Title: Carbs and master cylinders.

Well, that expensive engine seems to fit nicely in the car but there's no way on earth that the twin dellortos (on which I have spent considerable amounts of money :( ) are going to fit in. Not even with a remote master cyl for the brakes.
We've decided to try and go for a single 45 setup which will leave room to fit a dual circuit master cyl for the brakes. If anyone out there has a single 45 on a xflow manifold or a dual circuit master cylinder then I'd be pleased to hear from them.
Cheers

;) Cant say we didnt warn you.
There are other options.
1 - Move the engine forward and inch or so - bit of work but there will be no detrimental effect on the handling
2 - Install a low level pedal assy or do the escort rally trick and reverse the cylinder so its inside the car but above.
After spending all that money you have to go the extra mile and dress it properly with a pair of twin chokes

Pete reckons if I'd have gone for a 5-speed box then the extra length would have given us the room we needed and none of the hassle of trying to find a MKII lotus cortina clutch slave cylinder. Ah, the joys of hindsight.
I'll have a chat with Pete about whether we can re-jig the pedals although he's already done some work on them and I'm suffering severe withdrawal syptoms considering this will be my last summer of freedom before the patter of tiny feet...

Feeling better today. Stuart Taylor Motrsport do a floor-mounted pedal box complete with brake master cylinders for less than Halfords wanted for a dual circuit master cylinder. This should mean that the cylinders will be low enough to clear the carbs and Pete should be happy as I'll have a dual circuit braking system.
With a bit of luck and a following wind I may even make Llandow on 2nd July.

Just a note :
I'd check with the other locost suppliers first to see what thier prices are i.e MK, Luego , GTS etc :D

Went to see the b-plus yesterday.
Looks like the floor mounted pedal box will fit. All I need to do is chop the driver's footwell about a bit. Oh, and lose the starter motor and a chunk of bellhousing :( Anyone got a crank handle for a xflow? :)
Not enough room under the dash to turn the m/cyls round, either :o
So it looks like I'm still after a single weber/dellorto 45 and a manifold to connect it to my xflow. Oh well.
