Powered by Cases Ladder through MyLeague.com, the ladder will be an excellent way to keep track of duelists' records, skill ratings, and even provide what MANY of you were longing for-- rewards for doing well in duels! Keep in mind that you do not have to sign up for the ladder to duel-- but if you wish to reap the rewards that come from being on the ladder and being successful, you must sign up!

Since some people signing up for the ladder already have a record, we have devised a system that is as fair for both gamers who have done well with their records thus far, and gamers who have not done as well, but wish to still remain in contention to bust into the top 10 and even top 5!

The initial rankings on the ladder will all be completely based on skill rating, but after that, the rank you hold on the ladder will have nothing to do with your skill rating.

Initial Ladder Ranking based on Skill Rating



Basic Rules of Ranking:

When you defeat someone, you will move up in rank half the distance between your rank and your opponent's rank.

If you beat the person directly above you, you will swap places with that person.

If you defeat someone with a higher level than you, you will receive two extra skill rating points for every level they are above you in addition to the points given to you by the ladder for the win.

People in the top 10 must start and finish a duel at least once every 21 days so as to prevent them from pigeonholding their spots. Any top 10 player who does not have a duel reported in 21 days will automatically drop 5 ladder spots without reparation!

To sign up for the league, simply go to www.myleague.com/diverge and click "Free Signup" in the top left corner. Your ladder name should be the same name you use here on Divergence.

If you already have a record, follow these steps after signing up.

1) PM Tokki with your record.
2) Signify how many of those wins are from tournaments, and how many losses.
3) Signify any streaks that were longer than 3 wins.
4) Name any people in the top 10 that you defeated or lost to.
5) Signify whether or not you WON a tournament.
6) Leave out ties or group duel information.

If your existing win percentage is below .500, you may begin on the ladder as 0-0. This way, your skill rating will be at 1500, instead of below as it would be with a record with more losses than wins! This is completely up to you!

Any rewards that will be in tangent with success on the ladder will be determined by your Admins! Have fun on the ladder, and good luck in climbing those rungs!

Quick question. What rewards are actually being promoted through ladder? If we win a duel what do we recieve from it?

You will not be getting rewards for "winning a duel".

However, you may get something for things such as "Highest skill rating from _____ date to ______ date."

Maybe for best hot streak. Or something like that. Overall achievements over a period of time will be reasons for reward, not each win.

Hope this clears things up. And I don't know what the rewards will be. That's up to Rayo and other Admins/Mods.

The point is that this is in an experimental phase, but if done right, could evolve into better things in the future.

whenever i try to go sign up for the ladder, it keeps saying page can't be found. is there another way to sign up?

I've lost complete touch with Tokki, who is the main Admin. I have the same problem too...let me try to contact her, and I'll give an update.

What ever did become of this?

Cypher could never get ahold of Tokki. I tried a couple of times too. You can try, but you will probably have no luck. Chances are the duelist ladder has been shut down due to these circumstances.

Then we make one ourselves. It looks simple enough. But I probably wouldn't be able to oversee it cuz I'm not a mod or anything.

Since Cypher and Kiwi were two of the original creators, you could ask them for help or permission.

It's probably best that someone else does it, cuz I'm not gonna be around too often for a LONG time.

I'll talk to Kiwi and Cypher bout it, and see if there is any chance of another one being put up. Anyone willing to help can contact them after i get their response.
