the TVR was the steering got very light at 140 mph

The Dutton would have very light steering at 140mph, because I'd have to drive it off a cliff :)
