Title: A Ruinous Deserted City
Description: Shryo ~Solo~ Quest
Shryo - September 16, 2003 04:23 AM (GMT)
Shryo arriving back on the main island of the Outer Rim goes and collects his rewards from the last quest. Shryo was still recuperating from the last quest against the evil priestess. He now knew that all in this realm was not good but not evil either. Shryo went to a billboard to see if any boats were leaving soon. He saw one was leaving in fifteen minutes. Shryo thought that this would give him time to shop around for some items. He quickly left to the weapon store to buy a new rod for the one he had was too low of a level to fight a quest with a difficulty of two. Shryo quickly stopped and got knew armor and some items for the quest. Quickly he hurried to the huge boat which would carry him to the island. Shryo noticed he was the only one aboard beside the captain and his crew. He went up to the captain and asked why no other passengers were aboard. The captain of the vessle laughed and said because the ship was heading to a deserted island where a crisis happened that no one can explain. So the people think it is haunted asked Shryo? You could say that sonny said the captain. Shryo knew that lie ahead of him would be tough by himself, but he will conquer anything that gets in his way. The island Shryo was going to was a day away according to the crew so Shryo caught up on some well deserved sleep. A sound of thunder awoke Shryo as he sprang from the bed. Above deck the storm was hitting hard and rocking the boat back and forth. Humongous waves were barreling towards the ship one after another. The captain tried and tried to steady the boat, but something was stopping the boat from turning. Shryo saw the captain finally get the boat under control but it was too late the boat had a hole in the side and it wasfiling the boat fast. Shryo was getting his belongings together when water stared rushing in his room in the middle of the vessel. So much was happening at once Shryo quickly rushed to the top deck. The captain being an honorable man was going to go down with his ship for all eternity. Shryo made a blessing toward the captain and jumped off the boat saying his goodbyes to the captain.
The next thing Shryo knew is that he was on the shore of an island, and somehow alive. He got up and saw that this island was like a beutiful paradise on half the island. Far away though on a mountain top lied an evil looking village. From where Shryo was standing the city looked as if it had been deserted for years maybe months. This seemed like the island he was suppose to be at. Quickly establishing a fire to dry his robes so not to catch a cold Shryo knew he was the only living creature on the island. Shryo felt a small power of kindness emitting from the ruinous city. Surrounding the good though was a huge chunk of evil. Shryo knew his goal was to get there, but would he do once he was there. The flux of evil seemed to strong for him to take on alone. He knew he would have to be careful not to get killed in the process seeing as he was alone and with no protection of a powerful person besides his almighty God. With God in his spirit and hope in his heart Shryo got up and started walking toward the forest. When he got there it seemed like he had shrunk because all the trees were much taller than himself. A glimse of a creature Shryo caught through the corner of his eye. He heard of a creature like this before in the Monestary. It was called a dragon. The monster could fly and breath fire at a victim. The creature Shryo saw though was ripped and its skin was falling off. He muttered under his breath," By his holyness it is an undead dragon." This dragon was not like the priestess who Shryo had previously help defeat. No this dragon was pure evil and it seemed to be haunting Shryo from above. Shryo now knew his mission. It was to save the good left in the village and eradicate the evil dragon from the face of the earth. The dragon made a swoop to torment Shryo, but right next to the forest Shryo dived in while the dragon flew back to the village. A voice similar to the priestess had came into his head it said save me and hurry before I am killed. The message cut off and nothing could be heard. Shryo continued into the forest hoping to get to the base of the mountain before dark.
Shryo - September 17, 2003 03:25 AM (GMT)
He quickly walked through the forest not wanting to waste to much energy. Shryo quickly glanced to the side of him feeling like he was being watched or hunted down by something. He turned back being very careful about what he did from there on. A twig snapped at his feet and this triggered a reaction to the monster who was following him. It popped out of the bushes and it looked like a zombie, but with more bones than flesh. Heh Shryo said you must be a skeleton. The Skeleton quickly ran with its arms flowing lightly behind it like leaves in the blowing wind. Comeing in faster than expected Hac barely had time to dodge the attack of the Skeleton. The skeleton quickly turned not giving Shryo a chance to move again. Shryo fell to the ground in blood but not dead. Shryo was at the moment casting his Holy Ankh spell while the monster slashed him with its claws. The spell was finally cast while Shryo was on the ground. It was focused only on the Skeleton so with a direct hit the Skeleton fell and died as its bones desintegrated to dust particles and blew away scattering across the island and ocean. Shryo had to heal himself before reinforcements came and tried to destroy him. Shryo hardly knew what would come after hin next he just hoped it was not a powerful monster. Now healed up Shryo moved as fast as wind to stay ahead of the demons that he heard stomping after him. It seemed the monsters would catch up with him any second so hurriedly with God in his belief, Shryo started casting his Holy Ankh spell again. Running and casting spells did not mix together well. The spell finally finished and Shryo looked behind him. What he saw surprised him. It was seven Skeletons running after him. This over excited Shryo because he knew he could not stand up to that many monsters. Stopping to a halt and turning around Shryo noticed the Skeletons were gaining yard after yard. Holy Ankh was cast on the the first four monsters who were all lined up side by side with the last two behind him. The first four fell instantly in their tracks as their souls returned to the resting place. Shryo knew he had a fight on his hands and ths fight had to be won to continue. Knowing it would take awhile to gain stregnth to use another Holy Ankh spell, Shryo had to block and attack the creatures to get rid of them and let their souls return to rest in eternal peace and sleep. The two Skeletons caught up to Shryo really fast. One swung at Shryo but he put his rod up to block the attack, and the other Skeleton tried to hit Shryo low but he again evaded by jumping over the long claws of the Skeleton. Blocking the quick attack from the Skeletons gained enough energy to use Holy Ankh again, but another problem arouse. The spell took a minute or two to cast. Quickly jolting off further into the woods which seemed more like a haunted jungle Shryo saw a clear spot where the bright moon was shining into a clear cut field of grass. He quickly stopped in the middle of the clearing and turned to see two Skeletons at his face. He knew the time was now to cast the spell, but suddenly the two monsters disentigrated in front of him. He felt Holy energy flowing through his body like sand coming down an hour glass. This was a Holy spot where Shryo could be safe from any evil that came his way. Shryo knew the night was getting colder by the second but thankfully he had his big long robe to keep him warm in the cold night.
It took forever for Shryo to get to sleep. He got up though and made a fire with the surrounding supplies which were grass a few pieces of wood and sticks and a few rocks. The grass was dry so Shryo knocked two of the rocks together with the dried grass underneath some wood which was fixed in the place of a tee-pee shape. The fire lit up on the second or third try to start it. Shryo made sure he got more dried grass and fast because without the dries grass the fire would go out because the flame would have nothing to run on. The night sky was filled with stars. All running across in every direction. Shryo started nameing constellations when he finally fell asleep dreaming about where his father was. In his dream he saw a throne and on the throne sat an old man who looked dumbfounded about something. The mans face was not clear but Shryo knew by the voice he heard when he was a child that it was his father. Was his father a king or an emporer? If so then why did he leav his mother and himself to fend for themselves. It made no sense to Shryo why his father just abandoned him and his mother like that. The view was turning to see what had made Shryo's father look in awe when a Banshee like squeal woke Shryo up from his dream and sleep. It had seemed that something had found him Shryo even though being safe had to move and move quickly or he would not be able to escape the island alive. He turned still having his Magic skill Holy Ankh powered up since he did not get to use it earlier casted it on the skreaming banshee. Now like a ghost or other undead creature the banshee fell to the ground and sunk into the earth. Shryo moved fast and finally reached a dark spot in the woods where he found..
Shryo - September 18, 2003 01:32 AM (GMT)
He found an army of the dark undead dragon. It was around thirty ghosts and twenty monsters. It seemed they had super sensitive hearing, but Shryo was being as quiet as hee possibly could around them. He saw they were gaurding the base of the mountain so no one got to the top of it where the city where the dragon lived. Shryo had to think of a way to get up there and defeat the dragon and save the good. Hac sat on the ground and wondered what he could do next. Their had to be a back way to the city and if not Shryo had to break through the monsters and quickly before more met up with the ones already there. He started walking east since he came from the west to search for an alternate route to the top of the mountain. He was halfway to the west side of the island when he heard a sound coming from behind him. He turned quickly seeing a fast moving object coming towards him at high speeds. His rod came up and started casting the spell Holy Ankh on the what he guessed was an enemy running through the beutiful grass which was knee high to the demon loooking monster. It suddenly stopped right beside Shryo. It blurted that it was time for his meddling to stop and that the demon would kill him now and do it quick. Shryo tuined towards the monster and relized it was not there in the spot it talked to him in. Shryo noticed the monster was now on the opposite side then what it originally was. Shryo knew that the monster was to quick for his eyes so he had to concentrate all his powers on the enemy that he was up against. Shryo noticed it had a humongus stench that could be smelled for miles and miles away. Shryo had never read or seen any of the monsters before or in any old text that he used to always read in the village where he used to live."Wait," Shryo shouted. He knew what this monster was. I was one of the fifteen ancient monsters of Cowel. Shryo could barely stand once he relized that he was outmatched or maybe thought he was outmatched for the battle against the monster. Shryo notices his rod glowing an eerie light. The light was the spell Holy Ankh that he had not used yet.
Shryo was scared to cast the spell because he did not know if it would make the monster stay still or would it be able to move and evade the attack. This monster looked like it could easily destroy Shryo in a single move. He held up his rod and used the spell Holy Ankh but the monster quickly was out of the way before Shryos words were finished coming out of his mouth. The smell of the dirty monster told Shryo where it was going. Shryo knew it wold end up behind him so as fast as he could Shryo jabbed his stick between his arm and his rib. The rod quickly stopped in the stomach of the ancient monster. Shryo knew that the monster would be stopped for a few minutes on the ground trying to regain its stregnth and also recover his breath. Shryo quickly stated the words for the Holy Ankh spell to help lessen this monsters stregnth and life. The spell was cast and the monster survived somehow, but was even more badly injured then when Shryo stabbed the ancient monster with his rod. Shryo was surprised the monster did not fall dead because he was used to all undead monsters dying after a direct Holy Ankh spell. The monster was up again and was behind Shryo with a sword drawn and ready to slash Shryo. It looked like the end of Shryo when this happened, but a strange thing happened. The monster struck Shryo, but it hit his arm instead of the cranium which would of killed or knocked out Shryo. It seemed the monster was not only ugly and stunk but it was also stupid. Quickly Shryo cast his Holy Ankh spell again while the monster was recovering from its fast running and the attack hit. The monster fell to its knees in pain. Shryo walked slowly and cautiously up to it. You ancient one should rest in piece for all eternity and never return to this realm again. Shryo slowly struck the head of the monster which fell dead lying on the ground dead. It seemed one of the fifteen monsters were dead. Shryo quickly moved westward to the other end of the island which he had not been.
Shryo - September 19, 2003 01:01 AM (GMT)
By nightfall Shryo made it to the other side of the island which looked deserted by all monsters and humans. Hurriedly Shryo walked to the end of the west side. He saw that there was no way to get to the top of the mountain from this side of the island so it looked like he would have to go back to the middle and fight the army of monsters which belonged to the undead monster which Shryo had to defeat. Rushing back to the middle, hugging the mountain line, of the island. It looked like Shryo had to sacrifice his body for the good that was being watched over at the top of the mountain. By daybreak of the next day Shryo made it back to where the undead monsters were who were gaurding the pathway the top. Shryo quickly started casting his Holy Ankh spell to use when he got up enough courage to go and face the monsters which were in front of him. One of the monsters spotted a light over by where Shryo was crouching and waiting to strike. Shryo finally relized the spell he had summoned was making his rod glow again and the zombie creature had spotted it. Shryo realized he could not hide any longer from the monsters so he quickly rolled out of the bush and casted his Holy Ankh spell on four of the undead monsters which weere in front of him. Shryo quickly counted. forty six more monsters to go, or maybe just one. If I can find and destroy the leader all the monsters under him will fall. He scouted the monsters for one that stuck out among the rest of them it seemed they all looked the same, so Shryo would kill a few off and see if a leader would come forward. While he was scouting the enemy bunch Shryo was casting the Holy Ankh spell again. It was cast quickly to keep enimies off Shryo. Four more enimies in the army fell. Shryo knew he could not keep this up forever because eventually Shryo would trip or the monsters would surround or catch up with him. Forty two enimies were rushing quickly at Shryo when he saw a bandana of sorts flying in the wind in the middle of the pack of monsters. Shryo stopped put his hood on and spoke to the monsters who stopped in their tracks. Shryo said," I would like to face the leader of your division in a duel here and now." The leader of the horde of monsters stepped forward. Hac was frightened by the evil emitting from the undead creature. It spoke and said," I am the last ancient monster of Cowel on this island because it seems you killed my brother." Shryo picked up his staff watching the monster carefully while the monster raised its spear. A tremendous duel was about to begin between a human and an ancient monster of Cowel, thought the very frightened Shryo who was trembleing.
It seemed the wind was in favor of the monster because it was blowing against Shryo's face. It seemed this monster was not as fast as the last one Shryo had faced, but the ancient monster of Cowel looked a lot smarter in tactical maneuvers. Shryo saw the long spear and knew the monster would most likely attack from long range, so that would mean hopefully the monster would not rush in and attack in the middle of a spell being casted. Shryo quickly started casting a spell, Holy Ankh. The spell was finally done but the opponet still had not moved, the match was a stalemate so far. Shryo and the monster were now ready to go. The monster still did not move from its spot. Shryo quickly moved towards the monster. The monster stood in a defencive position while Shryo was coming at him. Shryo finally go up to the monster and it jumped it the air. Shryo tried looking up in the air, but the sun was blocking his vision. He heard a sound like lightning came hurtling down from the sky. Shryo rolled out of the way as a crater formed under him as he was rolling. He got up and saw the monsters and its spear were the center point of the crater. Shryo was surprised that a weapon of that calibur could make a crater that big. Shryo quickly cast his Holy Ankh spell which hit the monster, but it seemed as if the monster was barely affected by the move. The monster made a smirk and said," I am more magic resistant than any of the other Ancient monsters of Cowel. Shryo now saw that this monster seemed unbeatable by his attacks of magic, so it looked like Shryo had to get offensive instead of defensive. Once Shryo was in close the spear would not fair to well, so Shryo had to get close enough to attack the monster. He quickly took his staff and rushed in, but the undead ancient monster jumped back in the air again. Shryo noticed how the attack was made last time so Shryo quickly moved to the side a little. He heard the sound of thunder again from the spear and holder hurdeling down. A flash of light struck the eye of Shryo and he knew the time was right to pary the attack. He put all his stregnth into the unbreakable rod and turned it sideways and thrusted his rod forward. It connected with the spear and threw the monster on its back while the spear was lying on the ground at Shryos feet. Shryo knew the monster had nothing to attack with but its sharp claws now. Shryo ran toward the downed monster, but relized the spear had struck his leg before he paried the blow. Shryo was now had a parylized leg and did not have a Holy Ankh spell ready to cast. Quicky though Shryo casted Holy Ankh on himself while the monster was still trying to recouperate from being thrown. Shryo was now fully healed and his leg was alright again. He rushed toward the enemy fused with fully restored energy. Shryo saw the monster getting up and slowly in another defensive position. Shryo knocked back the hands of the monster and struck it with his rod. All of a sudden another sound of thunder came from behind Shryo, and he knew the sound was the weapon of the ancient monster of Cowel. Shryo hurriedly ducked and laid on the ground. The spear came flying over his head and went through the stomach of the monster. The monster was gushing its remaining blood out of its stomach and mouth. The monster then stayed on the ground and did not move, it was dead. Also, it was killed by its own weapon. Shryo looked around him and saw the remaining monsters dropped dead and rested in peace once again. Shryo now had a straight path to the top of the mountain, and he was now ready to take on a dragon. He was not scared, but instead ready for anything that came his way.
Shryo - September 19, 2003 11:26 AM (GMT)
Shryo had just defeated two of the fifteen ancient monsters of Cowel and was ready to go face the evil undead dragon at the top of the mountain when he noticed he was falling to the ground and saw blood trickling down and turning his cloak red. It was like warm water flowing down the back and front of Shryo from the shoulder. Shryo saw he had a deep gash on his shoulder that was flowing out blood rapidly. Quickly Shryo reached for his staff and cast the Holy Ankh spell to heal all his wounds and destroy the pain and heat emitting from his shoulder. The blood kept rushing down the back almost tickeling Shryo while he was casting Holy Ankh. The spell was finally cast about the time Shryo started to get woozy and lightheaded. Now Shryo was going to investigate what was making him bleed, so he turned around and saw nothing or no one. He turned around back towards the mountain and saw on the tree in front of him the spear of the dead monster. Usually the sword would be destroyed or desintigrate once its undead master was dead all the way. Shryo knew the monster was dead so why did his spear not dissappear with him? Shryo noticed blood on the bottom side of the spear. The gash in Shryos arm must have been caused by that weapon in front of him. Shryo must not have dunked in time and he got struck by the weapon being summoned back to its master. Shryo now saw the power of that ancient monster did not come from its own stregnth, but instead from the power of the mighty weapon it weilded. Shryo knew he must destroy the weapon to get rid of the evil in it. Shryo went up to the weapon and picked it up and snapped it on his leg and watched it break into three pieces. Now that Shryo had destroyed more evil, he decided that it was time to go and defeat the evil dragon at the top of the mountain. Shryo then looked up at the mountain and saw no real path up the mountain just a small cut path where undead creatures were walking down to destroy Shryo.
Shryo - September 19, 2003 10:06 PM (GMT)
Shryo stood up and set off for the base of the mountain which was about eight hundred yards ahead of him. He scurried through the forest and quickly got out of it at the base of the path at the mountain. The path was not a clear cut path but Shryo could tell how to get to the top unharmed from any danger that could come his way. Step by Step Shryos legs ached even more from the painful and steep up hill on which he was walking. The ground was rough and his moccasins were falling apart strap by strap. Nightfall came quickly that day and Shryo was not even halfway up the mountain. Shryo knew that he must rest for the upcoming battle against the undead dragon like monster that was waiting for him at the top of the mountain. Shryo sat down and made a fire. He then dozed off into a light sleep.
All of a sudden a ear piercing screech woke Shryo up from his sleep. He looked up and saw two ghostly banshees above him. Scattrering to get up Shryo grabbed his rod and summoned the spell Holy Ankh against the ghostly looking enemy banshees. The banshees quickly fell and sank into the ground. Shryo knew he had to get up because it was only a matter of time before more enemies would catch up or find him. Shryo knew that this climb would be very tough without all the rest he should of had. Shryo gathered all his belongings and started the climbing with his a aching legs and feet. A few steps fprward Shryo trips over somthing on the ground. It seemed there was a staircase leading to the top of the mountain where the dragon and city were. Shryo got on the stairs and walked around and around as the stairs winded upward. In about another half a day Shryo reached the top of the mountain and looked at the city which was laid in ruins.
Shryo went and looked around the part of the isle where the city was with his wand raised ready to cast his Holy Ankh spell at any moment the undead dragon should appear out of nowhere. Shryo suddenly got to the middle of town and saw one single building still standing, the monestary of the old town. A sudden roar came from behind Shryo along with a tremendous thud like noice. He slowly looked behind him and saw a humongus dragon with some flesh on it like a zombie. Shryo knew this would be the final battle on this island, and he was ready for it. Shryo quickly held up his rod and cast his Holy Ankh spell that he had ready to use for a long time. The spell was cast right at the dragon and the battle began.
Shryos spell was cast right at the undead dragon and it hit it just as planned. Shryo could see the monster had weekened, but it would take a few more Holy Ankhs to destroy the undead bloody monster which was standing right in front of him. Shryo quickly moved to the side as he saaw the dragon flying at him with its sharp talons extended towards Shryo. Shryo quickly doded the attack but not before his arm was clawed by the talons. Shryo got up as fast as he could and casted his Holy Ankh spell again while the dragon was coming back for another try to hit Shryo. The monster was struck to the ground with the spell cast from Shryos rod. The wings of the creature mysteriously disappeared. Now it had only four legs, a tail, and a head. Shryo saw that this creature had many different forms and each was weaker than the one before it. Shryo quickly rolled out of the way while the dragon stampeded toward Shryo. The monster ran by, but then Shryo could not move his leg and some how it seemed the monster had ran over it when it was stampeding towards him. Shryo hurriedly cast Holy Ankh on himself to heal his leg rhen he quickly got up and rolled out of the way of the monster that was still stampedeing towards him. Again Shryo casted Holy Ankh on the enemy and he saw as the spell hit the enemy that two of its legs slowly disappeared and another transformation was beggining. The monsters body went upright and now it looked like a gigantic dinosaur which was running with its mouth wide open ready to eat anything in its way, namely Shryo. Shryo quickly moved out of the way since the monster was very slow, and once he dodged the monster again he used Holy Anch which this time destroyed the tail of the undead dragon like dinosaur creature. Another transformation of the monster began once the its tail was destroyed. The monster now looked like a bug with only two legs, so Sryo cast another Holy Ankh spell to destroy the legs of the monster. The monster quickly changed into a rolling enemy sense it only had a head and a body. The enemy rolled down the road at high speeds trying to run over and destroy Shryo. Shryo quickly jumped out of the way and stuck his rod out in the path of the rolling enemy. The enemys head and body split in two and all that was left was the head because the body sank into the ground. The head was the only think left so Shryo took his rod up to the head and smashed the head in so the monster would nevr bother anyone again. Shryo healed himself with the Holy Ankh skill and then stepped in the monestary.
Shryo walked in the monestary and saw a cage with a young woman in it. Shryo quickly walked up to the cage and unlocked it. The girl was unconiouss so Shryo picked her up and cated a Holy Ankh spell on her which adressed all he wounds. An hour later the woman woke up and she looked strangely a Shryo."Did you rescue me," she asked. Yes I did answered Shryo. The girl quickly pointed to a trap door under the rug leading up to a podeom. She then said," Under there are my peole please realease them young warrior." Shryo listened to the young girl and opened up the door. Under it were over a hundred people all staring up and monst closing there eyes because they had not seen the sun in a few months. The young girl explained that she was a young priestess and the dragon imprisoned her after she accidently realeased it from its two-thousand year lock up. Shryo asked if he could have a ride back to the mainland since his ship was destroyed on the way here. The priestess agreed and the best sailors in the village built a boat and carried Shryo back to the mainland.
