Personality:
Player - Samuel, or Sammy as he prefers to be called, is a rather quiet person, preferring to be on his own in his apartment over going out and having fun with what little friends he has. He is tactless and has no use for subtlety. He can be rude, crude, and sometimes socially unacceptable, but that's because he doesn't understand, nor at times does he want to, the complexities and nuances that go with dealing with other people.

He is a geek as he spends his life sitting in front of his computer, and who can fault him? Due to a tragic problem at birth he was born paralyzed from the waist down. Having no legs he never learned to walk and has been confined to a wheel-chair for his entire life. This causes a few issues, namely being his anger towards life itself for giving him his crippled body, and because of that he has a great dislike for most every person that can walk, feeling he was cheated the god given right that everyone else seems to enjoy so much.

Sammy can be a bit harsh when dealing with other people, and is usually shunned by them because of his harsh views on life. This tends to make him very secluded, very anti-social, and very sarcastic, making it near impossible for him to make friends, but he has a few and they like to keep him in good health, and as much as he resents this show of pity he secretly appreciates the unconditional friendship he has with them, although he wont ever admit that openly.

Character - Phantom is a lot like Sammy, anti-social, but not nearly as bad. He still prefers to spend his time alone as opposed to being surrounded by people, but he finds a strange comfort in being part of a group that he feels he can trust. He does have a more care-free take on life while in The World, and absolutely loves the fact that he can walk and run and jump, everything he couldn't do in life he can do in The World.

Phantom does tend to be more social in and of the fact that he will actually spend small amounts of time each day getting into places where people congregate and try to make new friends, something he would never do in real life. He is still sarcastic, and often blunders into social mistakes do to a lack of practice using social skills, and often mistakes sarcasm and rude comments as nothing more then polite conversation.

Writing Sample: Sammy sighed and sat in front of his computer at the closing of another boring listless day, the sun showing faintly through the holes in his curtain. Sammy cursed silently as he noticed the horrible glare the setting sun cast on his monitor and moved his wheel-chair over to the window. In anger he grabbed the curtain and yanked only to succeed in pulling himself out of his chair.

He lay on the floor for a while, although since Sammy didn't particularly care what time it was he wasn't sure as to how long he spent on the floor. His body shook with barely controlled anger, his fists balled and tears flowed from his clenched eyes. "How many more days will i spend in the blasted chair? How much more will i have to endure before i can finally walk?" he asked aloud and was surprised when a voice responded.

"As long as it takes for the doctors to find a way to get the muscles in your back to work right." A soft melodious voice sounded from behind him. Sammy gasped and violently wiped away the tears from his face and he turned to glare at the young woman that had entered his apartment. He noticed a thin figure, her golden blond hair stretching to just bellow her waist, he vibrant blue eyes shimmering with slight tears as a look of profound pity and sadness flashed in her pupils.

Sammy growled silently and pulled himself into his chair. "What do you want Alexis?" He asked in a gruff and rather rude tone. He didn't understand why this girl always insisted on staying in his apartment with him, although she always informed him it was because she loved him and just wanted to make him happy. Sammy refused to believe this do to the fact that no one could love a crippled monster like him, but he had learned to put up with her as he must.

"Well, today is your birthday and all, and i wanted to surprise you and get you something you could truly enjoy." She said, a grin spread tentatively across her face as she held out a carefully wrapped package to Sammy. "Happy birthday my love." She said and he took the package.

"Honestly i don't see what you could get me that could ease the frustration and annoyance i call life," He said in a voice that practically dripped sarcastic anger. When he got the package opened he looked at a game, "Whats this?" He asked, looking up at Alexis.

"Well, i know you have always wanted to find out what its like to walk," She started explaining, not realizing that this made Sammy angrier then he was. Sammy hated to be reminded that he was impaired, that he was a useless waste of a life in his own mind, and would instantly get more frustrated and angry at the mention of said deficiency.

"Yeah and what? You thought that i could get a game and it would make me forget my problems? What is this anyways?" He asked and looked at the box the game came in. He rolled his eyes and threw the game at the wall, "I don't need another freaking game, i have a crap load of them," He said and motioned towards a wall full of different games. "Whats this one got that the others don't?" He asked and glared at Alexis.

A small sob escaped the girls lips as tears started to show. "I was just trying to make you happy," She cried and ran out of the living room and into her room. Sammy sighed and rubbed his head. He didn't like upsetting her, really he didn't. She was just so thoughtless sometimes, but better to try and patch things over rather then sit there and brood. He silently wheeled himself to the game, picked it up and started his registration. He typed in a user name, went through the various classes to learn about each before finally choosing on the twin blade class. He slipped the headset into a comfortable position and entered The World for the first time.

Sammy opened his eyes slowly and looked around at the amazing wonders that the world had to offer. He stared in all directions marvelling about how realistic everything looked, and took an involuntary step forward. He stopped and looked down in amazement; he was standing. He took a few tentative steps forward, his equilibrium adjusting quickly enough although he was still more then a little shaky.

Slowly he started to grin, a sense of excitement rising in his chest and he took off running. "Oh great gods this is so amazing!" He yelled and started jumping in a circle. He passed a pair of people who stared at him in shock at his apparent random antics. "My friends, isn't walking great?" Sammy, now Phantom, asked and the two people nodded before hurrying off.

Sammy sighed in content just as someone tapped him on the shoulder. He turned and saw a female warrior standing in front of him. "Hello, i am assuming you just joined?" she asked and Sammy nodded. "Then follow me please." she said and took him to the weapons and armor shops to pick out his supplies. Once this was done she nodded, bid him fair-well and left him to his own devices.

You've got a few capitalization and punctuation errors (check your first person pronouns and the transitions between speech and narration), and one "its" that should be an "it's." However, that's just some notes for you to work on as you continue to write.

Welcome to the World!

...oh, and you do know that Twin Blades wield weapons closer in size to knives than anything, right?
