Well... I finally got balls enough to just come out and say it.

I'm done.

The sad but honest truth is that Dark Isles is pretty much dead. Even many of the admins have vanished and apparantly do not wish to return. I reference Baerholn, who doesn't say he isn't coming back, but instead just vanishes and when asked about the site refuses to respond to IMs. Dark Isles had a good run. Though more often than not it was empty and inactive. Despite its failure I'm happy I tried. In the past year and a half I've learned a lot about what works and what doesn't, and had a lot of fun trying to pull everything together in to a coherent, interesting forum RP. Sadly it never became popular enough to come to life. Partially because of a lacking membership and participation, and partially because of my unwillingness to buckle myself down and work my ass off for more than a day or two.

Well, whatever the reason, the truth still stands. Dark Isles has died.

I'll still support anyone who wants to quest here (grade their quests and what-not), and will answer people's questions if they ask any. Heck, I'll even check registrations and all that jargon, too. However all special events (including the Challenge) and updates to things such as equipment (which is still lacking some gear for certain classes, sorry. I tried to get Baerholn to give me what was missing... :( ) and other classes, such as the Advanced Class Tree that I was working on in secret, are suspended. So no more of those. It's just too much time and work for me to devote to a dead project. I tried to keep things going, though sometimes not all too hard. Sorry if any you were looking forward to the defense of Helineth Port City...

In light of all this I've decided to try something else... I currently am working on a new board based on something that may end up being more popular. Once it's done I will talk about it here in detail for the few of you who still read this board.

I am upgrading Elither (Xai, Malignant) to Administrator status and giving him free-reign to the special events and rules. Though I still own the original rules, the world, classes, history, etc. that I had created. Elither is free to create new events, equipment or whatever, to try and keep this site going if he really wants to. Whether he does or not is his business.

It's been fun.

Hate to see it go...I had a story planned out for my character and everything. But, times change. Maybe I can just write a story about my adventures here.

Well.. I'm slightly dissappointed in the turn of events that has happened here, myself. If certain administrators and other participants had stayed a bit longer, than everything might have been different for this forum. I, myself, have enjoyed everything that has happened here besides the very noticeable in-activity. I'll try to keep things running, and of course i'll probably ask Derhlith for help here and there. And I do appreciate that he's going to stay. Even though I know this will probably not work out, i'll keep trying. So to whomever else that's staying, I really appreciate it and send my thanks to you. This is all I have to say for now.

...But what do I do about Krys? I can't just let her character dissapear.. T_T

Easy Lighteria, don't let her dissappear. That's a major faction as to why this forum has done very badly, as I have ranted on about over and over before. When people do join this forum, they want to see activity, not dead weight. So try to keep active if you're still interested. I'm still running some thoughts through my head as to how to save this.

may not be much...but I have thoughts if you'd like to hear them.

WOW...It has been awhile...I will stay here to the best as I can...The only thing is that I am still without internet, but I have been writing quests on my laptop...I will still look around to see else where if anyone is interested in coming here...I know it may not be enough but it still will be worth it...

This site... in all its complexity and depth... Is well worth keeping alive.


Krys isn't going away. We're gonna need some dedication.

Gotta return my challenge gear....ah man...I wanted the chance to tank out with it. Oh well. Once i find my quest file, I'll be questing again.

I agree with her, and I know I've been off and on a lot. But school is coming to a close soon and that'll open up a lot more time for me to come up with quests. Expect me to keep posting. ^_^
