Title: (1)harufu Vs. (5)kahlan
Description: Don't Start Until 5PDT, 8EDT!
Derhlith - October 10, 2003 05:19 AM (GMT)
.... (((OOC: Next time... Wait until the setting is placed. You may use your environment to your advantage, but that is not the case this time since you didn't wait until the announcements were up. So - generic arena, round battle area, dirt floor, stone walls. Have fun... and WAIT before round 2 so I can put the stuff up... -_- )))
Harufu-Erubishi - October 11, 2003 01:16 AM (GMT)
Walking around looking towards everyone that was to take part in the tournament, Harufu
continues to walk along with Nienna by his side hoping to see someone he once knew.
Nothing to much luck. Keeping his eye and attention to the announcements that were
being yelled to everyone letting them know what was soon to come something brought
his attention fully to the announcer.
“The final first round fight will be between...Contestant number 7: Harufu Erubishi and
contestant number 5: Kahlan”
Looking towards Nienna, he knew that his time had come to take part in this contest of
willpower and strength. Holding her one more time, but hopefully not the last, Harufu
began to depart from her and makes his way to the arena to begin his fight. As he looked
towards his love he could see her waving good luck and knew that her love would help
him through anything that may happen. As the last sounds of her voice fade into the
crowd, Haru knows that she will be watching him as much as she can.
Entering the arena to where he would begin his first match, Haru looks for his opponent
to show up. The idea of the win for this match raced through his head but he knew not to
get ahead of himself. What ever happened was meant to be and if it meant that he was to
lose, all he could do is work harder and hopefully he would have better luck next time.
Holding his lance by his side, all Haru could do was wait and hope nothing got out of
hand. This maybe a fight to win but that doesn’t mean that a life is to be taken. Looking
around Haru noticed that Nienna found her seat and he waved to her as the sounds of
someone coming became clear.
“I guess this is the time to begin. So be it.”
Kahlan - October 11, 2003 04:09 AM (GMT)
“The finally first round fight will be between...Contestant number 7: Harufu Erubishi and contestant number 5: Kahlan” Kahlan sighed and closed her eyes for a moment, shutting out all the noise and everything else, letting her head hang down and calmness sweep into her mind. She stood up and stretched her long arms rotating her neck around. She opens her eyes and looks at the entrance, the calm expression she used so often now covering her face.
"What have I gotten myself into this time..." Kahlan mutters under her breath, and starts walking slowly to the entrance, mentally blocking out everything, people, noise, thoughts.
She notices another guy standing in the middle or the arena and figures he's her opponet "huru something or another" she thinks to herself, but shakes the thought away, and makes sure that her rapier is free of it's scabbad and walks up to the huru guy standing about 5 feet from him standing relaxed but ready for anything.
"Here we go.." she mutters to herself again, ready and waiting.
Harufu-Erubishi - October 11, 2003 04:35 AM (GMT)
Looking around the arena, hoping that his opponent would show soon, Haru continues to
search for someone he could recognize. No such luck at all. The only face that Haru
could remember was that of his loves, Nienna, in the stands. Hearing an increase in the
crowds voices, Haru figured and turned to see his opponent entering the arena.
Looking towards the opponent, Haru could see that he was going to be facing a female in
battle. All he could think to himself was what to except from the person in front of him.
“It doesn’t matter if my opponent is female, I must not underestimate anything during this
fight.” Thought Haru as he saw her draw out her weapon in preparation for the fight.
Bring his own lance to his side and ready for anything that may come, Haru still watches
the female as she stands in front of his. Looking into the woman’s eyes, Haru couldn’t
really see anything from her. All it showed his was that he would have to watch out for
any signs of what is to come.
“I guess this now means that we should begin this fight.” Looking towards her, there was
still something on his mind as he began his attack.
“I am Harufu Erubishi, but everyone just calls me Haru,” It was hard for him but he was
able to say what he needed to with a smile on his face.
Kahlan - October 11, 2003 04:45 AM (GMT)
Kahlan noticed the forced smile on his face and didn't think anything of it. "My name's Kahlan Amnell, but that doesn't matter much now does it?" She didn't smile but just looked right back at haru, nothing else in her thoughts just blankness.
Kahlan slowly draws her rapier from her scabbard and places her right foot back behind her left standing at an angle slightly crouched with her rapier in front of her body waiting. her feet aren't too far apart incase she would have to move quickly out of the way of the first attack.
"Here it goes for my first time.." she mutters to herself waiting for her opponents first move.
Harufu-Erubishi - October 11, 2003 05:01 AM (GMT)
"My name's Kahlan Amnell, but that doesn't matter much now does it?"
Haru noticed Kahlan as she began to draw out her rapier and prepares for his attack.
Holding onto his lance, he knew that this would not be an easy fight. But thankfully
because of his lance Haru would be able to attack without getting too close. Even thought
this was an advantage to him it was also his weakness.
“I must not let her get close or that will be it,” Haru muttered to himself as he began to
plan out his attack. There was nothing else he could do to prepare for an attack but keep
his thoughts focused on the match ahead of him.
The wind around Haru began to change directions back and forth as he was about to begin
his attack. Holding his lance with one hand, held behind his back for a quick draw and
hopefully swung to do something to his advantage. But only the real thing would show
results rather than what was going through his mind.
“Only thing to do is see what happens next,” with his last words to himself, Haru begins
to walk towards Kahlan waiting to make his first move.
Kahlan - October 11, 2003 05:17 AM (GMT)
“Only thing to do is see what happens next,” with his last words to himself, Haru begins to walk towards Kahlan waiting to make his first move. Kahlan stared at Haru not blinking or letting her eyes drift as he advanced. her heart started to race in anticipation and muscles tensed at the physical effort she was going to put them through soon.
She was never a holy person, never had a reason to believe, or the time, or patience but she prayed now. 'god help me through this so I might see another day happily...' she thought. not having anyone to watch her or care about, or anyone that cared about her she decided that minute she would put everything she had into this to come out victorious.
Harufu-Erubishi - October 11, 2003 05:28 AM (GMT)
It was now the time for Haru to begin his attack. Drawing his lance forward, he begins
his charge towards Kahlan. Knowing that this is going to be a challenging match, he
thinks to himself of what to expect. Nothing really comes to Haru’s mind. Watching
Kahlan’s stance, he could figure out what was to come.
“Oh well, I will just have to draw it out of her.”
Finally making up his mind, Haru begins with a swing of his lance, keeping Kahlan out of
range of her rapier. The wind around Haru and now following his movement, only shift
the dirt around them placing a small veil around the two fighters.
Kahlan - October 11, 2003 05:44 AM (GMT)
Kahlan backs up into the swirling dust away from the swing, just now notcing he had a lance and she was at a great advantage. 'Damn! the only way i'll get near him to strike is if I get hit.' She contimplated her next action but never took her eyes off her opponent. As soon as the swing missed her she made her move lunging forward and putting all her might into a blow at his side "Braveslash." her head down crouched to keep it out of the way. Her muscles tensed with the effort put into the swing.
Harufu-Erubishi - October 11, 2003 06:01 AM (GMT)
As Haru’s first attempt to attack misses his opponent, Kahlan returns the attack with a
Brave Slash to his side. Without the time to react, Haru tries to move to avoid the attack
but because of his attack he was unable to do so.
The rapier gashes Haru’s side as Kahlan moves past him with her attack. Not knowing
what to do, all Haru could think of was that he couldn’t let it happen again or else it
would mean his life. Backing away to feel the wound given to him, Haru only begins to
smile once again as he feels the warmth of his blood against the palm of his hand.
The smile continues to grow on his face as he looks towards Kahlan and were she stood.
Just with her attack, Haru was beginning to think of a way to help his out of this battle.
“Good Job”
Haru still looks towards Kahlan as he plans to attack once again. Charging as fast as he
can towards the facing Kahlan, he drags his lance against the ground as he begins his
plan. Without giving her any warning or chance to see what he is up to, Haru jumps as
high as he can to get behind Kahlan as he attempts to use his Lance Spin tactic.
This may not have been the smartest of things as Haru begins to feel the pain from the
wound to his side. But still Haru keeps his smile on his face as he begins to enjoy the
pain from his side.
“You may have got me but this isn’t the end”
Kahlan - October 11, 2003 06:10 AM (GMT)
Kahlan felt her blow hit haru in the side, and she stumbled to the ground from throwing herself off balance. The smile continues to grow on his face as he looks towards Kahlan and were she stood. Just with her attack, "Good Job" Kahlan glared up at Haru from her spot and was puzzled by the compliment. Why would someone she was dueling and whom she had just cut, say good job? Is he a nutcase or something. She watched Haru run at her and pulled her rapier up to block but he didn't attack instead but jump up.
“You may have got me but this isn’t the end” she took the opportunity he gave her by speaking before attacking to get out of reach. Rolling slowly away from Haru she kneels one knee on the ground with her rapier in her right hand facing Haru, attempting to get her breath back from the swing, and waiting for her arm muscles to stop burning.
Harufu-Erubishi - October 11, 2003 06:24 AM (GMT)
“No matter how hard you try, you will not be able to avoid my attacks forever. Sooner or
later you will make a mistake.” Haru stills smiles as he watches Kahlan dodge his
attacks. All that is going through his head is how he can land a hit on her. Taking his
chances once again and moving closer with each footstep, Haru begins to plan his next
attack.
Holding his lance between himself and were Kahlan rolled to, Haru hopes that something
will come soon. Standing in front of her, with a few feet distance between the two, Haru
prepares for Kahlan to make the first move.
“I need to think of a new way to approach this matter.” Haru thinks to himself as he
closes his eyes and feels the wind guide his next actions. Standing up straight and still
feeling his wound, Haru tries to cut off all distractions to put 100% into what is to come.
The wind continues to suround Haru as dirt is gathered with the breeze to create another
veil of sand. Peace comes to his mind as he waits for something to come from Kahlan.
Kahlan - October 12, 2003 04:46 PM (GMT)
Holding his lance between himself and were Kahlan rolled to, Haru hopes that something will come soon. Standing in front of her, with a few feet distance between the two, Haru prepares for Kahlan to make the first move.
Kahlan stared at him for a brief moment comtimplating everythng she could do, but might end up in her getting wounded... An idea popped in her head and she grinned at the thought. Standing up she charged at Haru and started swinging with one arm, too early. Instead of hitting him, or going for him, she swung at his lance to knock it away or keep it from hitting her: as she drove her remaining shoulder into Haru...praying that this had somehow helped in her not getting injured.
Harufu-Erubishi - October 12, 2003 05:16 PM (GMT)
The sounds of the wind were still telling Haru nothing about what was to come. Finally
something came to him as he heard the footsteps of Kahlan as she made her charge
towards Haru. Finally opening his eyes to see Kahlan only inches away from him, he
finally sees that she is just going to attack.
Thinking to himself, “This can not be all that she has to offer?” Haru knew something
was up when she was trying to attack him directly. Instead she was attacking his lance.
Slowly the wind behind Haru began to rush forward as he could only tighten the grip on
his lance.
Using his lance to block her attack, Haru was not ready for her attack with just her
shoulder. While trying to move him off balance with her attack, all Kahlan was able to
do was create a deadlock between her and Haru. Both their weapons were both unable to
be used as each tried to gain the advantage.
Pushing back with his shoulder against Kahlan’s, Haru knew that he was at a
disadvantage because of her starting charge. All that was going through his mind was
that he had to hold her off as long as he could. The idea finally came to Haru as he
looked towards Kahlan’s weapon. Even though she was using it to attack his own lance,
she was also turning as well to use her shoulder to continue her attack.
“That was a great attack of you to do, hope there is more to come from you.” commented
Haru as he noticed that Kahlan was still not moving from her stance. It was now his
chance to return the favor. Before Kahlan could react to anything he was planning, Haru
began to swing his own lance in the same direction as she attacked to set her off balance
with his attack. Knowing that she wouldn’t have enough time to react, Haru begins to use
his Lance Spin tactic once again. Thanks to the help and guidance of the wind, Haru’s
attack also began to speed up to insure that his attack would work.
Dust began to shift around the two as the attack was done. Holding his lance once again
on front of himself and Kahlan, all Haru could hope for was that he was finally able to
land an attack. If not he would just have to wait again until the time came up once more.
Kahlan - October 12, 2003 07:59 PM (GMT)
Kahlan thought that she would knock him off balance but instead found herself in a battle of the strength's with Haru, and she didn't think she would win anytime soon...' stop thinking like that!' she commanded to herself. 'You'll start believing what everyone else thinks will happen...'
With that thought she gritted her teeth and pushed back, but wasn't ready for his counter, he had the help of wind with him, and he element was of no use here.
He swung through and knocked her rapier away, and only by chance was she lucky to hold onto the blade, but wasn't as lucky to have time to dodge and the lance knicked the outter of her thigh and knicked it opened. she could feel the warm blood start to run down her left leg and gritted her teeth against the pain and to not cry out. Instead she moved her right leg to the side and swung with all her might at his open side opposite the lance, 'Braveslash!' she shouted in her mind putting her effort into the swing. Her muscles tensed and burned with the force put behind it.
Harufu-Erubishi - October 12, 2003 08:31 PM (GMT)
Finally an attack made by Haru was able to find its make. It didn’t do as much damage as
Haru once thought it would be at least it was a start. Looking back at Kahlan he was able
to see that he had made his mark on her left leg. The smile that was upon his face was
short lived as he began to witness that Kahlan was attempting to attack the same side as
she did in the beginning.
“Not so fast, trying to use the same move again” Haru could feel yet again the women’s
rapier slash into his side. Knowing what was coming, all Haru could do was look down
to where Kahlan had dug her rapier into his side. Seeing his only chance to disarm her
once and for all, Haru slowly placed his own lance against his body as he leg go with both
of his hands. Since Kahlan’s weapon seemed to be imbedded into Haru’s side, he knew
that she would have to make a choice. Lose her weapon or her arm.
Finally finding the right time to strike, Haru reaches for Kahlan’s arm with his own right
hand. Turning and even moving on his right side was the worst of things for Haru to do
as more and more pain rushed though his body. Even though the pain was great, Haru
continued to keep his smile upon his face hoping that he would be able to last.
Grabbing onto Kahlan’s arm it was not the moment of truth. Returning his left hand to
his lance, Haru made sure to get a strong enough grip to return an attack. Thinking to
himself, all that came to mind was knowing that people who cared for his would always
be by his side, in life and in thought.
Slightly whispering to himself, “Thank you everyone for helping me out. Without any of
you, no of this would be possible.” With Haru’s last words, he could only wait and see
what Kahlan would be able to do next. This time he had her where he wanted her. The
last thing Haru was able to do as the pain almost became to great, was to raise his lance
and begin to strike down to attack Kahlan with whatever strength he could gather.
Kahlan - October 12, 2003 09:06 PM (GMT)
Kahlan looked up at Haru as she felt the sickening feeling of her sword going into his side. He was smiling...unbelievably he was smiling. She stared up at him in amazement.. 'he really must be a wackjob, or going insane...' Then she realized he was smiling at the fact he wounded her. Glancing at her left leg she saw the blood coming out and wondered how long she could hold up before to much blood left. 'I didn't think the cut was that deep..' But she could feel the searing pain of it throbing with each beat of her heart.
Haru grabbed her arm and she looked up to see him getting ready to attack, she held tight to the rapier and waited for the right moment. When she judged it that haru was likely to be thrown off she used her free hand to grab his that was holding the lance and support herself with her good leg as she used the foot of her bad leg to push off his wound still holding an iron grip on her rapier, but falling back in the attempt, and sending white hot pain through her body from using her bad leg. She landed on her back and held her rapier at her side looking at haru waiting to see what would happen. Gritting her teeth she though 'I will never give up, I will prove them wrong, God help me in this struggle.'
Harufu-Erubishi - October 12, 2003 09:39 PM (GMT)
Watching as Kahlan hit the ground, the smile from Haru’s face soon faded away. The
pain came to be too much as his breathe became heavy. All that Haru could do was place
his knee down to the ground as he grabbed for his side to give some attempt to stop the
pain from his side. Finding his lance in front of his, all attempts to grab his lance seemed
to only met a dead end. Soon all that Haru could do was grab his side as the touch of
blood reached his hand.
Finally finding the strength to grab his lance in front of him, it seemed that some of his
senses were becoming lost. No longer was he able to her the voices from the thousands
of people in the stand, but Haru was only able to hear a slight ringing in both his ears.
Getting back to his feet seemed to be an even greater challenge as Haru began to sway
back and forth.
“This has been too long.” Haru commented to himself as he looked towards Kahlan. “At
least I am not the only one.” That was about all Haru could say as he fell to his knees
once again. This time Haru refused to let go of his lance as he used it to keep himself up.
All he would have to worry about was the threat that his opponent would recover before
he could. Hopefully it didn’t happen but Haru had lost allot more strength than he once
thought.
Slightly as his vision began to blur and return as if on a cycle, Haru remembered the
warning he was given before he left the tavern. “Run all you want Harufu. One day
you will find you end by my own hands and no one else.”
“I haven’t forgotten and we will see what is to come.” Haru yells as he stands on his feet,
putting allot of his weight against his lance, the only real thing supporting him.
“I will not go down.”
Kahlan - October 12, 2003 10:06 PM (GMT)
Kahlan just laid there and watched Haur fall to one knee and not grip his lance. 'he is in pain yet he still tries..' her own leg still throbed but the bleeding had seemed to subside even the littlest bit, her clenched teeth however were starting to hurt.
“I haven’t forgotten and we will see what is to come.” Haru yells as he stands on his feet, putting allot of his weight against his lance, the only real thing supporting him. Kahlan was surprised at his yelling at nothingness. But shrugged it off as either going insane or pain..one of the two.
“I will not go down.”
"I commend you then for your courage." she replied with a blank expression, masking her pain, her thoughts, but over all her plan. Kicking out at his lance, pulling up her sword at the same time, she hoped to take it out from under him so that he would fall forward onto her sword. 'All or nothing the moment of truth... and it's lasting an eternity' is all she could think as she waited to see.'
Harufu-Erubishi - October 12, 2003 10:35 PM (GMT)
"I commend you then for your courage." said Kahlan as she moved closer to where Haru
was standing. There was nothing from Haru’s face as he finally felt the pain within his
body. The time around the two only seemed to slow down as Kahlan proceeded to kick
his lance out from under him. It seemed that the moment before she made contact with
the lance, just froze as the two were there.
A small laugh began to come from Haru as he felt his lance fall from his side. What
Kahlan was excepting was not what happened as the lance fell to the ground. Still
holding her rapier to Haru’s chest, it seemed that something else was holding him up and
keeping the match from ending.
Lifting up his head to look into Kahlan’s eyes, all that was on Haru’s face was a smile as
he laughed and his now blood red eyes looked towards Kahlan. There was something
wrong with Haru but only one person could understand what was going on. Still holding
onto his place, Haru began to step forward, driving Kahlan’s rapier deeper into his chest.
The blood began to slide down the rapier as it soon reached Kahlan’s hand.
Nothing seemed to bother Haru as he continued to laugh at what was unseen. Slowly he
nodded his head back and forth as if disapproving of what was just done.
“No no no. I don’t think you did the right thing.” Haru still looked towards Kahlan as he
waited for her response.
Kahlan - October 12, 2003 10:50 PM (GMT)
Kahlan watched Haru and was surprised, somewhat firghtened by his reactions . her plan had worked, but he was acting insane, something wasn't right... Something was keeping haru from completely falling on her rapier and it piercing through him... and she had no clue what but only want tio get away.
With her good leg she put all her weight against him and kicked off yanking her sword free and pushing him away. She rolled to the side, svereal feet away and ended with her right leg up with all the weight on her left. Her head hung down and her bloody rapier down at the side in her bloody hand, she caught her breath, and then looked up at haru. Her fierce green eyes staring into his, waiting for a reaction, waiting to see if an unknown force helped him again.
'I know not what's going on, but fall Fall!' She screamed silently urging Haru to fall and be done with, for the battle to be over, so she could treat her leg and have it healed, and to whipe off all the blood.
Harufu-Erubishi - October 12, 2003 11:10 PM (GMT)
Nothing to the world felt right to Haru. He could feel as Kahlan pushed against him to
remove her rapier. Moving father away from Haru, the smile from his face soon faded
away. The wound on his chest would not stop bleeding but that didn’t seem to cause any
worry to Haru. Slowly as he was able to see Kahlan look into his eyes, all he would soon
be able to see was nothing but sky.
Haru had fallen onto his back as he was feeling nothing around him. Just keeping still
upon the ground, Haru began to feel something but nothing came to mind. All he was
able to see was a never ending darkness, nothing else. Slowly he was able to feel
something else again. The sky began to return to his vision as he figured that he was still
on the ground.
There it was again, a feeling of something that was around him. Closing his eyes to his
own choice, Haru was able to figure out what he was feeling. He was able to see Kahlan
standing where she was but something was coming from her that still seemed to be a
mystery. All of his senses soon returned to his as Haru began to lift himself from the
ground. Getting to his feet, Haru seemed to lose his smile and his laugh as he looked
towards Kahlan once again.
Looking to his own body, Haru noticed that most of his clothing was covered with his
own blood and dirt from the ground. Walking over to where his lance was dropped, Haru
bends over to pick it up and prepares to stand in front of Kahlan one more time.
“I want to thank you for everything you have done. No matter what happens at the end of
this match, I will never forget what you have given me. But this isn’t the time I can ever
give up.” Sooner or later Haru would have to leave this match just to heal himself. Soon
it would be too much for his to control. Soon it would be too late.
Kahlan - October 12, 2003 11:33 PM (GMT)
Kahlan looked down at the ground and took deeps breaths her eyes closed. She let her muscles relax and waited.
“I want to thank you for everything you have done. No matter what happens at the end of this match, I will never forget what you have given me. But this isn’t the time I can ever give up.” Sooner or later Haru would have to leave this match just to heal himself. Soon it would be too much for his to control. Soon it would be too late.
Kahlan slowly lifted her head up, and her fierce eyes met his. She sighed more in exasperation and stood up. It didn't surprise her that he was once again normal, something was weird about him anyway.. 'and now he thanks me? he thanks me when he has something else helping him...' her anger just rose at the thought.
"If you want to be thankful for the wounds I have given you, than be my guest. But as of this moment I only see you as a crazed lunatic with many problems and something helping you in this battle." kahlan raised her rapier and waited for him to move. 'what is going on!' she thought to herself waiting. Wanting the attack to come but somewhat fearing what in the world's going on, because of haru's ranting's and such.
Harufu-Erubishi - October 13, 2003 12:01 AM (GMT)
"If you want to be thankful for the wounds I have given you, than be my guest. But as of
this moment I only see you as a crazed lunatic with many problems and something
helping you in this battle."
Haru heard her words but knew that there was truth to what she was saying but not to all
of it. Looking to her, his movements were slow as everything seemed to be a challenge.
Finally Haru began to briefly explain himself.
“You may think that I have lost my mind, but that is wrong. I have gained control of it.
As for something helping though this match, you are right. But the help I am getting is
something that you and others may have as well. The help I am getting is knowing that I
will soon be able to answer the questions cursing my mind. Knowing that everyone that I
have ever cared for is supporting me with each move I take. While I am not one to show
it, I have reached my limits but that doesn’t mean I will give up.”
Looking in front of Kahlan, Haru was unable to move anymore. All that his strength had
to offer was that he would be able to stand with his lance in hand. The fight was too
much but that was not the reason Haru would give up. If it meant that he would die to
find his answers than that was something he was willing to do, but until then nothing
would stop him from fighting.
“If I may, why are you here fighting? Is it for power, for money, or do you to have
something hidden away that even you are unable to answer?” Haru looked towards
Kahlan but didn’t know what to think. Through out this match, nothing seemed to escape
her for her reasons to fight. Maybe that was something he would soon find out.
Kahlan - October 13, 2003 12:16 AM (GMT)

Knowing that everyone that I have ever cared for is supporting me with each move I take. While I am not one to show it, I have reached my limits but that doesn’t mean I will give up.”
Kahlan bows her head to haru. "Brave to say you have reached your limits, but stupid at the same time, nothing meant by that either though.." kahlan looked at haru in a different light for a moment but quickly shook it away, she was in a battle and it was her or him, one or the other.
“If I may, why are you here fighting? Is it for power, for money, or do you to have
something hidden away that even you are unable to answer?” Haru looked towards
Kahlan but didn’t know what to think. Through out this match, nothing seemed to escape her for her reasons to fight. Maybe that was something he would soon find out.
Kahlan looked up at him her face betraying nothing but her eyes off in the distance. "I entered this for another reason. I have no one to care for me so i don't have that to give me strength, no reason for money or power either. Moreso to prove myself to, well myself, and people that may doubt me. those are my reasons and I chose not to let them down or loose."
The conversation really puzzled her and she shook her head to get out of the past, and once again her eyes were fierce. 'I'll wait to see what he does.' she thought silently her rapier at the ready.
Harufu-Erubishi - October 13, 2003 12:43 AM (GMT)
"I entered this for another reason. I have no one to care for me so I don't have that to give

myself, and people that may doubt me. those are my reasons and I chose not to let them
down or loose."
Haru knew that asking her anything else would be pointless. That was about all he was
going to get from her during this match. That wasn’t the problem Haru was facing
though. Even though he would have preferred it, Haru was still unable to do anything
that would be helpful.
Without even thinking about it, Haru began to use the end of his lance to draw something
into the dirt. The markings on the floor were even different from what Haru could
remember. Looking at the ground, he couldn’t even figure out what was just gone. The
markings were something he had seen somewhere but where was something he couldn’t
answer.
The match seemed to be a deadlock as both Haru and Kahlan stood still waiting for the
other to make a move. It seemed that the first to make the mistake to move first would be
hurt the worst of the two. Nothing was done between the two. All Haru could do was
turn his head back to face Kahlan as he continued to write on the dirt. His eyes changed
to his original colors but nothing else seemed to change about him. His body became
weaker with the passing moments but he would still stand as much as he could do. It was
a game of time but maybe he didn’t have enough time to finish this match.
Kahlan - October 13, 2003 12:59 AM (GMT)
Kahlan looked down at the incoherent symbols in the dirt, and just looked back up at haru. 'why would he care about why I enetered this fight? What does it matter?'
After a time she got tired of waiting for him to make the move. she also noticed he probably wouldn't and started thinking of a way to disarm him and yet keep her rapier at the same time. 'She closed her eyes in thought for a brief moment but openedf them up, jjust to make sure Haru was still standing there and not attacking. 'If I wait it out, he'll eventually collapse... but I don't feel like waiting..' she smirked at the thought and began thinking of a tactic again.
Kahlan charged, not that hard or far since they were so close and kicked at the lance. not so hard as to throw herself off if she missed but enough to at least knock it if she connected. She brought her elbow up at the same time to uppercut his jaw. her whole front has facing where she had kicked at the lance and her back was to nothing. She was completly perpendicular and had her sword in her left hand ready to defend at the hint that something didnt go the way she had hoped.
Harufu-Erubishi - October 13, 2003 01:45 AM (GMT)
It was finally time for something to happen. Kahlan was the first to move but it also
seemed that she was the only one to move. Haru continued to stand where he was as he
watched her repeat an attack once again. ‘Going after my lance again huh’ Haru thought
to himself as she began to kick his lance. ‘Something is different though’ Looking at
Kahlan, Haru failed to see the rest of her attack and soon found out that the uppercut soon
found its mark into his face.
While Haru was unable to avoid Kahlan’s second attack, he was at least able to keep his
grip onto the lance which seemed to only move slightly. Feeling the force of her hit, Haru
began to sway backwards as the pain continued to race through him. Looking for an
opening, so far Haru saw nothing. Seeing the blood from her leg dash across the dirt,
something came to Haru. He knew that it wouldn’t work as well but he had to try.
“You may be tough but you should never use a wounded leg to attack. If you weren’t
wounded your plan may have had more of an effect, but I’m sorry that there is no such
luck.”
Haru was still amazed at the risk his opponent was taking. Sure it was stupid but at least
she was willing to do everything that would help. The space between Haru and Kahlan
gave him enough room to see that if she tried something like that again, this would really
be her last fight.
“I know that you know this already but you need to watch for your leg. I have seen that
you choose not to use your leg but if you risk it again, nothing good may come from it.
And before you ask, no I am not trying to care but I would hate to see a fighter stop being
a fighter because of something like this.”
Looking around for something that may help, Haru sees the markings he wrote onto the
ground. They were still there. Even though they went through the struggle over the
markings, they were still there and still the same as before. There was still something
about the markings on the ground that brought troubled thoughts to Haru. Knowing that
what he is about to do is going to be the dumbest thing possible, Haru prepares his lance
to attack and hopes than all goes well.
“If those are the same markings, then there is more to the markings than I once thought”
whispered Haru to himself.
Kahlan - October 13, 2003 01:58 AM (GMT)
Kahlan felt her elbow connect with his face, but knew she hadn't taken out his lance. it was a good thing that she had her sword ready for protection.
“You may be tough but you should never use a wounded leg to attack. If you weren’t wounded your plan may have had more of an effect, but I’m sorry that there is no such luck.”
Kahlan looked down at her leg, forgetting that she had used it, and she had been ignoring the pain. Her whole leg had the dark color of blood, and was sticky, but she tried to again ignore it untill the end of the battle.
“I know that you know this already but you need to watch for your leg. I have seen that you choose not to use your leg but if you risk it again, nothing good may come from it. And before you ask, no I am not trying to care but I would hate to see a fighter stop being a fighter because of something like this.”
Kahlan looked at haru quizically. A person she had wounded was telling her to be careful. 'how strange...' Anyway thanks for the concern. She tightened her grip on her rapier and was ready for his attack when she noticed that his body posture had changed. 'Is this battle ever going to end god?' and am i becoming religous now' she thought to herself, thinking back to all the times she had asked god for help during the battle.
Harufu-Erubishi - October 13, 2003 02:26 AM (GMT)
Beginning to thrust his lance forward, Haru couldn’t really think of what would happen.
Looking towards Kahlan, he wasn’t ever sure if what he was about to do would even
work. The only problem that he saw was that he would be op[en to an attack, but this
was his only lead.
“Kahlan this has to be done before anything else.” Finally thrusting his lance as hard as
he could, it became apparent that Kahlan wasn’t the target of the attack. Taking his
chances, the only thing that seemed to concern him was the markings on the ground to see
if his thoughts were true.
When Haru looked at the markings on the ground and the result of his attack, what he saw
was nothing he could ever believe. His lance was inches away from the markings and no
matter how hard he tried, he was unable to move his lance any farther. A strange glow
began to engulf the markings as Haru continued to move his lance forward as much as he
could.
“Just as I thought.” As Haru’s last words left him, all he could do was return his lance his
side and wait for Kahlan to react. It wasn’t something he really wanted but he at least
was able to prove his thoughts correct.
“So even here, I am plagued by that cursed tree.” Looking back to Kahlan, Haru may
have showed too much of his intentions to her, that soon may cause problems for him.
All that he could concentrate on was Kahlan in front of him. ‘Something has to come
soon’ thought Haru as he still looked forward.
Kahlan - October 13, 2003 02:38 AM (GMT)
Kahlan watched haru and was becoming greatly confused at what the hell he was doing. It seemed like he wasn't really in the fight anymore, in his own world, that entertwined with the battle.
“So even here, I am plagued by that cursed tree.” Looking back to Kahlan, Haru may have showed too much of his intentions to her, that soon may cause problems for him. All that he could concentrate on was Kahlan in front of him.
Kahlan looked at him and decided she needed to end it now before anything else weird happened. 'I have no clue what he is up to...' Kahlan stabbed her sword at a slant, so as to be harder to block. she drove it straight for the center of his chest, all the weight on her good leg and taking pressure off the bad one. 'If this doesn't work chances for me aren't looking good..' she thought as it seemed an eternity for her blade to near.
Harufu-Erubishi - October 13, 2003 03:17 AM (GMT)
Seeing Kahlan begin to thrust her rapier forward for her attack, Haru already knew what
to do. Because she had used a similar attack before going for his chest, he knew that
because she was relying on her good leg, she wouldn’t be able to avoid what was to
come. Taking his time and making sure that she was close enough so that nothing else
would happen, Haru begins to start his plan.
While driving forward her rapier, Haru knew that nothing would be different from this
time. This was the final attack that would truly decided the match. Before Kahlan could
react, Haru screams out “Lance Spin” as he turns just enough to be missed by Kahlan’s
attack but continues with the rotation of his attack as he aims to strike her back. Anyway
anyone would look at it this was the last thing that Haru could do. Just hopefully because
of her bad leg and putting all her weight on her good leg, Kahlan would not be able to
escape his attack.
“It was a great idea for you to put all you had into that attack but still remember that you
should always take your own injuries into account. If your leg wasn’t wounded, you may
have had a better chance.” Finding out that he too made the mistake of pushing himself
too far, Haru finally found himself down for the count. While on two knees on the
ground, it was the only way he could hold himself. Everything else had taken the most
from him and it was all he had left. No matter what happened it was the end. Haru had
nothing else to give and was finally able to find some peace.
Whispering to himself, hoping that Kahlan was the only one who heard his words, “Good
match, I hope we will be able to do this again some time. Till we met again...”
Kahlan - October 14, 2003 12:55 AM (GMT)
Kahlan felt only air when her sword hit nothing. 'Shit!' was all she could think when she knew now that she was open for attack. She tried to back up but moved to late. The lance tore across the middle of her stomach, cutting through the breast plate and across her her stomach. She could feel her flesh open and the sting of it, not pain, thank god for her breastplate, which at least took most of the damage.
Kahlan backed up away from haru, never taking her eyes off him and let her bloody rapier at her side in her bloody hand, with his blood. She looked at the gash in her breastplate and saw the little bit of blood that was coming over it. 'Least it's not worse than that...' but her abdomen still burned somewhat and her leg was starting to go numb.
“Good match, I hope we will be able to do this again some time. Till we met again...” Kahlan bows her head to him. "twas a good match... till we meet again sometime under different cricumstances I hope." for the first time she cracks somewhat of a sincere smile.

Harufu
Tactics: 10 (Wow... just... wow. You explained everything very well, and justified your tactics and methods of attack via inner thought. Great job! ^_^ )
Regulation: 10 (A Jump, and 2 or so Lance Spins is Well within your range of techniques. Congrats)
Quailty: 8 (You had some spelling errors and grammarical problems, but overall not too shabby.)
Fairness: 8.2 (I do recall you forcing a hit of some sort. I don't remember which it was, but it was there. no worries though. There were some other things, mainly taking so long to die. How I saw it you would have been dead halfway down page 2. So that, too, hurt you here. But not bad)
Technicaility: 8.7 (Again an impeccable job, you did very well here. Of course you took hits, but that Lance Spin to avoid the last one was nice, too. So kudos!)
Overall: 9 (Excellent Job!)
Kahlan
Tactics: 8.8 (I didn't see too terribly much thought process or explanation at first, but you gradually got up there.)
Regulation: 10 (Those Brave Slashes were well within your abilities, good job.)
Quailty: 9.3 (I can't give you a 10 here because of a little blunder in Page 1. You used a shoulder rush while slashing your sword about on one side. Now, technically that's Shield Rush w/o the shield, which is a lvl 15 skill. So that detracted slightly from your score, along with a few spelling errors.)
Fairness: 9.2 (I didn't see any forced hits, and you were clean and concise with your attacks.)
Technicaility: 9 (You dodged some, you took some, and your wounds affected your fighting style. So kudos to you!)
Overall: 9.3 (Wow! A close match!)
Congratulations you two, you both did excellent jobs and I commend you for your prowess! However, Kahlan took the field by a very narrow margin. So she will move onto the next round.
Kahlan + 1 Lvl
Harufu + 1 Lvl
