Title: Behind the Red Door
Description: In Character Meeting
Hacorie - April 7, 2004 08:38 PM (GMT)
It has been awhile, but Hac had finally returned to the Clan house of Fatal Exception. As he entered, he saw that he had time on his hands so he started to look around. The Heavy Blade had never really searched the premises before, but it was about time. Looking around, Hac peered to the left to see the main room where the fire was roaring, but to the right was a flight of stairs that led upstairs. The Heavy Blade withdrew his sword and started waving it around clearing cob webs.
It was like a mystery show because Hac was slowly going up creaky stairs to see what was up there. It was very Mysterious because it looked like no one had ever been upstairs which could be a good thing. Reaching the top of the stairs, Hac started to walk in the now seen hallway. There were many doors left and right, but at the end of the hall was one that stood out tremendously.
“Though curiosity killed the cat, it sure cannot kill me.” Hac said as he smirked as put his hand on the door knob. He quickly turned it and opened the door where an amazing site could be seen. The very time and space had been broken as the door led to a field. It was a very strange field for it had no dungeon nor did it have any monster portals. It was just right for a meeting place for the new members of the clan.
Hac had just received a Flashmail from Ichida saying the quest ended and the new recruits picked were on their way. Quickly Hac rushed down and wrote a small note and put it on the door. All people in the clan come upstairs to the red door at the end of the hall. That was what the note said. Quickly, Hac ran back up the stairs and into the room and leaned up against a tree as he awaited everyone to make their entrances.
(OOC:This is an in character meeting place.)
Xenosaga - April 7, 2004 10:40 PM (GMT)
Xenosaga wanted to get the feel of the Fatal Exception HQ, and what better way then to look around? He walked up to the front door and saw that Hac had already posted a note where all the new members should meet. hmmmm, behind the red door, eh? OK! I'll go up straight away! thought Xenosaga as he opened the door to the Fatal Exception HQ. He walked in. Nice he thought as he walked through the corridor. He saaw a flight of stairs and thought that the room must be at the top. He climbed up the somewhat questionable stairs and reached the red door. He opened it and saw Haccomy standing in the middle of a peculiarly placed field. A field inside of a building? Impossible! Xeno waced at Hac. "Hya!" was all he could think to say.
Sojuro - April 7, 2004 10:50 PM (GMT)
I had finnaly made it, it wasn't easy, but i had. I was now, officially a member of a clan. And one with a cool name too! Fatal Exception... Fatal Exception... FAY-tal X-cept-shon... Whoo! Got a little too carried away in my thoughts there. Just before departing from the Chaos Gate Ichida said that we would recieve an email if we had made it in or not. Thankfully, i had and am now totally psyched! There were instruction in the email to head to the Clan House of Fatal Exception. Not quite sure of where to go, i wandered about Mac Anu for awhile, reading sighns, and following tourist menus untill i eventually wound up in front of a gargantuan mansion. This must be the place... Me do thinkith!
Inside there were murals of monsters adn warriors on the ceiling, vibrant rugs and tapistrys, and glistning crystal chandelers in the main room. I was awed by it's vast beauty walking without looking where i was heading untill i bumped into the wall. Apon the wall was a bulliten board with notes stuck to it. The most recent note read.
All people in the clan come upstairs to the red door at the end of the hall.
Not the best wording but it gets the point across. Following the staircase up along the wall and then proceeding to the end of the hall there was the red door as the note said there should be. I twiddled the door knob slowly opening the door peeking through the slowly growing crack, inside it was dark, almost black, but i could see a light, a very tiny one that look to be off into the distance. I gave a quick thought to what this place might be, then excitedly opened the door fully and walked in heading always towards the light.
Taron - April 8, 2004 01:30 AM (GMT)
Taron was now a member of the Fatal Exception. After finishing the reqruitment test, Taron waited for his email. Ichida said that if you made it in you would get one, and Taron knew he had made it in. He had to. After about fifteen minutes of waiting in his inbox, Taron finally got the letter. It was simple and short, telling him two things: he was accepted and he was to meet at the clan house. Very blunt aren't they? He picked up his VR goggles and logged into "The World".

WELCOME TO THE WORLD.
No matter, Taron already knew where the clan house was, he had scouted it out before he went to the field with the other hopeful reqruits. It had looked small on the outside but as Taron pushed open the door and stepped inside, he discovered that it was the complete opposite. The place was very large indeed. Wonderful tapestries hung from the walls, there were paintings of different monsters on the ceiling, even a giant fire place off to the left. This place is AWESOME!
Turning to the right, Taron noticed a bulliten board next a staircase. He walked over and instantly saw the most recent post (it was not on aged paper). It read:
All people in the clan come upstairs to the red door at the end of the hall.
Taron looked up the dark staircase, it wasn't very inviting. He decided that it would be best though to follow orders on his first day in the clan. As he slowly aproached the stairs, Taron heard creaking above his head, then a door slam. Someone is up there. Taron pulled out his Steel Blades and gripped them tight. He didn't want to kill a fellow clan member but you never knew what was up the dark stairs in the horror movies.
Taron slowly made his way up the stairs, one at a time. He didn't want to make any un-wanted noise that might give away his position. It was silent up there now, no one was moving. Maybe they're just waiting for me to climb the steps so they can jump me off guard. Taron got closer and closer to the top, hugging the wall to make himself less visible. When he was just three steps from the second floor he ducked down and then sprang up. His feet made a Thunk as they landed on the wooden floor. There were cobwebs hanging and it was dark. The only light was at the end of the hall, just a crack of light. Taron cautisouly made his way torward it. As he got closer, he realized it was the red door that was on the note. Taron was just about to put his hand on the doorknob and push it the rest of the way open when he caught himself. Isn't this always the way the hero dies in the horror films? Doesn't he always get caught opening the door that turns out to be the monster's lair just because some stupid note told him too? Well, Taron wasn't going to be caught off guard by some stupid giant red wyrm! No sir! He wasn't going to get head-butted in the back! No sir! He was going to be the hero! He was going to rush in there and give that monster a peace of his mind!
With a yell, Taron kicked the door open and rushed inside, bearing his Steel Blades like a madman. His mouth dropped open when he saw just a couple of the other recruits sitting next to Hacomy. They all stared back, obviously puzzled. Taron took double takes, to the left and right. Where is the monster? This is just a field? A field? This was supposed to be the clan house! Taron hung his head and slowly walked over and sat next to the others. I am so stupid! There were a lot of things he didn't understand about this game.
Sein - April 8, 2004 06:04 AM (GMT)
Hmmm I wonnder whats going on at the Clan house. As i step within ceratin distance I can see that somebody left the door open. what the?! Who the f**k left this open. I walk into the house and make sure to close the door behind me. As I close the door I notice that theirs a new note posted.
All people in the clan come upstairs to the red door at the end of the hall.
Since hwen have they had an upstairs? man i really need to start paying more attention. i walk up the noisy stairs. They really need to invest ins ome light bulbs or something its dark as hel up here. it said at the end of the halway so that must be the red door. I open the door and see that it enters into a field.
"WAT THE?!! How long have u guys been hiding this place."
I can see that some of the new recruits were there. i wave at Hac and find somewhere out of the way to sit down at. i lay down on the dirt against a big tree shielding me from the hot sun. I wonder whats up with this place. Im too lazy to look around right now, but i wonder if there are any monsters or maybe a dungeon in this place. Im sure Hac will address it sooner or later. i pull my bandana over my eyes and take a little nap.
Ichida - April 8, 2004 10:17 PM (GMT)
Immediately after the quest, Ichida had taken a short hiatus fom "The World," and was finally back online.
After receiving a message from Hacomy, he knew he had to come and meet in the clan's meeting room. As he entered Mac Anu, he ran across the bridge, down the east stairs, down the alley, and up the stairs behind the building. Walking to the end of the hall, he swung open the red door to greet all of the members he had recently quested with. He waved a gentle greeting to each one before taking his seat at the front right of the table.
"So, what is it you needed to see us about?"
Aryanna - April 9, 2004 01:31 AM (GMT)
Aryanna's first venture into the Fatal Exception stronghold was a proud one, for she had worked her hardest to defeat the Red Wyrm and become a member of the clan. She took her first step across the threshold with pride, head held high and a smirk on her face as her new Fire Wand clicked along the ground beside her. "Not bad," she murmured to herself, eyes wandering and collecting every detail of the building she was in. It seemed to be a marvelous structure... but so empty. Where was everyone else? Certainly there had to be someone else in the headquarters at that time. Could all the other Fatal Exception members really be logged off? How ironic that would be.
"Oh, wait." The Wavemistress noted a piece of paper pinned to the clan message board -- it seemed strangely accented somehow, like it was something to which everyone's attention was supposed to be drawn. "Meet.... behind the red door. Hm. How vague." Nevertheless, she supposed that this "red door" was where everyone was hiding. "There must be something awfully important going on if everyone's there and nowhere else. I shan't keep them waiting."
It was a short while before Aryanna finally found the red door described in the message, but when she did find it, she knew that she had found the right thing. After all, how many bright, out-of-place red doors can there be in one building? She approached the thing calmly and turned the doorknob easily, pushing it open with a single thrust and moving inside. The fact that she had stepped into a field devoid of magic portals and dungeons did not phase her; this was her first time in the headquarters so she was rather expectant of anything. Sure enough, there were her fellow clan members. She recognized most of them -- they had been present in D Chatting Confused Knights -- but there were a couple she had not seen before. Hacomy was one (Aryanna had not been present at his briefing, but joined the mission afterwards), and Sein was another.
The atmosphere was one of anticipation. Everyone seemed to be waiting for the others to speak. It was clearly a meeting of the Fatal Exception members, and so one of them would have to eventually tell them why they were here. Remaining as silent and sombre as the rest of them, Aryanna threw her back against the tree, crossed her legs and closed her eyes to wait for someone to speak.
Mirelle Tsurugu - April 10, 2004 12:41 AM (GMT)
Mirelle barged her way through the cobblestone-lined streets of Mac Anu, her face almost seemig to shine with glee. Even though she had played no role whatsoever in the fight at Chatting Confused Knights, she had been accepted into Fatal Exception. Her grin grew wider as she neared the clan house. "The wanderer of Fatal Exception," she intoned. "I like it! Mirelle Tsurugu of Fatal Exception." She leaned her back against the front door and leaned into it, straining to push it open. "I've gotta work out more oten," she groaned.
The front hall was grand, and Mirelle could see a furnished sitting room with a roaring fireplace in it. She licke dher lips in hunger. "Mmm, you could cook some mean S'mores on that thing!" A flash of pale white caught her attention. "Hmm?" She turned around and noticed the paper tacked onto the door. It was wrinkled from her earlier efforts, but the message on it was still readable.
All people in the clan come upstairs to the red door at the end of the hall.
The Long Arm shrugged at the strange message. "Wonder why we've got to go upstairs? Oh well Hac-kun know what he's doing, I guess." She started climbing up the creaky steps, noticing the fresh footprints of other players in the layers of dust. "Oh great, late as usual." Mirelle sighed, ducking to avoid getting a cobweb in her blue-green hair. "I've got some rotten luck."
she gave the long door-lined hallway a surprised look and edged into the midle of the hall. "Don't want something to coe leaping out at me from the shadows, I guess," she said to herself. She looked over one shoulder as she sprinted to the red door. She popped it open and took a huge bound out of the hall and into...
Mirelle landed in a very prickly bush, her arms becoming tangled in its branches. She waved her Iron Spear around in an attempt to cut herself loose. "A little help, somebody?" She looked around the field and gave the assembled players a feeble grin. "Uh... hi, fellow FXers!"
Jinken - April 10, 2004 03:27 PM (GMT)
Jinken, fresh from his recruitment quest, decided he would check out the guild HQ with the rest of the new recruits. He entered shortly after everyone else to see they were heading into a red door. He followed only to find the door brought them to a strange field. He looked around and happened to spot Hac. We must be having a meeting of some sort.
Ichida - April 26, 2004 03:18 AM (GMT)
(OOC: So what's this meeting about anyways?)
Hacorie - April 26, 2004 12:02 PM (GMT)
(I will get to it...when i have time)
Hacorie - May 13, 2004 09:00 PM (GMT)
Hac got up from his slumped position and turned to his teammates and started talking. “Well it seems we have many new faces, and some old ones as well. This meeting was called so we could all introduce ourselves and discuss a very important matter.” Hac said as he got up and started walking away from the group. “Come . . . ” He said as he heard a bunch of people get up and start to follow.
“In all my time of being here, I never knew there was such a place as this. No dungeon . . . no monsters . . . only the bright sunlight beating down on the grass and other things. This would be the perfect place for . . . Yes! That’s it!” Hac said as he talked and yelled to himself. After this day, this place will be a meeting ground, and a dueling ground for clan members. Same rules apply as a normal duel, except, you cannot use any items because this is only practice, it will not count. This place will help home your skills.” Hac said as he stopped and turned around at the edge of a forest.
As a small breeze floated by, Hac spoke once again. I have heard many tales of places in which rare items lay in wait, and one where a few hackers are present. I have heard from Ichida about your adventure to the last field. It sounded fun. These next quest, I will even participate in. I will give you a list of three that I remember, and I wish everyone would vote. This will be a secret vote so I will hand everyone out a sheet of paper in which they will put the name of the field. Your choices are . . . oh these are all in Theta Server.” Hac said as he passed everyone out one sheet of paper.
“Turbulent Snowflake’s Safe Haven . . . Level 18
There is said to be a monster here that increases your level and flourishes you and your party with rare items. The beast is said to be friendly, but hard to catch since it flees from vibrations that are transferred through the grounds. This means that you would have to fly to catch it. Is it possible?
Next is . . .
Screaming Sage’s Secret Tower . . . Level 17
A band of hackers is said to have gathers in a gigantic pillar in the middle of this field. No one is sure if the pillar is a dungeon or part of a lost castle. If we choose this one we are going to defeat the hackers and explore the pillar to see what it holds. These hackers are said to be novices, but no one really knows.
Lastly . . .
Hidden Fantasy Duel Level 16
There are said to be 30 of the most elite fighters in “The World” that banded together to form a fighter’s guild. It is said that if all are defeated then an emmence reward will follow. Maybe rare items.
Now it is up to you to decide. I have already picked mine.” Hac said as he wrote the field name down on the card. It was Hidden Fantasy Duel . . . Hac loved to duel, and he did not want to pass up this opportunity. As he folded the paper he took off his cape and placed the folded paper on the sheet.
“Put it there when you are done.”
(OOC: IChida i tried reading your guide, i do not know if these field levels are right though so if i make a mistake please pm me so i can correct)
Ichida - May 13, 2004 10:11 PM (GMT)
As he listened to Hac's briefing on the three possible missions, he sat back in his chair with an inquisitive expression. These three missions differentiated but were also very similar.
The first one, the area at Θ Turbulent Snowflake's Save Haven, wherein a supposed monster lay wait for any player to try and defeat it for a substantial level and inventory boost. This supposed wealthy monster could implement sonar waves into the ground and become aware of its enemies' presence if they were to approach it by foot. Therefore, as Hac had said, the only way of getting close to it would be to attack from the air. But that was not very likely nor possible to happen. Scratch that...
The second mission, located at Θ Screaming Sage's Secret Tower, involved a group of novice hackers' meeting. Defeating them would certainly help out "The World" in general. Plus, Ichida wanted to see what some real hackers could do. The challenge was inticing. Maybe...
And the final option, which would take place in Θ Hidden Fantasy Duel, involved taking on a large group of fighters, estimated at a total of thirty. There was no telling how powerful they were overall, and with their small numbers they would surely be defeated. Too risky...
Taking a sheet of paper and claiming a pen from his new vest's pocket, he scribbled something down on the paper and handed it back to Hac. "Here's my choice."

A field just for us to duel in without monsters and such? Not such a bad idea. I could really use some practice on my duels.
As far as the Quests. Hmmm this one is a tuffy.
Turbulent Snowflake's Save Haven:
Besides flying the only way I can see us defeating a monster like that would be to stand still and just cast on it repeatedly. Do we even have any Wavemasters in the clan?
Screaming Sage's Secret Tower:
A group of hackers ey? This sounds promising. Even if they are novices. And like Ichida said we'd be helping out The World in the process and I really want to see what's inside that pillar.
Hidden Fantasy Duel:
I don’t know if I want to fight a bunch of fighters just yet. Like I said I do need to hone my dueling skills a bit. But I’m more than willing to go if this one is chosen.
On my ballot I check off Screaming Sage's Secret Tower.
Walk over and puts my ballot along with Hac's and Ichida's.
(OOC: how would we go bout practicing do we just make a topic on here or do we go to the duels section?)

Xeno writes this on his ballot. He hands it over to Hac.
"I hate hackers. And Illeagal characters. Im voting for this one." said Xenosaga. With that, he walked ovet to a small space on the field and sat down, away from everyone...

(OOC: Actually, we do. Air Sylph, who hasn't been on in a while, and Aryanna, whose status I'm not sure of.)
Heno Konezawa - May 15, 2004 07:40 PM (GMT)
How about we go to level 4 field? It'd be good for people for low levels. Think that'd be fine?
Ichida - May 15, 2004 08:33 PM (GMT)
If you want to do that, quest on your own. These fields were chosen.
Ichida - May 15, 2004 08:47 PM (GMT)
Actually, you might be wrong about the level for one of them, Hac. I'll post the details for each field anyways.
Turbulent (J, Blizzard, Afternoon, +2 Levels, +6 Items)
Snowflake's (N, Snowfield 2, Blizzard, Afternoon, Average Buildings, +5 Monsters)
Safe Haven (Q, Hills, Many Portals)
This would mean a Lv. 17 Afternoon Snowfield wherein it's snowing. Many portals.
Screaming (M, +5 Size, Hills, +2 Levels, Few Portals)
Sage's (H, Blizzard, Afternoon, +4 Monsters)
Secret Tower (Q, Hills, Many Portals)
Also Lv. 17, Snowfield with snowy weather and few portals.
Hidden (D, +1 Level, Few Buildings)
Fantasy (Q, Rain, Afternoon, Flat)
Duel (Q, Steep Hills, Average)
Lv. 16, rainy afternoon grassland (I think that's the default)
Sojuro - May 19, 2004 03:56 AM (GMT)
I had been silent for awhile merely watching what was happening. I though that the idea of a clan quest was quite a good idea so i took my ballet and wrote Θ Turbulent Snowflake's Save Haven on it. I wasn't much in the mood for a fight so this seemed much easier, and i could probably get some good items in doing so.
Hacorie - May 19, 2004 08:15 PM (GMT)
(OCC:5 days left to vote)
Mirelle Tsurugu - May 23, 2004 05:29 PM (GMT)
((I ish back for the summer! Yayness!!)) Mirelle was in a quandary, and not because of having to free herself from a very prickly and stubborn bush. "Itemus or hackers..." she mumbled to herself in thought. "Well, I'd like to gain a bunch of cool itemus, but I'd also like to kick hacker tushie that isn't Prevann's." The Long Arm paced for a few moment, brow furrowed in concentration. Then she shook her head and bellowed at the sky. "Gyah! I hate making decisions," she screamed. A few other FXers started at the sudden outburst, but Mirelle really didn't care about the looks they were giving her. She scribbled a few words on her sheet of paper, folded it roughly, and jammed it into Hac's hands. "Here," she groaned. "And I'm not changing my mind!"
