Balloons flutter up in to the darkened skies of Carmina Gadelica, the Cultural City nested on the edge of a digital sea where the sun never shines. Two spotlights clack on and begin their man-made figure-eight paths in the sky. At the source of the light is a large, white building made of stone that looks like it was stolen right off the streets of New York City during the 1800s. It was a tall building with a shallow, tiered roof and greek-style columns at the front supporting a high awning of stone and the roof above. On the crossbeam at the peak of the pillars a series of words were etched in to the rock: "United Bank of Divergence: Carmina Gadelica".

Between the two center columns with vertical corregation was a pair of enormous oak doors that had been detailed and varnished with exaggerated knobs and deadbolts to lock the doors. Though this was mostly for show. Within the design on the doors two normal-sized doors had been inserted with a regular knob for customer entrance and exiting. Across the bottom of the real doors were polished brass plates in case customers kicked the doors on accident with their feet, the plate would take the hit, not the delicate coating on the doors themselves.

Past the pillars on the opposite side of the doors was a wide staircase that leads down to ground-level with the rest of the city. In front of the stairs is a grand stage wedged between the spotlights. At the center of the stage is a podium with a series of microphones and bulletproof glass plates set up on either side to prevent an assassination attempt. To the podium's right, a viewer's left, were four chairs. The leftmost chair was occupied by Victor, beside him sat Lighteria. Aside Lighteria sat Retn, and Ernst, Victor's cousin, was sitting beside him.

A barrage of camera flashes exploded at the podium, lighting up the night as an entourage of suited players, some armed and some not, walked up the rightmost stairs to the stage, opposite where Lighteria, Retn, and their guards sat.

Six of the entourage sat down in six vacant seats on that side of the stage while the other four stood at the back center of the stage. There was one more person. A winged player with red hair and a black suit with a raspberry colored business shirt on beneath the black blazer coat. His brown hair was hanging down over his face without the inhibition of his usual bandana. Due to this his bangs covered his right eye. The player approached the podium and stood there patiently smiling as flash bulbs from cameras snapped and shot off, filling the air with clicks and clacks when the light coils rapidly heated up then cooled off.

Once the audience settled the player at the podium cleared his throat, taking a final glance to Lighteria and Retn for reassurance. Both players gave a slight affirmative nod to the podium holder. He then turned his attention back to the audience and inhaled a small breath before beginning his speech.

"Welcome one and all! I'm sure you've all unknowingly awaited this day just as much as I have! After much deliberation the owners of the United Bank of Divergence have granted me, Wren, permission to open its newest branch here in the wonderful city of light: Carmina Gadelica. All functions of this new bank will be the same as the original branch in Mac Anu, except for I will be funding and supporting this new bank. I would like to introduce Ernst, Victor's cousin, who will be acting as customer security for the Carmina Gadelica branch of the bank." Ernst stood up and took a small bow when Wren motioned to the four seats to his right. "I'm very excited to be here supporting another branch of the United Bank of Divergence. As I'm sure many of you are aware the current system has a restricted number of accounts, the opening of this new branch will facilitate another set of accounts for players who wish to open one."

Wren paused and took a deep breath and a small drink of water from a glass set on the podium.

"Now, the reason for this new branch instead of just a rennovation of the previous branch is that the employees at the current branch in Mac Anu are very busy maintaining the 25 accounts held there, and to put any more strain on them could only lead to problems with the bank system itself. Retn and I have discussed some ideas and policies this evening and there may be changes made to both branches of the bank in the coming days. But rest assured, all who wish to open an account with the United Bank of Divergence will be able to! That is our goal."

There was a brief pause as Wren looked to Retn and Lighteria who only looked back with incredulity.

"Now, without further adieu," Wren picked up a large pair of scissors on a shelf inside the podium and held them up, "I give to you the United Bank of Divergence Carmina Gadelica Branch!" Wren then leapt over the back of the stage behind the guards and a projector set up in the middle of the crowd activated, displaying what a video camera beneath the stage aimed at the bank was seeing. The projector displayed Wren running up the stairs to a large red ribbon tied across the two main pillars that stood on either side of the doorways. Then he held up the scissors proudly and cut the ribbon in half, signaling the beginning of operations for the bank.

Camera flashes once again began to go off and the suited players sitting on the right side of the stage stood up and went up the steps to the bank and inside to take their positions as loan clerks and tellers. Retn and Lighteria nodded in approval and stood up along with Victor. Ernst stood up as well and shook hands with his cousin before heading down the stage and in to the bank. Gradually the crowd dispersed, some went in to the bank, others went elsewhere. But one thing was certain: a new bank had opened.

The city of Carmina Gadelica. A strange city, she thought it, trekking through the darkness, her soft smile hidden in the shadows which were so prevalent, her apparent lack of direction leading her to take a long, winding path through the seldom used and near noiseless backways and alleys of the barely lit city. If one had seen the traveller moving through the little known paths of the gigantic system of valleys, as if gigantic stones blocking out the sun, she might have seemed furtive, a secret messenger on some errand unknown and sinister until the watcher approached. But if he would care to approach, to accost her or to simply see her business, then she would have turned from a sinister herald of unknowns into a lost girl, wandering in search of solace unprovided by silence and darkness, strange as that is.

For a second, she paused, holding her step, and from off in the distance came sound, a faint clapping, cheering, the sounds of celebration. Sound came to her, sound so strange, so foreign to her ears, so unheard of that the hearing of it was as an eclipse of the mind, shifting thoughts from their desired course to that of a questioning course, drawing attention as a siren's song. A moment of complete, utter silence, complete, utter stillness, and then a smile graced her face, her mind awoke, and her step resumed, this time with a purpose.

However, it was not that easy, for she found herself lost. No, not lost, really, for she had never known the twists, the turns of the city enough to properly call her state lost, but in any case, she was at a loss for where to turn. The sound was gone, the indicator which might have lead her to the source of the revelry, so she did the most sensible thing she could think of to find the source of the commotion.

She logged out. The streets little tread of the city shrouded in darkness were silent once again.

When she emerged, entered The World, there was not silence, but bustle, sounds of life and work, people rushing from here to there with some purpose in their mind, some destinatin clearly cut, probably, she thought, something to do with the celebration. She accosted a businesslike Heavy Axeman, greeting him with a smile and a question, and then he was gone after leaving the answer, in as great a hurry as possible while still appearing polite.

"A bank?" she asked, out loud. "Really..."

She smiled. "I think I'll visit the bank, then."

It was H4X0R's first time to Carmina Gadelica, let alone out of the Delta Server. He had heard that a new branch of the bank that was present in Mac Anu had opened, and was determined to check it out. He knew that he wouldn't be able to quest there, as it was only for some of the highest level players, and it was off limits to the low levelers like himself. So, he started looking around the Cultural City.

It doesn't seem very cultural to me...It seems more like something you would find at a Renaissance fair... It was true, the sky was dark and starry, compared to the ever-noon sky of Mac Anu. Suddenly, a shape caught his eye. It was a baloon, and it came from near the area where the Magic Shop was. So, he decided to take a nice stroll over there, noting the cobblestones as he tread on them.

He finally spotted it, a little ways away from the Magic Shop. It was a large skyscraper-like building, with the words "United Bank of Divergence: Carmina Gadelica" printed on a slab on the front of it. Without hesitation, he walked in. There were crowds everywhere I hope they don't run out of accounts before I get one, that would be my luck... He had tried to get an account in Mac Anu, but the bank clerk had said, "Sorry, we have no accounts left. Why don't you go check out the Carmina Gadelica branch, I hear that they are opening today." So, without hesitation, he ran over to the chaos gate, and spoke the seldomly used words, "Change Server." He said, and changed it to the Ë server, and felt the transitory warp. This was when the Blademaster had first stepped on the cobblestones of the Cultural City.

Back to the present, he walked into the bank, and noticed the people. He saw that they were all gathered around a central area. Must be where all of the accounts are opened... Suddenly, a Projector screen popped up, and it showed a picture of a man with brown hair and wings running up a flight of stairs, with a pretty wicked pair of scissors in his hand. H4X0R remembered the one things that the teachers had taught him, never to run with scissors, point up, incase you tripped and fell, and poked your eye out with them. If he trips with those scissors, his eye won't be the only thing that gets poked out! He also has wings, but I don't think that he belongs to the Figment Raiders... Oh well, if he's here, he must have gotten them legally. The Blademaster thought as he wrapped his wing around his front right shoulder. This was an easy way to induce notice of his hack, and it kept him nice and warm too.

H4X0R watched as he saw the player reach his destination, a giant red ribbon tied between two pillars. He then realized what the scissors were for: this was the grand opening of the bank! No wonder there are so many people here. People always flock to the scene of an event like this. He doubted that any of the people who were here would really open up an account, today at least. Suddenly, everyone becaume quiet as the winged player raised parted the scissors and put them into place. Snip! went the scissors, the crowd went wild. Everyone was yelling, baloons went flying, and the chaotic noise was hurting H4X0R's ears. So, he decided to walk back out of the bank; the accoustics of the bank were good, weather that was intentional or unintentional, but the resonance from the people who were partying was great. And while he enjoyed chaos, he didn't want to be pushed and shoved as the mass amounts of players ran out. So, he took a seat near one of the marble pillars outside of the bank.

It is times like these when you notice the beautiful things about a city, the night-time sky keeping the city quiet and peaceful, unlike Mac Anu. I'll have to come here more often, when I want to relax. This sure has been a hectic little visit. Suddenly, he felt the pillar shaking. his first thought was, EARTHQUAKE!!! but he remembered that there weren't any earthquakes in the root towns. Then, he remembered the large amount of people inside. They are all leaving now... He thought as he watched the large crowd run out of the bank doors. He waited until the last couple players left the building before he made his entrance.

He walked into the now-empty bank, noticing the white marble that was on the floor. Somehow, it was still spotless, despite all of the people who were just occupying the room. Either it was programmed to stay spotless, or that janitor does one helluva job. He thought as he marveled at how silent it was inside, compared to the chaos of a few minutes previous. He listened to the tapping sound that his boots made as he walked toward one of the many windows that housed the clerks. "I'd like to start an account with 400 gp. Put it under the name of H4X0R... Thanks." He said as slid the GP under the window, and recieved his Reciept of Transaction. He walked out, and listened to the beat his shoes made as he walked out. I wonder how long I am allowed to stay in this server before I have to leave? He thought as he walked toward the sea area and sat down, his legs hanging over the edge.

"Ya I just got the flash mail" Isato talked amongst the other players as he waited in line to the bank till. His eye brows went bezerk as he remembered exactly how much money
two of his friends have. Seeing Lighty help open a second chain in banks with retn was unexpect due to the high demand and never closed accounts of others in Mac Anu. "Lighty" Isato said angerily as he remembered his card duel with the very effemente male. Those two made over eighty thousand gold within a couple of weeks due to the card game. Maybe in time Isato would be able to become as rich a player as Lighty and Savior in due time. "All I got to do is play my cards right." He said as he looked up to the ceiling. THe bank teller called next.

" Names Isato Kaiza, I will be opening an account today with 15,000 gp." He smiled as a clerk collected the small amount of gold he was depositing

Just to clarify to the lot of you who've simply said "I'm in." In order to set up an account you need to deposit an ammount of money. It's not 1000 minimum. Just put in something. 100 would work fine if that's all you have.

But keep in mind: you only get interest on 800 of it (meaning you only get 8GP a week). This may be subject to change, but it hasn't yet. So please state you're depositing "x" amount of GP (similar to what Ashura and H4x have done) and I will open your account. ^_^
