Title: New Malaga B+ owner

s2europa - August 16, 2004 11:53 PM (GMT)
Hi,

I just brought home a 1976 Malaga B+ from Canada to the US. PO pics here: http://www.winisp.net/danmo/Dutton/dutton.htm

I'll be starting the slow restoration of this car. One of the problem areas that I see is the interior. Does anyone have pics of a proper interior that I might be able to follow to restore mine? I'm especially interested in the sill areas where your arm rests. This currently is under some sort of modification by the PO, but I'd like to remain as close to original as possible.

Car is currnetly sitting on Revolution wheels (5.5(?)x13) and cracked and worn 205/60-13 tires. What was the standard tire size for this car?

Thanks,
Dan

:D

A proper interior  They are all different to some degree as its open to the builder to finish to suit - I will see if I can dig out a picture of mine that looks very nice but is of little use as it positions you too high. Basically too much padding has been put into the seat pads.

I have an old HOT CAR mag report on a Malaga and the interior is made from vinyl pads inthe old perforated/ribbed material - popular in the Seventies. seems to be separate seats pads and a pad for the top of the transmission tunnel. Seats held in place by pop studs on the to the rear of the tub.

As for the sill finish - yours look exactly the same as mine - which appear to be glass fibre channels that have been painted in body colour.

Tyres - on 5.5 J I would go for a set of 185/70's - 205's are a bit OTT - having said that my V8 S1 had 205's all round on 7" rims and my B runs 225/60/14's back and 205/60/14's front which is completely OTT and proably fearful in the wet.
