Rayo - December 17, 2003 10:06 PM (GMT)
This Just In!!!!!!!

Coming later this month, comes 2 amazing additions to the hit game The World!

:jawdrop:

Due to the popularity of the Fist Fighter Class and by popular demand, CC Corp is bringing you a new way to slay your foes. Prepare yourself for Archersm the newest class there is!

Coming Soon...

Thats not all! Another special class shall also be added to The World! This hidden class shall be revealed at the same time of the Archer class. Information shall be shown when it arrives!

Coming Soon...

Expect these upgrades for The World to be available before the Holidays!

Ichida - December 17, 2003 10:38 PM (GMT)
--; Aww, I was working on a really promising Fire Arm class.

Sydofh - December 18, 2003 03:09 PM (GMT)
See what happens, I come up with a good idea, and then everyone takes it. Oh, well, I will expect a check in the mail for the idea. A couple grand will do.

A gun class wouldn't work because The World is in a fantasy setting, and guns I think wouldn't fit. But maybe I am wrong.

I'm not sure what the other class could be though. It could have something to do with maybe a whip or something? Maybe a javelin or boomerang?

Gojira - December 18, 2003 05:14 PM (GMT)
Man, CC corp. really knows how to keep this game fun and interesting. I can't wait for the new classes!

Azuka - December 18, 2003 09:18 PM (GMT)
Alright cool. Another new class. In fact two new ones. I cant wait. I wonder what the other new class will be besides archerism. Maybe its a..................... Ummmmmm I have no clue. Oh well I guess I will figure it out once its realesed.

oni - December 18, 2003 11:57 PM (GMT)
Are these new classes going to be like the fist fighter where you have to be a certain level, and then you can switch or do you start as one of these classes?

Perhaps the other class will be some kind of weapon that can... I don't know, change into different weapons during battle or something.

I doubt even CC Corp. knows. They're just waiting for some of the guesses to reach their ears and then they'll choose the best one. That's my theory anyway.

Sojuro - December 19, 2003 12:20 AM (GMT)
I hope is some sort of class that uses something spiffy. I dont know what, but i know it's gonna be spiffy. BTW. Is it possible to change classes?

Gojira - December 19, 2003 01:59 AM (GMT)
I heard that it is possible to change classes, but you lose all your levels and your stuff. Basically, you start over.

Or so I hear. I'm not sure.

Risika - December 19, 2003 03:31 AM (GMT)
Hmmm...this might sound stupid, but I'd want it to be a class with...something like shape-shifting...or something to do with animals... with weapons that shift to better suit the form, but with the same stats..for the weapon. For example: the player would shift to a cat, and the weapon, previously a sword, would shift into a giant claw, with the same stats. The player would gain agility stats, but would lose attack stats, then, after the battle was over, the player and the weapon could shift back into the normal form, and the stats would go back to normal. Eh...like I said...a stupid idea.. <_<

Flash - December 19, 2003 04:38 AM (GMT)
((OOC:OOOOHHHH!! that mystery class better be the o'uka class from Twilight Bracelet! ooooooooo mannnnnnnn!! Warewolf shapeshifting class would be sooooooo.... SUPER DUPER UBER COOL! Man, just busting up things with your claws with super ease, and biting peoples arms and butts... OH YA!))

oni - December 19, 2003 03:46 PM (GMT)
It'll probably be a defensive class with a shield that has blades on it or something.

Sydofh - December 19, 2003 05:03 PM (GMT)
Might have something to do with using the following weapons:

Shuriken
Whip
Javelin
Boomerang
Katana (Light Blade???)
Scythe

((OOC: There are others but I have to make a reference to them and since The World is in the future, no one would remember these things, especially a 16 year old.
-A pole like Donnatello used in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Would that just be called a staff?
-And a weapon like Serge uses in Chrono Cross
sorry for the long OOC.....))

(OOC: "Bo Staff", "Thief Sword" :P)

Asura - December 19, 2003 09:13 PM (GMT)
(OOC:

Just to correct stuff. I'm fairly sure that the staff is a quarterstaff, though it might not be. Not sure of that. However, I am sure that Serge's weapon is called a swallow. Not a thief sword.

Note: Serge and Zidane both use swallows, yet in FFIX they ARE called Thief Swords.)

Ichida - December 19, 2003 09:16 PM (GMT)
(OOC: I know it is a Quarterstaff, but Donatello claims it to be a Bo Staff. And yeah, I got 'Thief Sword' from FFIX. Thanks for the real name, tho! ^-^ This will help the series I'm writing.)

I think it'd be cool if a class was created that new players could start off with.

Sojuro - December 20, 2003 03:15 AM (GMT)
((OOC: If it's a staff of somesort, i'd probably change to it, or if they give a period of time to allow you to change you class to any class w/o losing any items because of the new class additions i'd change to a Long Arm class.))

Nither class really appeals to me. I'm not big on using bows or my fists. I'm more of a sword/staff kinda guy. What REALLY want to do is change my class to a Long Arm, but i dont wanna lose my lvls and equipment!

Ichida - December 20, 2003 04:04 AM (GMT)
Yeah, same here. Twin Blades appealed to me at first, but I'm good with spears and lances IRL.

Azuka - December 20, 2003 01:26 PM (GMT)
It would be cool if the new class needed a particular item for u to turn into it. And every so often CC Corp would host a contest for people to try to win the item.

Ichida - December 21, 2003 10:14 PM (GMT)
Hmm...That's actually a good idea.

Jeremy - December 23, 2003 07:05 AM (GMT)
I do'nt see the point, and if you think it's such a good idea. how excactly would you win the contest for the item?

I'm posting responses to things I wasn't even here for :).

Going back to the fire arm class:
Okay, a fire arm class could work because of rifles. Rifles can be used as everyone knows about the workings of fire, and someone mght have just come upon some gunpowder, and found it burned real easily. Combine that with metal smithing and Voala! We have a rifle! Now, you could also include a type of revolver of types, using a rotary mechanism and simply shortening the barrel lowering accuaracy at long range, but it would still work. Also, the gun powder packages would stay the same, only difference as I said before would most probably be the barrel length between pistol and rifle. However, it gets rid of strategy, but if you are a straight forward person who happens to be between two rocks with two enemies on each rock, you could do some cool tricks to get them...

Guns wouldn't fit into the whole Magic and Swords theme that is Dot Hack. Besides, we already have the archer, which is already like a fire arm class.

((OOC: FireX, it seems like... like you're posting just to up your post number, and that bothers me. Not just here, but everywhere. I mean, why are you commenting on three month old news? Come on, that just doesn't make sense! I just had to get that off my chest. Feel free to scream obsanities at me, because I do believe I'm right.))

EDIT: ((OOC: Thanks. I kinda forgot. <_< ))

(OOC: just in case you cared, this is suppose to be an IC area. If OOC, then put OOC. Not that it's any of my business...)

Windstob - April 26, 2004 08:15 PM (GMT)
Elemental classes maybe nice, like Shadow Master or Fire Caster. The disadvantage would be like monsters being resistant to magic or a Blade Masters being weak at magic.

(OOC: Don't post anywhere before you finish your registeration.)

Ichida - April 26, 2004 09:29 PM (GMT)
Besides, if you want to specialize in any certain element, just get the appropriate equipment.

Zhao Xun - April 27, 2004 03:54 PM (GMT)
Does anyone know if these additions are being dealt with in the beta test?
