A bank is one thing the site ought to have, since several players spend long periods in quests and then suddenly have a short time for purchasing things... short times in which some extra GP might help immensely. I know there is already another bank on the site, but I felt this would work well, so I will give a list of + and - things this bank has in comparison. First though, the system:

Policies:
General Account: Any who wish to deposit money into a savings account may do so, and they will receive a 1% return rate that will be compounded every week on Friday. Deposits will be credited to your account on Friday, and withdraws may be made at any time, effective as of the time the withdraw was made. Any account with over 1000 GP in it will be granted a percentage on the sum of 1000GP. Interest will be compounded, and accounts will be maintained by the banker to the accuracy of 25 decimal places. At the moment, the maximum number of accounts is 20. (two others to whom I showed the proposal have offered to chip in for the backing, which would raise the account size and/or the number of accounts, but for the moment, I'm risking only my GP... at least till this bank gets going)

Loans: Any who wish to borrow money may speak to me for proper handling of possible ‘collateral’. Loans may be made up to an amount of 5000 GP (or the maximum the bank holds) and a 4% interest rate will be levied upon them, compounded every other week. Pay periods are a minimum of 300 every other week on Friday (the same day of the compounding), with a 2% fine added to the amount for a missed period.

Stock: Buy in is 1000 GP for one share of 4% of the bank’s profits. (meaning… anything above the interest taken by those with savings accounts in a given week will be spread to shareholders at 4% per share for immediate use during that week) Any week when the interest drawn from the accounts exceeds the profits the bank brings in, I will take the losses directly (though the shareholders will receive 0 for that week).

Bank Funding:
Initially, the bank will be funded directly from my pay each week. I have forced it so that the maximum amount that will be drawing interest will be 20000 GP, which at a 1% rate would be 200 GP each week, exactly the amount which I receive weekly. As time passes, the bank will become more dependant on loans that are being made, and the interest drawn from them, at which point, the bank can become larger through larger loans, larger bank accounts and/or a larger number of accounts. The amount for loan will be funded by the shareholders and by those with accounts.

In addition, a Bank Auction will take place every other month on the week following the first Sunday in each odd numbered month. Items for sell will be any collateral pieces from delinquent borrowers who have missed more than one pay period (possibly from having left the site).


Bank comparision:
General account:
+ This bank has gauranteed intrest with something more solid than the promise of a large sum of GP in the background.
+ This bank has a slightly higher intrest rate, and can be collected on faster.
- This bank limits the ammount of gp that earns intrest, resulting in less overall profit for any accounts that would be over 1000 GP

Loans:
+ This bank has a lower intrest rate and a payment plan to insure that the loan can be payed off
- This bank has a cap on loans, and requires colateral from the borrower

Lighteria is the second funder of the bank, and with that, the bank now allows intrest on up to 1500 GP for up to 25 people.
A person who has an account open here if/when they are banned/deleated, the GP that was in this account will remain here for the purpose of funding the bank.

Well...lets see now. frankly i doubt the bank idea will work at all, the economy isnt suitable for it. i am very disturbed by kiwi's...to put it politely...profiteering manipulation of fuzzys bank. combined with the fact no loans have been made, it is clearly taking advantage of fuzzy. I for one can understand if you put your own money into a bank, yet kiwi has gathered so many peoples money and thrown it all together creating a situation he knows fuzzy cannot handle. you may say, "well i'm not breaking any rules i'm just using what services are offered," but there is something called a conscience...specificly not taking full advantage of someone for your personal monterey gain.

but all of that aside, i am interested in setting up an account with thsi bank. it has firm rules and, although i doubt many loans will be made, i see it as a professional establishment. i would like to make an account and place 9000 of my Gp within it.

to you Retn, although i expect for this bank to follow ist own regulations, if no profit is being made for an extended period of time, i will ask that i be given no interest payments

a bank works liek this:

#1 the bank gets peoples money and gives interest for it so people will keep their money in teh bank.

#2 the bank issues loans and lends money out, charging a higher interest than is given to those who have deposited, usually over 3 times higher.

#3 the bank makes profits by taking the diffrence in what money they make from loan interests and what they pay to those who have deposited interest.

that is the fundamentals of banking, and if a bank cannot make a profit...it goes under. A bank cannot continue without loans, many many loans.

And another first! I would like to take out a Loan of 1100GP. Okay, since you never said if we have to await an approvial or anything before we can get the loan i'm just going to take the loan, and if we do have to await an approvial i'll return the loan and take the money out of my own savings. Hey, that's a good idea. You should have it set up so a person can only take out a loan as much as they currently have in their savings, so incase they never pay up of if they stop playing, you can just take the money from their savings and deposite it into the bank itself. But that doesn't mean if like somebody has 1000GP deposited they can take out a loan of 1000GP and then later another loan of 1000GP before repaying their previous loan, they can only take out like 500GP, then 200GP, then 300GP. That would prevent any substantial moneyloss from the bank.
