Sounds awesome. I'll probably switch once I get enough levels.
kashiru - December 21, 2003 06:06 PM (GMT)
Hmmm this sucks naw i wont change wavemasters are more in tune with the elementals....
Arcion - December 21, 2003 06:17 PM (GMT)
Now that it's a reality... I'm not so sure I want to change. I've grown used to wielding a spear, and you can't do as much with a bow as you can with a polearm.
I might change, I might not. I guess I'll decide when I get the levels.
Hardishane - December 21, 2003 07:56 PM (GMT)
I think I'll probably change when i get enough levels. It would be awesome to be able to unleash a hail of arrows on your enemy. Also, from what I gather, since arrows cost one sp each, and since we could keep our current weapons, then that means if the enemy gets too close, then I could fall back on my sword and put the bow away, so it would be pretty interesting, but correct me if I'm wrong.
Phoenix512 - December 21, 2003 07:57 PM (GMT)
OOC: You keep your current weapons but you can't used them.
Hardishane - December 21, 2003 08:13 PM (GMT)
ooc: Thanks for the correction Phoenix, but if thats the case, then how much SP do Archers get, and what do they do if they run out of SP when they're in the middle of a battle?
Arcion - December 21, 2003 08:16 PM (GMT)
OOC: if archers run out of SP in the middle of a battle, there's only one thing they can do. RUN! lol
As for the SP, I'd assume you keep as much as you had before the change. You'd have to be really wasteful to use 50 arrows that quickly though.))
Rayo - December 21, 2003 08:45 PM (GMT)
ooc:Archers are a light class and SP goes by class type. your SP would be the same as a wavemaster.
Ichida - December 28, 2003 10:23 PM (GMT)
It'd be wise to keep many Mage's Souls, Archers :P
Fenfer - December 28, 2003 10:48 PM (GMT)
Looks like archer will dominate against wavemasters, cause of the physical long range attack. The wavemasters will have do a lot of running and seeing them cast a spell will not work as much, since arhcers will have good magical defence and dodging ability.
(OOC: O.o I smell... ownage? ;P or maybe... we'll see)
Deran Veniliriel - December 29, 2003 08:57 PM (GMT)
I have a question about this new class...
One new weapon that is available is the Rose Thorn Bow. Could it be possible that the bow has sharp thorns on it, allowing it to be wielded as a melee weapon? Just wondering...
Fenfer - December 29, 2003 09:13 PM (GMT)
Hm, thats a interesting question. I believe that you are not able to. The name is implied, I guess, because of the speed of the arrow as it hits the target, feeling as if the player/monster have landed in a bush of sharp thorns. Of course, I have no idea whether or not this may be true, but thats I interpret the term "Rose thorn" bow. =/ (Even though its a bad one).
Arcion - December 29, 2003 10:18 PM (GMT)
I think, if the bow did have thorns on it, it would only be for show. Unless it's a really sturdy bow, it would probably break if used in melee, plus it wouldn't do much damage even with the thorns.
Hardishane - December 29, 2003 10:27 PM (GMT)
The bow might not be that sturdy, but I'm taking a guess that we are using hunting arrows with the recurve bows, which are very sturdy, and steel crossbow bolts, so maybe if we can't run, then we could use an arrow to stab our way through, like Legolas? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Arcion - December 29, 2003 10:32 PM (GMT)
The arrows are made of SP, so technically you shouldn't be able to use them in melee either, though I have a plan to use them as such in the future myself. Just have to mention creating the arrow before using it as a weapon.
Fenfer - December 29, 2003 11:01 PM (GMT)
I think.. the arrow would be kinda like a spirit. You wouldn't be able to grasp it, but only to direct it with the bow. Since you create an arrow, you pull back on the string, and the arrow flies forward, with you not even holding the stick to the string.
A-7 - January 3, 2004 06:34 PM (GMT)
Why can't the archer be a low level?
Ichida - January 4, 2004 05:16 PM (GMT)
Consider the new class a reward of sorts for yuour achievement. The original six classes are the only ones you can start as.
