Description: Another ~Solo~ Quest

Shryo - October 4, 2003 12:17 AM (GMT)
Shryo looks around and sees no one on the streets of the city which was particularly odd for a city as big as this one on the main continent. Shryo smiled as he walked up to the boards to see if anyone had posted any new quests that have not been taken already by some other people. Shryo started to read one and it mentioned adventure, action, and new monsters that were just discovered by explorers to the island. Shryo laughed at the post thinking it was a joke, but seeing only one slot left he walked quickly to the boat in which was painted silver and red with brown masts and blue sails.

Shryo thought the boat looked like somthing from an old picture or story book that was told to him in the monestary back home. He walked up to the boat and asked if this was the place from the sheet on the board. A stout old man walked out of the cabin about that time with a huge sword dangling on a sheath on his pants. The man answered yes, but there would be one thing that Shryo would have to do before he could enter the boat. The captain announced that Shryo must defeat him in a duel of sorts. The captain warned him though that not one person who signed up and came had defeated the captain yet. Shryo smiled at the captain and said that he accepted the duel. The captain then pronounced that the two shall duel on the boat.

Shryo then drew his staff and put his hood on, which he only did in a battle in which he knew would be a good fight. Hac kept his Dirk hidden where he could pull it out if the Captain ever got close enough where Shryo could quickly pull it out and use it. Shryo saw the captain put his hand on the sword a his side and pull it out. Shryo was amazed by the glow the sword emitted. A flashback then came to Shryo mind of a sword his father had that had the same glow as that one. Hac knew that this man either knew his father or was his father. Shryo then spoke up to the man," If I win you have to tell me somthing about your sword also, ok?". Shryo looked as the man was puzzled but he agreed to the sword demand. Shryo then waited for the captain of the ship to make the first move.

OOC: Hope this isn't a closed thread. hehe If so, please ignore.

IC:
She has been in this city for a while now. She adored this place and has felt at home ever since she arrived here. She held her red wand and looked around with silvery orbs, closing her eyes for a moment and letting out a small sigh. Her hair sways in the passing breeze as she opens her eyes and looks around once again. She was confused. Where was all the people? She usually sees at least 10 or 12 people where ever she went. But this place was empty. She felt a little uneasy about this, but pushed this unneccessary feeling aside for now

She walked over to the Bulletin that held all the open quests and found nothing. She heaved yet another sigh and shook her head slightly. She pulled her cloak more tightly around her as she turned, another breeze catching her long white locks, causing them to wrap around her body a bit. She tossed them back in a frustrated manner as she heard noside coming from the boat dock.

In the distance she saw a boat that was very interesting colors indeed. They took her attention immediately. She narrowed her eyes as she pulled her hood over her head, her elven ears sticking into the inside of the hood. She brushed the golden plate headwear on her forehead and then pulled the hood a little over her eyes. She walked towards the boat, looking upon those who were on the vessel. She raised a brow as she recognized someone. She bit her lip slightly and pulled the cloak around her body once more, covering her dark skin.

As she stood before the boat, she realized that this guy she had met recently, as well as some random guy was about to fight. She couldn't help but chuckle and shake her head

You must be very bored, Cleric.....

She said in a low voice, but loud enough for him to catch the words.

OOC: Ack..that sucked

Shryo then watched the position of the captains stance so he knew what the captain would be doing by the movement of his feet. It seemed like a stalemate as none of the two moved from their spot in which they started in. Shryo then knew the captain wanted Shryo to make the first move by the smile and gleam Shryo saw in the captains eyes and on his mouth. Shryo was ready for what the captain could throw at him. He then stuck up his staff and ran towards the captain and his sword quickly. Shryo then noticed a faint movement of the captains feet. Shryo then moved to the right while the captain missed the stab in which he tried to execute. Shryo laughed as he parried the blade and hit the captain in the stomach with his staff. Shryo saw the captain was dumbfounded because he was struck with awe on how Shryo could read his moves even before the attack was going to be followed through with. Shryo then saw the captain again come at him but the captains feet could not be read this time as the had leaped in the air and was about to slash Shryo in his arm. Shryo had no time to move backwards, forwards, or sideways from his current position as the captain was almost upon him. Quickly, Shryo put up his staff and tried to block the attack of the captains heavy sword. It did not work out to well as Shryos staff could not be held against the strength of the captains sword because Shryo being a cleric was a lot weaker than a sword master or knight, whatever the captain was. Shryo had to think of a way to read the Captains attacks so he did not have to stare at his feet just to see and make it obvious even though it had worked the first time. The attack of the captains struck the arm of Shryo and made a gash in his arm. Shryo knew he had to cast his Holy Ankh spell and fast if he did not want to lose to much blood from his body which could end up killing him if enough blood escaped. The words Holy Ankh, shouted Shryo as a white light engulfed him and white flames started to heal up all the wounds and give strength lost to Shryo.

Shryo then saw a strange thing happen after he healed himself because the captain then sheathed his blade and started laughing at Shryo with a jolly laugh which made his stomach jiggle up and down. Shryo then did not know what to think but since the captain was unarmed he knew not what to do, whether he should attack an unarmed man or let his guard down where he could be attacked. It seemed Shryo was in a pickle and he did not know what to do. He finally decided to put his rod on his little holder on his side and also put his dirk which he had in his other hand back in its small leather death in a slit in his cloak. The captain then spoke to Shryo again and he said, You sure have grown little Shryo!" That statement scared Shryo because he was fighting someone that knew him and Shryo did not like fighting allies. "Who are you?" Shryo asked. The man just stood there in the same spot and laughed again as though he was enjoying this meeting of the two. The man then explained his story to Shryo which was very peculiar but for some odd reason Shryo believed every word the man said. The story Shryo herd from the captain was very unbelievable in his own mind because it seemed the man was a friend of Hacs fathers who he met in the mystic land of Avalon some time ago.

Captain story: It was a cold night in the streets of Avalon where there was little peace with all the monsters attacking the land and taking it over one island at a time. The captain was bringing a load of soldiers back from a battle on another small island which was part of the Avolonian territory. The battle must have been gruesome for the captain only brought back one fourths of the soldiers he took. The ride was very quite except for the wind which howled like a banshee of a house that was spooked. The captain then saw a man all dressed in white sitting by himself and it seemed to the captain he had no scars or scratches from the battle on him because no one was treating him and there was no blood soaking through his white cloak anywhere at all. The captain then raised an eyebrow of suspicion and walked up to the man and asked him why he had no injuries from the battle when all of his partners had badly damaged bodies. The man spoke softly but solemnly and said," It seems these people were reckless in battle where I only relied in the gods to aid me in my fight." The captain look very surprised by the response but also disgusted on how this lowly knight could put himself above all other people but the gods. The captain though let it slip as the man got up and pointed his sword towards a scar the captain had on his forehead.. The captain thought the man wanted to have a duel but after the sword was put down the captain felt where the scar was and found that it was not there anymore. The captain yelled at the man to just not stand there bet to help heal up some of these fatal wounds that your partners have. "I cannot do that," the man said in discomfort," I was given these powers by a powerful priestess but little did I know that I could not heal a person whos wounds would make them die." Only those persons wounds which have almost healed up all the way like that scar that was on your forehead." The man put his head down in shame and then sat back on the side of the boat and asked the captain to leave him alone. The man then told the captain to wait for he had a story that he needed to tell someone because it forever haunted him in his dreams. The captain did not want to upset the man so he sat next to the man and listened to his story.

Mans Story: It was ten long years ago when I was called out of my house on the outer rim to fight some monsters that were plaguing the entire population of the surrounding allied cities. The man then rushed off to fight the demons killing hem one by one with his buddies by his side and helping him. In the midst of a battle a cry was heard from the forest, one that sounded like a mix between a lady and the beautiful whine of a horse. The man knew danger was lurking out there so he had to go to go investigate so that it would not reach his wife and only son. The man rushed into the forest friends behind him while the three of them drew there sword to see that all that was there was a dead horse, but the man had to go investigate the horse to determine what killed it. The man was in horror as he saw that this beautiful creature was no horse but a unicorn which everyone knew were the most sacred and rare animal in all the world. It was still alive but barely hanging on and since there was no cleric around the unicorn was going to die but then a voice of teenage child came in his head. "Dip your sword in my blood to help you defeat the evil that is coming from Avalon." The man knew not what to think of this but he listened to the voice in his head and dipped the tip of his sword in the blood. A strange thing then happened the sword started turning yellow and then it seemed to glow like the morning sun. The man ducked down and said thank you to the unicorn which smiled and then turned over and died. Creatures like this which are pure should not be killed for the amusement of monsters the man thought as a tear rolled down his cheek. It is time to go back to town to pack our things and head to Avalon. We must go there to defeat the evil that is coming forth. The other men shook there heads and they ran back to town as fast as they could. The man said good bye for now to his wife and son and then hopped on a boat to Avalon. Many years later after the letters stopped coming in from his wife the man decided to head back with his friends since they also missed their families. The three entered the city to find it burnt and very few people which were alive. The man rushed to his house and shouted the names of his son and wife. Elaine where are you, Shryo please answer m if you are home son it is me your father. No one answered but an old widow which heard the yelling. Hi Nate it has been a long while has it not?, she said. The man named Nate thought for a minute and realized that this lady was Renona the village elder. What happened here Renona? Nate asked. Monsters attacked here not to long ago and I am sorry to say it but Elaine died trying to protect the city but Shryo survived and is looking for you out there in the world somewhere and someday when the time is right you two will meet face to face.

The captain said that was the story of your father and where he is now I would not know but I do know he is and forever will be looking for you as you are looking for him. After his story he cave me the Unicorn dipped sword which I keep by my side and will keep by my side for all eternity. Shryo was almost crying from the story but then lightened up and said captain I think we should move out of the port as fast as possible since I have a score to settle with a monster that lives in the sea. I will point the co-ordinance on the map and we can make a little detour so that I can kill the beast which defeated me last time. The captain and Shryo smiled as he went into the captains cabin and plotted their route. He then went down to his cabin and sat on his bed and listening to a phonograph. He fell asleep before the first song ended which explained that he had a rough day.

Kaya Kunami - October 16, 2003 05:44 AM (GMT)
She watched the battle from the dock, her eyes narrowing lightly, but held interest within the Silvery orbs. She crossed her arms over her chest, her long sleeves overlapping slightly. She then opened her robes quickly, her short off-white dress showing just a tab as the cloth was moved aside. She puts her wand away inside her robes and closed them again. She looked back up towards the boat as she watched Shyro fight the man, who she assumed was the captain of the ship.

She cringed lightly as Shyro was slashed across the shoulder, seeing the blood trickle down his robes. "Come on...cast your healing spell" she spoke in her mind as she watched with a bit of worry inside, but the emotion not showing on her face, which could barely be seen anyhow thanks to the hood. But she smirked lightly as Shyro casted the spell and healed him. Her eyes then moved over to the captain, showing much interest indeed. Why did he sheath his weapon? what was going on, she wondered. But he then saw them both smiling and she looked upon this with a curious expression. she took a few steps closer, to listen to their words. The captain told a story....it seemed it was about Shyro's father. She bit her lip gently, thinking back to when she was a child and had parents. But that was long ago and she couldnt even remember who they were. She closed her eyes and turned her head from the scene for a moment to comtemplate. She tended to her thoughts, filing away those that were no longer needed: bad memories...rough childhood...but she then thought that these memories are what made her the way she was and she shrugged. She shook her head lightly and let out a long sigh.

She opened her eyes and then looked forward to see them leaving the deck of the ship. where were they going? Her eyes narrowed to slits as they then darted back and forth to see if anyone was around. she then stepped forward towards the ship, her robe swinging from side to side as she got upon the ship. Her hood was still drawn over her head to hide her face.

OOC: BLAAAAAAAAH!
