Title: How to Type Server Symbols
Description: Yes!

Ichida - January 11, 2004 04:30 AM (GMT)
This is something I'm sure we ALL need, ne? So here's how to do the Server Symbols.

For all symbols, first you need to type &# then a three-digit number, then a ;

No spaces. No formatting necessary, the above formatting was just to accentuate its importance. Here are the numbers that you put inside the punctuation marks:

Δ Delta: 916
Θ Theta: 920
Λ Lambda: 923
Σ Sigma: 931
Ω Omega: 937

REMEMBER: When editing posts that have these server symbols, make sure you place the code again, or else the Server Symbol will screw up and show something else, that Ä some topics have, for example.

Indeed, this is very useful. Just for future reference, this shall be posted. ^_^

Good job Ichida. It'd be nice if people started using this more often.

Ichida - January 11, 2004 03:11 PM (GMT)
Thanks for the compliment. I knew this would be of use. ^-^

Ichida: 2! :P

There is another... perhaps easier way to do this... use the symbol font.

CODE
[FONT=Symbol] D Q L S W [/FONT]

D is Delta,
Q is Theta,
L is Lamda,
S is Sigma,
W is Omega.

becomes D Q L S W

However... his varient is shorter, and should be used when pressed for space.

Is that how its done?

Ichida - January 18, 2004 05:45 PM (GMT)
Well, seeing as the symbol's right there, I'm guessing you got it right. :P

Lei Bei - January 18, 2004 11:48 PM (GMT)

*Pulls pants up*

Cause if yas thinks real hards, yous will sees that I used that codes to make them symbols.

Basicly instead of 916 in the code, I put like 123. Easy as cake

Ichida - January 19, 2004 05:02 AM (GMT)
And you're coming up with nadda. :P If you want the numbers for any specific character (including greek letters), let me know :P

for a ¬_¬ smiley, a short way of doing it is option + L! muwahahaha That's for us Mac users anyway. For all the symbols available on Windows and their keystrokes, read and learn, cos this gets complicated to explain time and time again.

1. Go to Start Menu
2. Go to Programs submenu
3. Go to Accessories submenu
4. Go to System Tools Submenu
5. Go to Character Map application

Once there, you'll be granted the wisdom of many programmers' time wasted playing with things and getting them to actually make something.

I suppose its time I reveal my source. Thias is the site where I found out how to type the Symbols. Enjoy!

ZAC TRETTER - March 6, 2004 09:07 PM (GMT)
Choose #s around 100 to get letters. For example put in 100 for d

ZAC TRETTER - March 6, 2004 09:13 PM (GMT)
Put in 8592-8595 to get arrows.

Is there a way to make the TM or ©?

ZAC TRETTER - March 20, 2004 12:07 AM (GMT)
What the... I just made the ©.

Kiara - March 20, 2004 12:17 AM (GMT)
What system are you using? Windows or Mac OS? Reason I need to know, is that there are different ways to make the symbols on the two systems.

Mac (English keyboard setting):
option + 2 = ™
option + g = ©

Windows
not sure, but if you go through the following steps, you'll find it:

1. open start menu
2. go to programs submenu
3. go to accessories submenu
4. go to system tools submenu
5. click on character map and select the font you wish to use

Alert! Not all symbols are available on all Windows system fonts. You've got to fish through the fonts till you find one that will support the symbol you are looking for.

ZAC TRETTER - March 20, 2004 12:22 AM (GMT)
I have been registered just that i can't do anything when i'm logged in.

Go to ZAC,registration and PM me there.

Another way for © is ( C )

Not actually. ( C ) is not equal to ©. They are indeed different, and ( C ) has no meaning, though I have discovered it types © when put together. :/

What the hell are you talking about? It's the same symbol.

Kiara - March 20, 2004 05:20 AM (GMT)
I edited the post, genious. You people just post post post after someone else. I noticed it put the same symbol after I posted, and I didn't know it would.

Ichida - March 21, 2004 05:57 PM (GMT)
I think he put the ( C ) as a guide, because anybody who can tell should know that if you put them together it'd make ©, because if the brackets ween't seperated then it would just make the symbol and not show how to do it.

it doesn't work on mine. THAT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Zenith - June 16, 2004 06:20 AM (GMT)
Man, I really wish I would've seen this topic here earlier. I posted my first quest topic by copying and pasting the delta symbol I found in a FAQ here because I'm lazy and didn't feel like manually finding the code for it myself. I mean, that takes mouse movement. Anyways, I thought it would work out but it didn't. Now I have a 'Ä' instead of a 'Δ' in the topic title and it looks really stupid. The worst part is that I can't even change it, so its stuck there...

*Slaps forehead* <_<

Do we put this code in the topic title area?

Ko_Inuyasha - April 5, 2005 03:41 PM (GMT)
is there a site where you can download new symbols? like spades or swords or dice?

You don't download them--they're all number entries like those were.

Or ALT + ### keys.

I hate typing those stupid symols
