Title: Forced rehabilitation

Kiekan - May 27, 2003 01:11 AM (GMT)
If they are hackers, why would just banning them work? Why wouldn't they be able to hack their way into the server anyways? It seems like a pointless thing to do. Sure, its possible to decrease the threat, but hackers will always be around, and are pretty much impossable to stop.

Kiekan - May 28, 2003 01:38 AM (GMT)
It is impossible to stop hackers no matter what anyone does. For heavens sake.... the're hackers! They hack! The only sure way to stop them is to shut down the all the servers in 'The World', besides that, there is no other way to garantee that they will be stopped.

Kiekan - June 3, 2003 12:16 AM (GMT)
Even still, it is always possible to hack through security. Not some hackers, its like w happy walk through the park and have nothing to fear from threats such as these.

To all users of the world:

Anyone who is foundind hacking the system will be banned from the internet for 5 years. In addition they will be forced to go through a 2 year rehabilitation program. New safety features will allow tracking of hacker activities. This will be up in under two weeks. Please download the anti-hacker safety program from the site.

trying to stop a hacker is giving them exacly what they want, a bigger challenge. So it's almost impossible to stop them.

GothFalcon - May 27, 2003 12:10 AM (GMT)
Yeah, Right! You can't ban people from the internet for misconduct in a game. It's up to the discretion of the ISP they have, you can ban them from "The World" but the internet is open to all who can afford it. Good luck trying to convince ISP's to turn down money. And especially trying to get other ISP's from letting them start accounts.

*laughs* you think that pulling the plug on a single computer will stop a hacker? they can hack from the library or a friend's house, or wherever they can set up a connection. As far as keeping them away from a game, they are unstoppable. The only way you can block them is to have a full file scan every time anyone logs on and that would take forever and get too many complaints, so just forget them. Get some security officers that kill hackers and have immunity to their tricks. Until you can stop all hackers, I say let them be.

Vera - May 24, 2003 06:08 AM (GMT)
Are you sure, shouldn't you get a counter hacker to find the holes in it first

Ruri Hoshino - May 27, 2003 01:46 AM (GMT)
Not nessescarly, there is a way to stop hackers, and that's pulling the plug, but if you do, you'll pull the plug on our way of life. But then again, humans are adaptable creatures. We can survive without technology to certain degrees now. I think technology should only be used in the medical, law, and fire fighting fields. But I digress.

You might want to go over to "Hacking incidents on the rise" in "The World" News. I've got an explanation of how hacking The World probably works and why it can't be fixed.

Suiichi Sensui - June 2, 2003 10:06 PM (GMT)
Still, although the hacker may try to obtain entry to the world from another location, they'd still be under the rehabilitation program. I doubt they'd try anything while on 'probation', so to speak. Also, going to a friend's house or a library, wouldn't that put others in danger for your miscondunct? Although it wouldn't stop them, the prospect of multiple offense punishments would be swaying enough, in my opinion.

QUOTE (Litter @ Jun 2 2003, 10:29 PM)
If they've done it once their not gonna care about doing it again and getting in more trouble.

Remember, we're not talking about a simple night in jail, or a few weeks here. Five years is a very long time.

Sargeth - June 1, 2003 02:26 AM (GMT)
Just because you cant stop all of them doesn't mean you shouldn't try to stop some of them... o_0

Litter - June 2, 2003 05:02 AM (GMT)
Maybe their like siblings! If you ignore them they'll go away! Your just cry and make bigger problems ooooor beat you up.

Litter - June 2, 2003 10:29 PM (GMT)
If they've done it once their not gonna care about doing it again and getting in more trouble. As far as most are consured their perty much safe doing anyhting until their caught. Not to mention the rush from hack probably keeps them from caring who else they possible got into trouble.

Flame - June 3, 2003 12:16 AM (GMT)
