Title: All's Still And Quiet...

AthelVanya - August 31, 2003 11:07 PM (GMT)
Athel walks silently into the tavern, her white robe flowing behind her as she glides over to a secluded table and sits down. She glances around, noting the lack of people except for the bartender.
I wonder where everyone is... she muses to herself as she pulls a scroll from her sleeve. With one last glance around, she commences reading.

Azhure - September 5, 2003 02:53 AM (GMT)
Azhure slowly walks into the tavern, careful not to attract any attention. She noticed three Clerics in sight and relaxed a little at the quiet room. She sat not too far from Kaya but she did not order anything. She greets Kaya and over analyzes the counter top after assuming the cleric does not want to be disturbed.

She places her elbows along the surface of the bar, leaning over her wrists as she contemplates.

Durin - September 4, 2003 03:26 AM (GMT)
Durin entered the tavern and looked around, he found very little with the amount of people a tavern should have at the time of night. He noticed the only other person besides the bartender was an elf with white hair, doning a robe in the same color. Unlike his other clan members, the other races didn't bother him and being odd that he was, he enjoyed most of them and they're company. He ordered himself a pint of ale and found a comfortable stool, only glancing once more around the tavern before downing most of his ale.

Kaya Kunami - September 4, 2003 03:56 AM (GMT)
She walked silently along the street, her whitish blue eyes narrowed as she observed her surroundings. Her white hood covered most of her face , but bits of moonlight caught her dark complexion and caused the skin to shimmer slightly. Her eyes then caught sight of a tavern. She did find herself to be quite thirsty and hungry as well, so she decided to make a little pit stop for a little while to waste some time. She moved her Red wand from her right hand to her left, gripping it easily as she walked over to the building and opened the door. She smiled slightly, although it couldn't really be seen thanks to the hood of her white robe. She lifted her head slightly to look around, most of her face still in shadow, although her sparkling orbs could be seen from beneath the hood. She nodded to the other customers and walked gracefully to the bar. She sat a few seats away from Durin and nodded to the Bartender as he walked over to her and asked her if she wanted anything.

I will take a pint of ale please...

She said in almost a whisper. The bartender nodded and retrieved her order quickly. As he placed the tall glass infront of her, she smiled and nodded to him. She then pulled back the hood which hid her face. She revealed to everyone a dark elf which long white hair that was tied back with a leather string. A few strands of the ivory locks was in her face, but she didn't seem to mind. Kaya picked up the glass with a delicate hand and drank the liquid within, leaving it about half full for a moment. She looked around to the others in the tavern, noticing there wasn't many customers. She went back to drinking her ale

Kaya Kunami - September 5, 2003 03:20 AM (GMT)
She looked to the woman that entered and smiled for a moment as she takes a gulp of her ale. She yawned slightly and then watched her sit down nearby. As this woman greeted her, she nodded and wiped her mouth, speaking in a low voice

Good evening miss.

She noticed that this woman was a Cleric as well, except a human. she looked her over for a moment before returning to her ale. She rested her head on the her arm, which she brought upon the bar. Her white hair falls over her shoulders, and down against the stool she sat upon. She much fatigue, but planned on staying out for at least another hour or so before returning to her sleeping quarters. She yawned slightly as she sat back up and downed the rest of her ale.

(No inspiration at all. -sulks-)

Azhure - September 6, 2003 01:23 AM (GMT)
Being extremely lonely and bored, Azhure gets up and migrates to a corner of the room. Thought the quietness of the room proved to be quite boring, she was at least thankful that she could move into solitude at one point of another. At this point, mingling is not to her favor and continues to slouch in the corner until someone decides to approach her.

HellsAdvocate - September 9, 2003 10:52 PM (GMT)
nataS, one of the few dwarf regulars in the tavern, walked up to the bar and asked for a pint of ale. Promptly, the bar keep hustled around behind the bar and produced a large mug of frothy ale. Sipping his alcohol, the dwarf contemplates it's bitter taste. Liking his parched lips, he retreats to a table near the corner. A shady figure stands in the corner, not to far from the table he sat at. Taking a closer look at the figure in the shadows, he sees that the figure is actualy a woman. "Why don't you take a seat lass?" asks the dwarf of the woman. The woman looks at the stout dwarf and takes a seat at the table.

Azhure - September 10, 2003 02:19 AM (GMT)
After a few seconds of meditation, Azhure slowly raises her head just enough to see the dwarf. She smiles warmly and takes a seat at the table he has occupied. Azhure watched the small dwarf drink his pint of ale, keeping her warm smile for just a few more moments. After confirming her thoughts, she took off the hood that had been hiding her face throughout the entire time at the pub. She brushes the loose strands of hair away from her face and placed her hands on the table, twiddling her thumbs.

"So, how are you this fine evening Dwarf?" she said after letting him finish a swallow. She stopped her twiddling and put one of her elbows on the table so she could lean on a fist with her head.

AthelVanya - September 10, 2003 07:04 PM (GMT)
Athel sighs lightly, tucks the scroll in her sleeve and glances around the room. Surprised, she notes that three beings had enetered the room while she was engrossed in her reading. She eyes the Dwarf and the human girl, bits and pieces of their quiet conversation drifting to Athel's alert ears.
Keeping her hood low over her face, Athel twiddles absent-mindedly with a stray strand of her silky white hair.

HellsAdvocate - September 10, 2003 09:22 PM (GMT)
"I'd say about standard-and-a-half." was the dwarfs reply to the young womans question. "Looks like the weathers been worsening here recently." he says, nodding towards the window. When he had gotten there, it had been sprinkling lightly, and now it had turned into a heavy rain. The girl nodded silently as the dwarf continued his conversation. "So what brings the likes of you here? Business? Or is it Personal?" asked the slightly inebriated dwarf.

Azhure - September 10, 2003 11:20 PM (GMT)
"Looks like the weathers been worsening here recently," the dwarf said, indicating the cold weather through the window. Azhure did not look at the direction he nodded, instead she turned her head to see the cleric, Athel, noticing them. The sound of rain tapping against the window was enough for her to know how bad it was, so she looked at Athel long enough to make eye contact. She smiled at the cleric and, with an inviting smile, sent a vibe to Athel to join them.

"Partly for business, mostly wandering around," she said while turning back.

HellsAdvocate - September 10, 2003 11:50 PM (GMT)
"Partly for business, mostly wandering around," she said. She had turned away to look at another woman in the tavern, then looked back. Not paying much attention to it, he just continued with his ale, staring at the froth in the beverage, he got lost in thought, about nothing and everything, thinking about passed friends and lost battles.

AthelVanya - September 11, 2003 10:42 PM (GMT)
Seeing the nod of the cleric she recognized as Azhure, Athel twiddled more with her silky white locks beneath her hood. She was torn. She was determined that she would never make friends again, but she didn't want to be rude.
She sighed and shook her head. No, she would not go. It was too much of a risk. Sinking lower in her seat, she signaled for the bartender to bring her an ale.

Azhure - September 12, 2003 01:08 AM (GMT)
Before turning back to nataS, Azhure received an unfortunate rejection from Athel. She raised her eyebrows in slight astonishment and gave up on trying to invite her into the conversation.

"What brings you here?" she asked.

AthelVanya - September 12, 2003 03:42 AM (GMT)
Athel's soft lips turned down in a slight frown as she noted Azhure's reaction.
No two people can be happy at once, she thought. If I'm to be happy, then others will be dissapointed, and if I am to make others happy, I will die in the sorrow of loss.
Athel fingered the grains of wood of her staff. Life seems to be full of dissapointment and regret. I have seen nothing else in all my years of life...which are beyond count it seems to me now.
She watched the human cleric as she conversed with the dwarf. She has no idea how immortality feels. I've never believed it a gift, only a curse. Friends are lost, consorts fade away. Love is only a dream... She sighed as that thought drifted across her conscious.
Only a dream....

HellsAdvocate - September 12, 2003 02:05 PM (GMT)
"What brings you here?" asked the girl. Snapping back from his thoughts, he replies, "Just drowning my sorrows in ale"

Azhure - September 14, 2003 06:58 AM (GMT)
"Obviously," she said, watching the smelling substance drip down his mug and finally drip onto the table. Azhure blinked in boredom and remained silent until something else sparked the interest of the conversation.

. . .

The gulping and dripping follow through to Azhure's ears as the conversation get increasingly boring.

. . .

"Well, there's certainly nothing to talk about," she sighs and droops down into her chair. She turns her head to watch the people in the tavern.

Harufu-Erubishi - September 16, 2003 02:29 AM (GMT)
After weeks on the sea, Haru was glad to finally be on land once again. Standing at the entrance of the tavern, he began to look around to see who else was finding haven way from the rain. Also Haru continued to draw his clock over another, shielding the person from their rainy walk. Finally finding a spot to sit and relax, the two take their sit and wait for the rain to pass.

"Thankfully we were able to find this tavern. We shall wait until the rain eases up." Taking off the clock of the second figure, it was reviled to everyone else that the second figure was a women. Unseen by anyone else in the tavern, Haru held onto his companion's hand under the table.

"I guess after the sea trip it was to be expected that we would only find more water." The female responded also looking around to see who else was in here. Turning to Haru, she had a warm smile on her face that brought a moment of joy to him.

"Thanks allot Nienna." Letting his clock to dry on the back of his chair, Haru pulled out one of the strange coins thrown to him by the island. That is or what ever was on the island that had followed him. One thing Haru hope to see was the appearance of his once companions, but even here there was not such luck...

AthelVanya - September 17, 2003 10:43 PM (GMT)
Athel watched as a male elf entered the tavern with someone at his side. She sighed as the two sat together. She pulled her hood low over her face as she noted the obvious love between the two.
She sighed with frustration as unwanted memories began to rise to her consciousness and a hot tear rolled down her cheek. I wanted to forget you... she whispered fiercely to her memories. Must you haunt me forever?
Slowly, an image of someone began to rise into her mind. It was an elf, broad in stature, tall, and quite handsome with dark features and black hair that fell to his shoulders. He was clad in all black...and he was smiling.
Frustrated, Athel slammed her fist into the table, her mug of ale tilting and then falling to the floor.

Azhure - September 17, 2003 10:56 PM (GMT)
After the dwarf was half way through his pint of ale, the human cleric suddenly gets out of her seat and slumps over her chair as if she were a coat. She gently tipped the chair back and forth and looked at the dwarf.

. . .

"So Dwarf, have you any plans where to go after you enjoy your loitering? I certainly do not... I think I will stay in this quiet place until they kick me out for whatever reason. More customers seem to be joining us though, I fear the noise will gradually ri--" Azhure had been cut off by the loud sound of Athel's mighty fist and the clanging of her mug as it hit the floor. She was surprised by this sudden action from the elf - who had seemed to be perfectly fine contemplating by herself - that her chair tipped back too much and fell. Azhure managed to save herself from her foolish habit by leaning over the table. She raised an eyebrow as she noticed a frustrated elf.

She turned her head back to the dwarf, expecting an answer despite the fact that she had been interrupted.

Harufu-Erubishi - September 17, 2003 11:51 PM (GMT)
(OOC: This ties in with "A Forgotten Past..." hope this works out the way I thought.)

Outside the rain was not stopping. The sounds of the rain drops echoed though out the town with each second. A clocked figure began walking back and forth in front of the local tavern, deciding to go in or not. Still outside of the tavern, it seemed that the figure could not completely make up his mind. Finally making up his mind the figure walks into the tavern and starts to take a look around to see who was currently here. For the most part there wasn't anyone he could remember but he continued to walk to find a seat.

Hearing someone slam their fist into the bar, the figure did not concern himself with it. The only though that ran though the figure's mind was someone must have been angry at something. Removing his clock showed that he was not like anyone else in the tavern. The figure found a seat at the bar and soon sat down. Looking at the bartender and pulling out some gold, the figure ordered a drink and that was about it. He had dark red eyes and continued to look around as if wanting to find someone. That was until he looked at two other in the corner. Something in his mind began to smile as he looked at the male figure. A small smile crossed his face as he returned to his drink as it was placed in front of him.

With a soft voice, the figure whispered something to himself as the smile continued to be on his face.

"So Haru, now we will see if you are able to leave me again before our final fight..."

AthelVanya - September 18, 2003 02:44 AM (GMT)
Athel flushed with embarrassment and hurridly picked up her spilled ale. She waved off the bar tender as he attempted to run over and clean up the mess.
"Thank you, sir, but I can clean up my own stupidity," she told him quietly. He nodded and scurried off.
Athel glanced around at the surprised looks of the other patrons and her already pink cheeks reddened even more.
"Pardon me..." she whispered and then bolted from the tavern, her white cloak trailing behind her.
She rushed outside and collapsed against the wall near the door, her breath coming short.

Harufu-Erubishi - September 18, 2003 03:40 AM (GMT)
Seeing the female next to him get up and leave caused the figure to lose his smile. There was too much going through his mind at the moment but found a little humor in what had just occurred. Finishing his drink, the figure got up and made his way to the door to see if the women was all right. Reaching the door the figure looked towards Haru and his companion but decided that it would just have to wait.

Leaving the tavern, the figure looked around to see where the woman had gone. Looking around, he was finally able to see where she had gone. Walking closer to the woman, the figure bowed before her and started to introduce himself.

"I am sorry about this but it seems that you may want someone to talk to. I may not know much of life, but I can see when someone is troubled by the heart. Sorry for my rudeness, I am Damous. It is a pleasure to met you..."

AthelVanya - September 18, 2003 03:52 AM (GMT)
Athel looked with surprise at the figure that approached her and introduced himself. People rarely bothered to talk to her...
"I am sorry about this but it seems that you may want someone to talk to. I may not know much of life, but I can see when someone is troubled by the heart. Sorry for my rudeness, I am Damous. It is a pleasure to meet you..." he said.
She pushed her hood back in order to study him closely, and in doing so she revealed her delicately cut facial features, ivory skin, bright violet eyes, and silky white hair.
"I am Athel Vanya," she responded, her voice soft and obviously still embarrassed. "I rarely need anyone to talk to, but I appreciate your concern."
She pulled her cloak tightly around her slim figure to shield it from the wind, for her scant clothing wasn't much protection from the cold.

Harufu-Erubishi - September 18, 2003 04:42 AM (GMT)
Looking at the woman who now has introduced herself as Athel Vanya, Damous felt that there was something wrong but also understood that she alone would have to face that problem. For now he would have his own fights to go through and could see why she would too want to do it alone.

"I am sorry for disturbing you." Continuing to look at the young woman, Damous finally decides to take of his clock and offer it to Athel. All Damous could think of was that he had no real use of it and soon there would be no reason to feel anything anymore.

"I know this is not much but it does seem that you can make better use of this than I can." Extending his clock and placing it next to Athel, Damous takes a quick look through the window to see that Haru is still asleep. The same smile crossed his face as he turned to leave Athel to her thoughts. Holding onto a lance, Damous makes his way back into the tavern to finally confront Haru and finish what was started long ago...

AthelVanya - September 19, 2003 02:35 AM (GMT)
Athel accepted the cloak silently and then watched as the man re-entered the tavern.
"Thank you," she whispered and set it over her shoulders. She settled back against the wall and turned her eyes to the stars, her face in an expression of nostalgia.

HellsAdvocate - September 19, 2003 03:47 PM (GMT)
Watching as the figures reentered the tavern, the dwarf snapped back to his conversastion.
"A sound plan you have, but I think that I shall be on my way after another pint or two." said nataS, replying to the clerics question. Tipping his mug back, he quickly finished off the remainder of his ale, and shouted for another pint. The barkeeper, who had become rather busy with all the other patrons, scampered behind the counter, and returned with the dwarfs order. "Thank you good keeper" he says as he pays the man for the drink. "You know what?" not giving the girl any time to respond, he continues with his thoughts aloud, "I haven't gotten your name yet, and I dont think I've given you mine either. The names nataS, and I am pretty much muscle for hire, freelancer if you will." Thinking to himself, he also realizes that he doesn't know what she does... "You're a cleric yes? What exactly do you do?" he asks.

Azhure - September 20, 2003 01:29 AM (GMT)
"I haven't gotten your name yet, and I don't think I've given you mine either," Azhure looked at the dwarf in interest, "The names nataS, and I am pretty much muscle for hire, freelancer if you will." Azhure didn't respond to this but nodded to show that she understood. "You're a cleric, yes? What exactly do you do?" The dwarf, now known as nataS, looked on to press for an answer.

"My name is Azhure--I..I am a cleric. I decided to become one after my family died and I couldn't find a place with any of the villagers. My past is stained and I cannot judge the commoners with just due to my experiences-- Oh excuse me for my nonsense," she blushes momentarily, showing for once the fragile expression painted on her face, "I am just here to protect myself and others that I may care for. If there is a request of some sort that requires my aid, I'll be off doing that. In other words, I'm almost like a bounty hunter, only I don't..hunt."

Azhure shudders at the thought and attempts to disremember the past that she had abandoned approximately seven years ago. She put her hood back on, feeling too delicate inside.

HellsAdvocate - September 21, 2003 12:17 AM (GMT)
Sensing that he had dug up some of the girls unwanted memories, he decided to leave the girl with her memories. "I guess I shall be leaving." he says in as gentle of a voice as the dwarf could go, "I don't want ta dig up any more bad memories." Azhure's aknowledgement was barely even noticable under her hood. Standing up, the scruffy dwarf grabbed his mugs and sat them down on the bar, and exited the tavern. The rain had died down, leaving only a light fog, and the night had started to change to day, the sun rising lethargicly over the horizon to banish the fog. nataS quickly walked to the town square to check the board for any news or tasks to be completed, not expecting to find anything new, he was supprised to spot an expedition was soon to be underway.

Azhure - September 25, 2003 12:12 AM (GMT)
Even though the cleric had taken a liking to nataS, her pain-filled eyes remained unsettled. She was relieved that she had covered her face with the hood on time, otherwise nataS would have surely noticed the tears that were secretly shedding. NataS decided to leave, and Azhure would have wanted very well to give her final adieu but she felt too ashamed of herself to look at him. Instead, she looked straight ahead until she heard the already familiar creak of the tavern's entrance. It was only then that she decided to relax her shoulders and turn her head towards the door.

She fixed her chair and sat back down to contemplate. At least it's less crowded now, she thinks after heaving a big sigh and smiling.

Harufu-Erubishi - October 9, 2003 06:29 PM (GMT)
Walking through the doors of the tavern, Damous say that not many people were left. Thinking to himself, he also noticed that Haru was finally waking from his sleep. Not really caring at the moment, Damous just walks to the bar and begins to order a drink. Turning slightly seeing that Haru and his companion where now leaving, Damous decides to give him something to think about.

“Run all you want Harufu. One day you will find you end by my own hands and no one else.”

Turning back to his drink, he knew that Haru would not be able to recognize him just yet but he was given something to think about. All Damous knew was that no matter what happened he would keep his promise and makes sure that Harufu pays for his what his did.

“Don’t worry Harufu, no one will kill you until I can. And I will...”

Finishing his drink Damous begins to order another one planning on what he will soon do to get his revenge. But so far only time will tell...

Azhure - October 21, 2003 11:01 PM (GMT)
The hooded girl loses the interest of socializing and silently leaves the tavern.

The smell of alcohol seems to disgust me after a while. Of course, I guess the only way to drain the overwhelming smell is to get drunk yourself.

Azhure takes a step out of the tavern and ponders her destination while the wind captures her breath away.
