As strong as Tharkas was, it was no match for the ever-growing power of the darkness that swallowed up Unluthio. Slowly they began to lose ground. The day Archer feared had arrived. Giant boats called Valkyries, came sailing down the Easulan, there were reports of these ships all along the river. While the Knights stood in awe, the Goblins and Orcs propelled themselves off the ships en masse and began attacking the small camps. Battles raged up and down the Easulan River for several hours at a crack. The only location that wasn't being attacked was the Checkpoint. However, they could not abandon their post to aid their comrades-in-arms for fear of losing the checkpoint. By the end of it all, the White Cloud Army had suffered a staggering 24% casualties. This forced them to thin our their defensive lines in order to cover the same amount of territory. When word got to Tharkas Castle of the fighting along the River, the King fell into a trance of despair. Never before had his armies taken such a mighty blow. And never before had they been in such a dire need for help, when none was to be given.
The very next day a messenger came back from the North, he arrived at Helineth port city and was given the fastest horse in the area to get to Tharkas Castle. He arrived with wonderful news! Fornilingoth was sending their elite regiment of Rangers: The Rangers of the Shadow. If the White Cloud could hold out for five days, they'd have 3,000 fresh Rangers to use as they see fit for the duration of the war, and reserves would be on standby for further aid. The one catch to the deal was surviving for another five days. That day, and the day thereafter went by quietly, morale among the White Cloud was slowly drooping, like a tarp weighted down by water. The third of the five days brought more good news, Lancers and Archers were on their way up from the South and West. Lienthala, regardless of their disputes with Tharkas, was giving immediate assistance, and 4,000 Elves were on the way from Region-Au-Ruteer, and another thousand were heading up from Lientha Forest. From the south 2,000 Lancers were boarding merchant vessels headed for Region-Au-Ruteer, the closest port city besides the Forbidden Port.
Finally the aid they sought was coming, and hopefully things would change. All they had to do was hold out for another day or two. Archer was looking much more confident. Then came the fourth day, a decisive battle fell upon the Knights, and whether or not they could fight through to the end or not, none at that point could tell.
Four Valkyries crossed the Easulan between the Checkpoint and the Iron Crag, half filled with Orcs. Each boat unloaded its contents with great haste, and the Orcs quickly meshed into the Knight's defensive, fighting ensued. The battle raged, and no other post could leave to assist for fear of one of the other Valkyries moving in and swarming their open location. The Knights who were being attacked were slowly pushed back, and the groups on their flanks took it upon themselves to encircle the Orcs, finally sick of just watching. There was now a large gap along the river-defense line. The Knights slaughtered the Orcs from all sides, and tried to retake their positions. As this happened, another two Valkyries sailed over, and overhead angelic-demons circled overhead. Giant humanoid creatures in armor of gold, silver, and black, with wings of raven black, and eyes like topaz. They screeched, an inhuman cry - peircing heart and mind. While the Knights were doubled over trying to block out the shrieks, the Demons swooped down, there must have been ten of them. Each took up two Knights, one in each hand. Then they dropped them over the Easulan, allowing for the Knights to drown. From massive scabbards came gargantuan blades of Obsidian-like black rock, garnished with silver tips, and a silvertipped crossguard. Again the Demons swooped down and began attacking the Knights. Their blades ripped through sword, shield, and armor alike, laying waste to the defenseless Knights.
At the same time, Orcs offed themselves and came down upon the shores of the Easulan. The Knight's line was about to break on it's Northern edge, separating the Iron Crag from the rest of Tharkas.
