Clothing: Kaoru's clothing is actually very simple compared to most. He wears a lose red yukata that has its hem folded up so that it comfortably covers his knees but reveals his shins. A black obi encircles his thin waist and holds the yukata closed in place. The sleeves are shorter than the typical yukata, if only because he prefers them in this style. Instead of shoes, he wears the wooden sandals with two black straps that slip over the tops of his feet. His only notable accessory is a single silver anklet worn around his left ankle. In the picture below, you see his hair being held up in a ponytail but actually, he wears his hair down.

Personality:
Player - The Kaoru of the real world is somewhat shy and distant in nature. If one makes the effort to try and warm up to him, then they'll find he can be very friendly. More often than not, he tends to keep to himself and prefers isolation. There are rare moments where he wishes he had the courage to make new friends. But something always holds him back.
Character - Within the game, Kaoru is far more social and friendly, talking to whomever decides to approach him. Even if no one notices him, he pretends to be cheerful and content, though he really wants to hang out with someone. His strongest trait is probably his overwhelming urge and desire to help anyone who needs it, regardless if he's involved with them or not. There is perhaps a good measure of determination inside him as well.

Armor:
Head – Bandanna [Repth/10SP]
Arm – Wrist Bands [Juk Rom/10SP]
Body – Leather Coat [Gan Zot/20SP]

A harsh and irritating noise suddenly errupted in the small college dorm room. It startled Kaoru enough to completely arrouse him from his slumber. He quickly reached out a hand to turn off the blaring alarm clock. As his fingers hit the button on top, silence finally returned only to be followed by a heavy sigh from the teenager. The time displayed on the clock told him it was 10:45 in the morning. But it was the weekend and therefore, he had no classes to attend.

"Great... just great. I could have slept in and skipped dealing with another pointless morning. Just didn't remember to turn the alarm off before going to bed last night. Damn it...", grumbled Kaoru, burying his face into his pillow once more.

Eventually, he realized he wouldn't be able to fall asleep again. He didn't exactly feel like just laying in bed all day either so he decided to get up and start his morning routine. After selecting his clothes for the day, he changed out of his nightware, which was thrown into the hamper at the end of the bed. Kaoru dressed himself before making his way over to his mirror. His long raven black hair was messy and probably tangled in several places.

The teenager reached over to retrieve a brush from his desk. Gripping its plastic handle tightly, he began the troublesome task of straightening out his hair. It was always such a pain in the ass. But he was always reluctant to chop it off as well. His hair had become a metaphorical curtain of which he had grown used to hiding behind whenever he felt uncomfortable. Ten minutes passed and Kaoru finished working his long raven locks. He looked in the mirror to check his appearance.

Reflected in the mirror's silver surface was a young man with a very pale complexion and darkened features. Waves of black hair spilled over his shoulders, down his back. Their collective ends reached his hips. His eyes were an almost winter sky grey with small flecks of blue melded into them. At times, most people couldn't distinguish whether they were blue or grey and it was assumed they were the more natural color of captivating blue. Pale skin that had been untainted through countless hours devoid of sunlight shone with an irredescent brilliance, even in the soft golden light of the dorm room. Truly, Kaoru could be considered a creature of mysterious beauty.

"Hmm, I suppose that's good enough.", he muttered to himself whilst setting the brush back on the desk.

The teenager already had an idea of what to do now that he was ready for the day to begin. He made sure he had his room key on him before leaving the dorms and starting on the short walk towards the mall outlet that was just a few streets over from the college he was attending. Any of the few friends he possessed were probably out and about, already enjoying their weekends without him. Unless they had been given the chance to sleep in, of course. For some reason, he didn't feel like calling any of them to check.

Kaoru crossed the parking lot in front of the mall and entered through the doors, taking a brief moment to enjoy the air conditioning that washed over him. Though he didn't stand still for long, in case there were other people coming in behind him. The poor boy just wasn't one to handle any form of confrontation. He started walking in the direction of the food court. When he arrived, the only thing he got for himself was a soda. After sitting down at a completely vacant table that was far away from the main walk ways of the mall, he began a rather strange activity; people watching.

His grey-blue eyes carefully scanned over each person who happened to pass by the food court. Though his gaze was scrutinizing, he appeared as though he was utterly disinterested in anything within the world around him. This was yet another one of his developed talents. The ability to display whichever emotion he wanted to while feeling something totally different on the inside. He could hide himself behind a mask and no one would ever even know. It also helped that no one had managed to grow close to him, close enough to see the real him.

'This is... pathetic. I really need to find a hobby. Or at least something that I can do in my spare time.', Kaoru thought silently to himself as he took a long sip of his soda before setting it down again.

Just then, a pair of young boys passed by within his range of sight. They were young, probably not even in their teens yet. One of them, the slightly taller of the two, was holding something in his arms. It was a large box. The boy's friend was looking at it excitedly as they walked together. His curiostiy now activated, the college student slowly narrowed his eyes so that he could read the writing printed on the box. He was partially surprised to discover that what was contained within was a new game called, The World. A small gasp escaped Kaoru's mouth as he quickly stood up, smiling immediately afterward.

'That's it! I can play a game in my spare time. Maybe even that online game... The World. At least other people can't see the real me in something like that.', he realized.

Kaoru grabbed his soda and moved to leave the food court, trashing his beverage in one of the garbage bins. He made a metaphorical bee line for the gaming store, eager to find The World. Upon entering the shop, he came almost face to face with a large display for the very game he was after. It was still a fairly new release and there were still quite a few copies left. Fortunately, the price wasn't overly exspensive and was affordable to him. After collecting one of the boxes for himself, the boy made his way over to the counter to make the purchase.

The walk home from the mall was one that he was happy to make, despite having to carry his newly discovered treasure beneath one arm. He carefully desposited the box on his bed so that he could dig his labtop out of his school bag. For the next half hour, Kaoru installed the game and read the manual while waiting for everything to upload and connect. This was such a welcomed change from his normal way of life. No longer was he bored or lonely, but instead eager to start something new and exciting. The World wasn't just some game but a game that he could play with other people, perhaps even make some new friends.

"This is going to be great...", the teenager mused softly to himself, smiling once more.

Ending Note: This is the second character of Light Lavastine. -^ ^-
