Title: Chosen Despaired Twin Hills

Adrya - October 25, 2009 01:03 AM (GMT)
Her eyes were dry, contacts were sticky, and she was still tired. Her nap didn't seem to have helped her much as she laid on her couch, wrapped in a fleece blanket. She blinked her eyes a few times as she looked to the window, the sun outside setting ever so slowly. She had managed to sleep her evening away only to go back to sleep within the next few hours. Since she was now awake though, she decided that it would be a good idea to rise from her warm, comfortable nest and making something out of her evening. Weekends always led to lazy days. Dom wasn't around to hang out with, and Bethany has disowned a lot of her friends due to the past problems, so she was hard pressed for finding something entertaining to do. Her brother had been on the computer all day, so she couldn't get on then, but now it was open.

Open computer meant some entertainment at least.

Wrapping the blanket around her shoulders, Bethany walked over to the computer, sat down in the chair and booted the machine up. She hummed to herself as she waited for the computer to load, and once it was done, she loaded up The World. A knot began to form in her stomach, however, as she began to wonder if Vega had sent her anything. Bethany hadn't logged onto the game for quiet some time, so who knew how many messages she had stacking up in her mailbox.

The Altimit screen came on, its bright orange light causing Bethany's skin to take on an orange tint. Her inbox showed itself, and surprisingly enough, there was nothing from Vega. A sigh of relief escaped her lips as she continued the log on process. Within a matter of minutes, Bethany transformed into Adrya, the low level Wavemistress who had been out of play for about a month, was now here waiting for someone named Stane who she was to go out into a field with. The girl yawned and stretched as she sent him a message.

RE: Hi! :)
Hi!  Hope you're still willing to go out into the field with me! I'm in Mac Anu waiting by the Chaos Gate like I said I would be!  Hope to hear from you soon!

So, for a few moments she stood to herself, rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet. She was slowly coming to the realization that she was bored. True, she had only been waiting for just a few minutes, but when Adrya began anticipating an event, she became restless and needed something to do. She was excited yet nervous. Meeting random people could always bring about something bad or something good. You never could tell until you were in the middle of the encounter, and Adrya was terrified of going into things blindly.

Adrya refrained from the urge to walk around the town, so instead she decided to sit on the steps leading to gate and be patient. Leaning on her knees, she began to watch the different players run or walk to the different shops, or just stand to speak with someone. Adrya didn't know enough people yet to do things like that, but hopefully soon she would be able to. She liked having friends, she was just scared to make any.

Nemorac - October 26, 2009 05:15 AM (GMT)
(OOC: Hope this is okay, I noticed Stane mentioned that I might be joining in, so here we are)

Cameron paced around his room. It had been a while since he had gotten on The World, but he wasn’t sure if he wanted to or not. He stretched some, then as he was contemplating whether or not to get on, a sudden thought popped into his head. If he was going to be bored, why not at least get on? That way, there’s some chance of a break from the boredom and monotony of what he was currently doing. Thinking that was a good idea, he sat down at his chair, and dusted off the hypnotic VR headset he had purchased a while ago. All in all, it was a great invention. Because of it, he was able to feel more a part of the game, like he was actually there.
Putting the headset on, he grabbed his controller, booted up the PC, and when it was finally done loading, he launched the now familiar application, and input his information.

Name: Nemorac
Passsword: ********
Welcome to The World

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nemorac opened his eyes to the familiar sights and sounds of The World. The slight blowing wind, the bustling shop section, the various people wanting trades, and people just walking around doing nothing, it made him remember exactly why he liked games like this. In fact, he could already feel his boredom waning. Realizing he had forgotten what all was in his inventory, he poked around it for a bit. After getting re-acquainted with his inventory, he stretched a bit, thinking what to do.

”Hmm…maybe I can hang around the Chaos Gate. If I do that, maybe
I’ll get wrangled into questing with someone or something…”

Realizing he was talking to himself, he sighed. No matter where he was, that seemed to be a problem for him. He would often freak people out by saying exactly what he was thinking aloud, though he managed to keep most of the more snide comments and other things best left unsaid to himself. However, that still did not excuse the sometimes random outbursts that did happen, and it caused him problems more than once in his life. Still, it was one of the things that made him unique, so he just rolled with it.

Collecting himself and getting over his random “I’m talking to myself, look how weird I am” feeling he usually encountered when he realized he was talking to himself, he jaunted over to the Chaos Gate, not in any particular hurry, or for any real reason. As he walked there, there were the normal bout of people harassing him, those people who would spam trade requests, and various other things.

”Dang it guys, I’m trying to get sucked in here…you’re not helping…” He muttered under his breath.

Eventually though, he made it to the steps in front of the Chaos Gate. There, he spotted something he didn’t see very often: a female Wavemaster, or Wavemistress, as the case may be. Not only was that a bit of a shock to him, he also found the choice of clothing unusual. Instead of a standard type of Wavemaster garment, like robes or something of the like, she wore a white and blue outfit, with a sort of skirt arrangement from the waist down that showed her legs. The sleeves of the outfit seemed detachable as well. Nemorac assumed that, in a way, that might be more functional as Wavemaster apparel, but he preferred the more traditional garments. Deciding for no apparent reason to strike up a conversation, he sat down next to her, and smiled.

”Hello there. Nice day, isn’t it? By the way, the name’s Nemorac, how do you do?”

Nemorac hoped that his method of striking up a conversation wasn’t going to scare her away or put her off, because he meant well. However, his often extremely direct approach did seem to scare away some of the more shy individuals.

Adrya - October 27, 2009 10:44 PM (GMT)
Boring.

Resting her head on her hand as her arm rested upon her knee, Adrya inhaled deeply only to exhale an exaggerated sigh as she sat and waited. Impatience was one of many flaws that the girl had to deal with. She tried to think of other things to occupy her during her wait, but all ideas fell flat shortly after creation. As she stared forward towards the bustling group of Mac Anu, but not really looking at them of course, Adrya's eyes began to dry out. As she went to rub her eyes to bring back any bit of moisture, the Wavemaster failed to notice a figure sit next to her on the steps. Just as she was about to release her eyes from the assault, the figure spoke.

”Hello there. Nice day, isn’t it? By the way, the name’s Nemorac, how do you do?”

Jumping slightly, the girl twisted her body towards the male player, slowly bringing her hands down from her eyes. Looking to him she blinked a few times, registering the player and analyzing him. Another wavemaster, much like herself, wearing a more traditional grouping of clothing than she. A purple robe with a white dragon. He had blue eyes and black hair, giving a strong contrast against his actual form and features. She leaned in closer, her eyes still blurry from clouding up, and then sat back as she realized how close she actually gotten to the fellow player. Blushing slightly, her eyes began to moisten right back up.

“Oh, um, hi! Sorry. It is a nice day.”

She stared for another moment before the rest of his earlier statement finally registered.

“Nemorac?” She asked as she held out her hand with a grin, “Interesting name. Mine is Adrya, and I'm doing all right, I suppose. A little bored. Waiting for someone I'm supposed to meet.”

And this was the part Adrya always hated about meeting new people. The awkward silence that sometimes seemed to come out of a first time meeting between two people always seemed to be a permanent fixture in Adrya's introduction. Quickly her mind began to race for something else to say.

“How are you today?” She asked.

And that proved to be the hardest yet easiest response ever.

Why was getting to know this individual proving to be so hard for her? Usually Adrya's words flowed a bit smoother from her mouth, but for the past few weeks, real world and virtual, things seemed to be a little rigid. Perhaps it was all the drama she had to deal with concerning her friends, online and off. In the real world, Adrya was becoming a recluse rather quickly, and that was transferring into the game. She was being too careful with new people she met, and that was affecting her socially. She was becoming awkward.

So, here she was in Mac Anu, ready to make a new friend or lose one just as quickly. She hoped he wouldn't stand to walk away now. She was being weird...

Nemorac - November 3, 2009 01:53 AM (GMT)
The person he had decided to interact with certainly seemed interesting. Then again, he liked to try figuring out people and, occasionally, messing with them. However, now was not the time for that. He genuinely wanted to meet more people on here, and even though he’d met a few people by way of the Advent Dynasty, he still wanted to find people on his own to meet up with and explore The World with. Plus, if her avatar was anything to go by, this girl was cute. Though, Nemorac wasn’t exactly concerned with that.

”Ardya, huh? That’s a nice name. Pretty, too. I like it.” Nemorac smiled once more. For some reason, it seemed just logging on today was making him excessively happy. ”I’m doing fine, as you can probably tell. Well, better than I was a little while ago, anyway.”

Nemorac loved interacting with people. The World was an especially fine place for talking to people as far as internet games were concerned. Not as many people spamming requests about “selling x item for y outrageous price” or “get easy levels by going to z site for only u amount of money” (yeah, he was starting to run out of variables at this point). Still, even in those games, there were interesting people to talk to. At least, he thought so. Nemorac started to think about the various acts he’d committed against the internet community several years ago, and thinking of that made his resolve that much more to be a better person now.

Of course, to Ardya, his reactions for a second there were weird. He had been looking up at the sky, when all of a sudden his face contorted in disgust, then suddenly filled with resolve. Nemorac wasn’t able to control how his emotions were conveyed, so one could usually tell close to what he was thinking based on how his face was at the time. Realizing he had just done that, he turned back to Ardya, laughing a bit.

”Sorry about that. Zoned out for a second there. Well, maybe we can do something together here soon? Then again, from how you looked when I found you, you’re waiting for someone, am I correct?”

Just then, another player, a Heavy Axe, walked up to them. He had this grin on his face, and Nemorac could tell just by looking at the guy that this was one of those people who loved selling things at outrageous prices to people. And, sure enough, the man spoke.

”Hey, some Wavemasters! Not too many of you guys. Say, I got this really nice staff that I thi-”Not interested.”

Nemorac cut the man off, causing him to back up a bit.

”Why not? Don’t you want it? I swear it’s got a lot of power.”

”Whatever weapon you have, I’m sure you’re overpricing it. Besides, there’s a level requirement on games such as this, so that weapon would probably be useless to us anyway. Now, off with you, go peddle your overpriced goods somewhere else.”

The Heavy Axe let out a “tch” noise, and walked away. Nemorac sighed.

”Hate guys like that. Sorry about that, Ardya. So, any word from the person you’re waiting on?”

Adrya - December 29, 2009 11:31 PM (GMT)
Just as he asked, the Wavemistress received a small *bing!*

RE: In regards to the quest.
Sorry, but I won't be able to make it out with you today.  Some things came up.  See you around!
-Stane

Adrya let out an exaggerated breath, blowing her bangs from out of her face. Turning her head to the side, she looked to Nermorac with a slight smile accompanied with a touch of disappointment.

“Well, was waiting. Turns out he can't make it. Bummer.”

The girl then took the chance to stand and stretch slightly. She could feel the slight burning sensation in her muscles and it sent a chill down her back. She loved that feeling. It always had seemed relaxing to her, and once the sensation faded, her muscles felt as if they would give out and cause her to collapse. Sometimes she would see stars from the blood rush. Once she managed to gather her thoughts so that they weren't a jumbled mess, she turned to face the fellow spell caster as she offered her hand.

“Well, if you aren't too busy know, we should go out into a field. Two spell casters going out on their own could be a touch dangerous, but I've done it before and lived. Besides, I logged on today hoping to do something, so I would hate to have gotten on here for nothing!”

She grinned as she looked down to the other player, hoping he would except her invite. To be turned down twice in one day would be a slight blow. She had nothing to do IRL any way. So it all rested on his decision. However, if he didn't want to come out, he certainly wouldn't have to. She just really wished he would.

Nemorac - January 18, 2010 07:15 AM (GMT)
Nemorac looked at the Wavemistress in front of him. It was obvious in her expression that she sincerely hoped that he would accept her offer of a quest together. In a way, he wanted to laugh at the fact that she was asking and looking so hopeful. He also felt a bit of pain at the thought that popped into his head of declining her. But his answer was going to be obvious. After all, why else would he get on if not to go questing with someone. And who better than this fair lady who stood before him?

”I would be most grateful to accompany you on this glorious quest, Lady Adrya. I sincerely hope that our trip is eventful, enlightening, and enjoyable for both of us.”

As Nemorac said this, he made an extravagant bow, and just as he got through saying his very extended and overly enthusiastic way of saying 'yes,' his foot caught his robe, and he tripped. As he fell, he just couldn't help but think 'Typical.' He fell to the ground with a resounding 'SMASH!' As he picked himself up, he laughed a bit.

”I-ta-ta-ta-ta...that hurt. Ha ha, guess that's what I get for being so weird. Anyway, as I said, yes, I'd love to accompany you. Just one piece of information I'd like to know. Who was it that cannot come to our early soiree?”

As Nemorac waited her answer, he couldn't help but think back to his life before the eventual shut-in and basic rejection of video games as a whole for a few years before finally picking up The World. He pondered what made him forget what games like this were about, and couldn't really figure it out. Then again, maybe he never really knew what these types of games were about in the first place. Maybe he had just been interested in the various powers and skills that the games presented, and yearned to see them. That must have been the reason. Still, since starting here, he resolved to put that all behind him, and play these games correctly, meeting people, forming bonds, and most importantly, having fun.

It was probably because of that that he joined the Advent Dynasty. That, and Uruvei and Stane seemed like interesting people. Nemorac couldn't help but think about how funny it was the first time that he met Uruvei. Locked in battle in the arena. In truth, the battle was severely one-sided, and he had technically already been dead, but Uruvei had healed him in order to prolong the battle, or something. Nemorac wasn't entirely sure why she had done that.

All of a sudden realizing that he had been spacing out, he snapped back into reality....well, sub-reality anyway. He looked towards Adrya apologetically.

”Sorry about that, I was just thinking about some stuff, nothing important. So, in case I missed it, what's the name of the guy that can't make it? And while we're at it, got a field in mind?”

Nemorac hoped he wasn't sounding pushy, but part of him was somewhat yearning to go ahead and adventure. And heck, if she didn't have a field, he was sure they could figure out somewhere to go. Heh, perhaps he'd even let her meet the boneheads in Delta: Chosen Hot-Blooded Abyss. Then again, perhaps he'd save that for another time.

Adrya - January 18, 2010 06:46 PM (GMT)
”I would be most grateful to accompany you on this glorious quest, Lady Adrya. I sincerely hope that our trip is eventful, enlightening, and enjoyable for both of us.”

Adrya smiled softly at the other player's enthusiasm, watching him as he rose from his seat as well. He gave a bow towards the girl, but then found himself tripping and falling onto the stone ground of the root town. Adrya froze, all muscles tensing as she watched the fellow wavemaster come crashing down. Holding her breath, she waited a moment to see what his actions would be. Adrya hoped that he wasn't hurt, or even too embarrassed to move on. If there was one thing that Adrya was notorious for, it was being clumsy, so there was nothing to hold embarrassment for what-so-ever. However, everyone handled their actions differently. He then rose back up, laughing softly to himself.

”I-ta-ta-ta-ta...that hurt. Ha ha, guess that's what I get for being so weird. Anyway, as I said, yes, I'd love to accompany you. Just one piece of information I'd like to know. Who was it that cannot come to our early soiree?”

'That wasn't too weird, I don't think. I kind of liked it...' The girl thought to herself. She eyed the other wavemaster as he asked his question of who was to be joining them. A small pout formed on her lips, remembering back to the cancellation. It wasn't that player's fault, though; she understood sudden situations could come up. The situation however, over all, just sucked. Adrya loved large parties, but this would have to do. Nemorac seemed like an entertaining fellow anyways, so maybe this could be just as good of an adventure.

“His name was Stane, that's about all I know about-”

She then stopped, looking over to Nemorac and what seemed to be him day dreaming. He was staring into space blankly, obviously taken by deep thoughts. Her eyebrow quirked upwards as she watched him, but decided against interrupting. She would just let him continue until he was ready. He finally came to.

He apologized if he had missed the name of the individual and then began to ask about the destination in mind. A smile slide across Adrya's face as she laughed softly, placing her hands on her hips.

“His name was Stane, but that's all I know about him,” she left out the part about his drifting mind. It wasn't important and she didn't want to risk any awkward feelings. As long as he didn't do that too often, she would be fine with his slight distraction.

“As for the field, I was thinking of Chosen Despaired Twin Hills. Kind of a dark name for a field though, but it was the first thing that I could find that sounded remotely entertaining. Sound good? Have anywhere else in mind? Its either a level three or four field, so it shouldn't be too bad of a feat if we go to the one I chose.”

She waited for his response, a slight feeling of anticipation rising higher and higher. She wanted to get going; being in the root town for too long was suffocating. She wanted to get out there and try out her new wand and spells.

She then let her impatience get the best of her.

“Oh what the hell.” She grabbed the other Wavemaster by the hand and began to drag him towards the Chaos Gate. She hoped this didn't weird him out...

“Let's just go to the field I chose. Not saying that any field that you may have been thinking of wouldn't be fun or anything, I just figured that one was already chosen we could go there. If you decided you don't like it when we get there, we'll gate out and choose something different!” A smile stretched across her face once more as she looked over her shoulder at her partner. Focusing her attention to the Chaos Gate once more, she called out the words while still holding onto his wrist.

“Chosen Despaired Twin Hill!”

The chaos gate then activated, wrapping its golden rings around the mages, sending them to the field.

Nemorac - January 26, 2010 04:16 AM (GMT)
(OOC: Sorry I'm taking so long to post sometimes...inspiration is apparently not hitting me very much... <_< )

Nemorac's eyes widened a bit at the mention of the name. Stane? Now Nemorac was intrigued as to why Stane wasn't going to be accompanying them. Although, it was something he would figure out at a different time. In a way, Nemorac now felt that Stane owed him for partying with someone he had said would and had now ducked out on. Nemorac just shrugged it off mentally, and was about to answer Adrya's inquiry when she suddenly grasped him by the hand and drug him by the Chaos Gate. He lost balance but managed to recover, letting out a small “Hey” as she dragged him along.

However, part of his brain couldn't help but like the sudden decisiveness of his current partner. After all, spontaneity was always something he admired. Before he could say anything though, she had blurted out the name of the field, and the golden rings surrounded them, transporting them away from the root town.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

His eyes took a moment to re-focus once they got into the field. He took a look around, surveying the surroundings. One thing he noticed right off the bat was that it was raining. He somewhat hated rainy maps. They indeed set the tone of some of these maps, but he preferred clear maps. But, what are you going to do? Nemorac realized he didn't have a weapon out. A bad decision right now. Looking at his equipment, he decided on what he was going to use.

”Let's see here....it's a Thunder-based map...so....crap...weak to Darkness...guess I'll go with....this should be good.”

Nemorac equipped his old favorite, the Iron Rod. This particular staff/wand had served him quite well on previous adventures and excursions, and should indeed prove useful here. Although, not as useful if he had, oh say, some wand that gave a Darkness effect. Oh well, can't be helped.

He surveyed the surroundings a bit more, seeing where the nearest Chaos Gate was. The closest one seemed about 20 feet away. Smirking, he turned towards his partner.

”What do you say, race you there?”

Nemorac pointed towards the Chaos Gate as indication, gave a few sparse moments for what he said to sink in, then dashed off towards the Chaos Gate. He wondered how she was going to react to it, but didn't quite care. If she scolded him for childish behavior, so be it. It was just the way he was.

Adrya - May 3, 2010 01:01 AM (GMT)
“What do you say, race you there?”

“Huh?”

Adrya looked up from her arrival point in the field to see that her partner had taken off to the closest chaos gate. She blinked a few times, shocked and confused from the sudden outburst of her friend. At first she even thought that the man was leaving her behind. Shaking her head to gather her thoughts, Adrya took off, attempting to fill the gap between the two. As she began to race forward, she could feel the cool wind of the field hit her face, sending a chill down her body. Sprinting as quickly as she could, her legs began to see the gap between the two slowly close up.

The chaos gate began to dissolved away, and in its midst came forth three images, one tall and two quite small. Wanting to get in a hit before the other caster, Adrya rose her staff in the air and went to call a command. However, the words seemed to have slipped her mind. Cursing herself, she gave up on the attempt to call out a spell while running, and only concentrated on catching up before the fight actually began.

A swordmanoid and two small goblins came forth, readying themselves for the assault. Adrya finally caught up to the other mage, looking to him out of the corner of her eye. She had been out in the field very little, so she hoped she could keep up with Nemorac. The last time she could remember being out in the field was with Elmona and Vorv, and that had taken place quite some time ago. Shaking her head, she organized her thoughts so that she wouldn't be overly distracted.

“Ready?” She asked the other Wavemaster, a smirk hanging off her features. Raising her wand in the air, she remembered the command she was looking for earlier.

“Ani Don!” She cried, the spell hitting the swordmanoid. It staggered back some but kept coming forward. Being sure to watch her SP, Adrya wanted to be careful and not get herself into a bind during the fight. The last thing she needed to do was limit herself on her resources.

Nemorac - May 3, 2010 03:44 AM (GMT)
Nemorac ran towards the Chaos Gate, smirking as he did so. It had been a while since he'd done something like this, so he was excited. Plus, the thought of a party of just two Wavemasters made things interesting. In a way, he wasn't acting his normal self. But in that same way, he was also acting more like himself than he cared to admit. While he liked to strategize and plan according to various situations, he also couldn't help but just let himself throw caution to the wind sometimes and cut loose. Perhaps that was just the male genes in him acting up. Or perhaps it was because he didn't want to let go of his childhood. Either way, he was enjoying himself.

As he neared the gate, the golden circle spun and dissipated, leaving three enemies. A Swordmanoid, and two Goblins. Stopping to let Adrya catch up, he stood there, holding his Iron Rod confidently. As she nodded to him, he nodded back. She was ready, and so was he. Watching her focus on the Swordmanoid, he turned his attention to the Goblins.

”Yo, futari-tomo, omaera ore no tekidaiyo!”

Spurting out the probably somewhat bad Japanese, he rushed towards the Goblins, making them focus attention on him. Right when he got in between them, they started to swing, but he had already started casting. Raising his Iron Rod, he slammed it on the ground below him, yelling the name of the spell.

”Gan Rom!”

The wind picked up around him, picking up a few rocks and spinning them around, smacking the Goblins hard. However, it was not enough to kill either one. They completed their swings, striking Nemorac hard on the back. He rolled forward, out of the way of them. Grimacing at the pain and loss of HP, he turned around, eager to continue the battle. He decided to take out one of them first. Targeting the one on his left he raised the Iron Rod, channeling magic energy through it.

”Gan Zot!”

An earthen spire rose out of the ground, skewering the Goblin. It twitched a small bit before finally dying. Nemorac took a brief look towards Ayita to see how she was doing.

(OOC: Would be longer, but I want to see what you're going to do.)

Adrya - May 7, 2010 02:35 AM (GMT)
The swordmanoid staggered back a few steps, a guttural growl escaping the back of its throat. Adrya took a step back, crouching defensively with her staff in front of her body. Gripping its sword tightly, the creature swung towards the female wavemaster. Jumping to the side, the girl gave a sigh in relief for managing to avoid the attack. Pointing her rod at the monster, she cast another spell.

“Juk Rom!”

Small fire balls formed in the air and came crashing down onto the monster. Smack, smack, smack! One after the other the fire balls made contact, slowly taking away more and more health. One more spell ought to be enough, I think. That should take him down...hopefully. Calling for the fire spell once more, the wave of heat came crashing down once more, but Adrya's SP was suffering because of it. Taking note on how quickly it had lowered, she hoped that the creature would fall and give her a few moments to regain her energy.

Luckily, her wish had been answered.

The creature fell, its body fading and turning into the small golden orbs. They dissolved in the sky, and Adrya watched as it disappeared slowly. The soft golden light lit up the area for a moment before returning to its natural lighting. Finally coming to, the girl looked over her shoulder to see that one goblin remained. Nemorac had seemed to take out the other creature rather quickly. That was nice. Quick and effective.

Trotting over to the two, she began to raise her wand to cast another spell.

“Ani Don!” She cried, watching the spell as it took form around the monster. Watching it closely, she noticed that it was close to the end of its life. She didn't want to take the final hit though; she felt that may be unfair. Leaving it for her partner, the girl took a step back to let her magic refill itself completely. The last thing she needed was to go into a new fight with only half her magic available to her.

Nemorac - May 10, 2010 11:22 PM (GMT)
Nemorac smirked as Adrya finished off the Swordmanoid. He turned back to the remaining Goblin, and before he could do anything, Ardya had cast an Ani Don on it. It was almost dead, in fact, so close he could...

Nemorac wasn't sure why he was doing this, but he rushed the Golbin, raising his staff high. The Goblin retaliated, raising its weapon as well. The sword and staff clashed, sending sparks and both of their arms back. Nemorac recovered first, and smacked it clear across the face, damaging it very slightly, but enough to cause it to fall over, dead. Nemorac stood up, and nodded in satisfaction.

"Well, that was certainly a good warm-up fight. I say we wait until both our SP reserves are full before continuing. So, care to join me?"

As he said this, Nemorac found a nearby tree and slumped against it. Normally, he would have sat on the grass, but due to the rain, he didn't feel like doing so. So, here he was, resting against a tree. It wasn't even a particularly big tree, but it was big enough to at least have decent space for the two of them. He looked up at the rain, imagining how much it might look like an anime scene, him up against a tree, looking up at the rain. All he needed now was a near-fatal would and the scene would be complete. Oh, and Adrya would have to be some major love interest or something along those lines. However, that wasn't what was going on, so he needed to remove those thoughts from his mind.

Adrya - May 10, 2010 11:55 PM (GMT)
She smiled as she watched her new friend hit the monster over the head. It fell over and died, giving this whole situation a comedic feel. It was funny how wavemasters were pathetically weak with their physical attacks, so by Nemorac defeating the monster so easily was rather ironic for the creature. She chuckled softly as she rubbed the body of her wand with her thumb, her skin skipping along the body of the weapon because of the rain water that rested upon it. She blinked a few times then, remember where exactly they were. It was a thunder based field, so of course there was going to be rain pouring down.

Bringing her hand to her head, she could feel her hair plastered onto her face from the moisture, and tiny droplets of water running down her nose and cheeks. In real life, Bethany never liked being stuck out in the rain. It was always a miserable experience for her. She only wanted to get wet when she felt like it, but right now, she didn't care much. Probably because it was a virtual world. But, at the same time, this world felt to real. She could have sworn she could feel the rain drops tapping the top of her head, or even the water running down her finger tips. Smiling faintly to herself, she looked up into the sky, enjoying being stuck in the middle of a rain storm for the first time.

"Well, that was certainly a good warm-up fight. I say we wait until both our SP reserves are full before continuing. So, care to join me?"

His question brought Adrya out of her thoughts. Looking over to the fellow wavemaster, she watched as he stepped under a large tree and then sat down. Nodding she walked over beside him and sat down as well, bringing her knees to her chest. The only bad thing about being in the rain was that you get cold quickly. She could feel her body begin to tremble and goosebumps begin to rise on her skin.

“I'm glad you decided to sit down,” she said as she looked over to him, “I was thinking the same thing. We can take this time to get to know one another and become friends. I wouldn't want to just come out into the field and then never hear from you again, you know?” She grinned, bearing her white teeth enthusiastically. This was the best Bethany had felt in a long time. While the friends she had on here were nice and comforting, it was nice to meet new people. It was like taking in a breath of fresh air. It was a different feeling, a nice feeling.

She rested against the large tree, taking in deep, relaxing breaths as she looked forward. The one thing Adrya loved about rain and storms was that she loved watched the actual event take place. She would become excited whenever a storm was coming around when she was younger, and it was no different now. It was so pretty in her opinion.

“So, lets get the basics out of the way,” she said, “How long have you been playing the game? For a while? Just start?”

Secretly she worried she was being a nuisance with the silly questions, but she really wanted to know. She enjoyed getting to know the people around her, despite her normally shy attitude.

Nemorac - May 13, 2010 04:09 AM (GMT)
Nemorac's thoughts of the situation being slightly anime-like ceased when Adrya started asking questions. He had to stifle a laugh. After all, he had thought of doing something similar once she had gotten settled. Still, she had asked a fairly simple question, so it deserved an answer, and, to him, a bit of an explanation.

"I've been playing for a little while, off and on. Obviously not enough to get many levels, but enough to know my way around. In a way, I feel more at ease playing games like this than being in real life. Of course, there are things I prefer about real life too, don't get me wrong."

Nemorac mused to himself that the last phrase he used was sort of a weird one. After all, from a logical standpoint it made little sense, and yet people understood exactly what was meant by it. It was just one of those phrases that had crept up in society and stayed there, he guessed.

Looking up at the leaves of the tree they were leaning against, he examined them with his eyes. They could almost be mistaken for the real thing: a deep green coloration, veins running through them, and they were glistening with moisture from the rain. He mused to himself how interesting it would be to see the leaves and the tree not as what they were supposed to be, but what comprised them: the code within, those sets of ones and zeroes, running in a loop in order to keep the illusion of a tree being where they were.

Looking down at Adrya, he smiled softly at her.

"So, what about you? You seem to know a bit about what you're doing, and you're higher level than me, so I'd assume you've been playing for at least a bit."

In games like this, one could never tell. There could be two people of equal level: one whom has been playing for only a month, and one who had been playing over a year or more. It all depended on how much time one devoted.
