Title: How's it goin', guys?

nighthand - September 22, 2009 05:32 PM (GMT)
What's up? How are all of you? I keep signing on and seeing no one online. Sure, it's early in the morning (noon) but hey.

I'm wondering. What're you all up to these days? Tell me about your life. Or just your plans for your character. Or anything else you want to talk about. Oh and if you want to drop suggestions for the site, go ahead. =D

How's it going?

Stane - September 22, 2009 08:31 PM (GMT)
I'm pretty busy, at least this week. Got a huge program due on Thursday, Test in history based on complete memorization of 30 terms (there's a list of a random 10/30, define, explain significance ><), a test in that same programming class probably using a whole bunch of vocabulary I don't know since I haven't been reading the textbook since it's not written to be understood, and of course Marching Band. But drumline is the fun part of course. The directions for the program are so vague, but in sections, strangely specific. Ugh, it's a big pain. Just want thursday to be over.

Been listening to a lot of "Minus the Bear." the past few days. Sort of like if Wintersleep was indie.

Stane is going to start a fresh quest with Nemmy whenever this wave of stuff passes by. This semester is really easy, but for some reason, it hit the fan this week. Anyway, off to work on some program/studying.

Oh yeah, and HEROES this week was good, I thought. I like the way the characters ended up, especially Mr. Bennett, since his motivations used to contradicted themselves. Probably one of the worst designs for a character ever - that is, if they bothered to think it through and actually "design."

I'll be on for another season, at least. The crap they pulled with the Peter/Nathan/Sylar fight in the season finale where they showed Claire behind the door nearly shut me off to the entire series on the spot.

Damek - September 22, 2009 10:49 PM (GMT)
School is devouring me, per the usual, but it's pretty fun. I've been trying to get some stuff written up for the site (Fayre and I are in the midst of planning a quest, and I'm looking to plan a new solo), but it's all taking a back burner. I already have my first major projects in most of my classes, and I've got some story boards due tomorrow... that I should really get done.

I miss it here ;_;. Student council is eating the time that school doesn't take, and I just got a one shift a week job. It won't be easy, but nothing is.

Hopefully I can make a victorious comeback soon! I check the site every day still ;_;

You should tell a little somethin' about your life, night, since you're trying to get all of us talking.

Shenmock - September 23, 2009 12:16 AM (GMT)
I'm being overloaded with homework and projects and...yeah, stuff. ;-; *should really be tackling other stuff right now* As of late I've been really stressed out and honestly haven't had much time to write or do much of the stuff I did so much of last year and the year before that. D: Last year felt like cakewalk compared to this year...

Anyways, yeah, stressed and loaded with stuff that I'm honestly not enjoying in the slightest bit. Once I get the hang of things, I'll probably be able to be online more often, but school's my first priority nowadays, so... >.>

Savior X - September 23, 2009 01:05 AM (GMT)
School isn't taking up too much of free time, thankfully. However, most of my left over free time is taken over by various other things.

I'm currently trying to set up my schedule so I can graduate a year early from college with my Bachelor's Degree and then move on to start my Master's. So, doing all the grad school application stuff is loads of fun >__>

On top of that, I have several coding projects that I am working on-and-off on, one of those being Project "Online", which I've come back to today and make some great strides on. =D

Takua - September 23, 2009 01:10 AM (GMT)
Hmm...

Writing has been difficult as of late. My will to sit down and just write for a few pages has diminished unless I'm inspired for something and can control my ADD enough to keep away from the net. That said, I keep getting ideas for my characters...they just tend to be far in the future, which doesn't really help me for the right now.

School promises to be interesting, if I can get over my reservations and actually make friends. New school in Junior year in a new state and nobody that I know around makes things difficult, what makes things even more difficult is my difficulty with making friends. Got a few hopes though, although I find it funny that most of the people that I've been meeting have been girls and not guys. My roommate is Korean and can speak some English, but his accent is such that I can barely understand him most of the time.

All I need is a job and some friends. I'm taking 17 units on a quarter system, so this fall quarter is probably going to be rather busy. Especially since one is a foreign language and another is Stats. (Boo, math)

On the other hand, I just got a new computer, which means that I can play games again. You have no idea how happy this makes me.

nighthand - September 23, 2009 01:39 AM (GMT)
The gist of it all, I'm getting, is SchoolSchoolSchool. I remember those days....

Having recently graduated, I find myself wondering what the hell to do all day. My major got me exactly zero job offers, and so far every application I've sent out has either been stamped denied or (more often) simply falls into a black hole.

So basically I sit at home all day. I script with Mainers and the ECers who need it. I play a lot of games. I send out applications when I can be bothered to care, but the longer I go the more it's looking like unemployment is the way to go. I cook, I clean, I watch some anime when I feel like it. Catching up on Naruto at the moment.

Dungeon Fighter Online is pretty sweet. Streets-of-rage-style fighting game, only MMO with rpg leveling up and quests. Open Beta just came out today, though I've been playing since closed beta.

Hanging with friends, chilling with my girlfriend, other than that... my life is empty and void. I'm basically living vicariously through the internet at this point.

Sekai - September 23, 2009 01:51 PM (GMT)
Starting my training for work tomorrow afternoon. I'm seriously hoping that, you know, having a job again will break the block I've been in for 10 months now and let me write again. At the very least, it'll give me something to do and get me out of the house long enough for me to breathe and focus on things other than how many brick walls I keep slamming my head into.

Character wise, got two of my main character's Einherjar for her hack completed- just need to think of how/what I need to do in order to recruit them- and have a solo planned out. My secondary... eh, xD she needs to be written on at some point, just like some others on different sites.

Damn you writer's block! >.<

Jpec07 - September 23, 2009 04:22 PM (GMT)
Of course I'm busy hiding behind an away message, but it seems that even when I come out from behind it, the only people who actually contact me are friends from home who are sad that I didn't get to hang out with them last time I was there.

I still frequently check the sites (here and main), even though the overwhelming majority of my checks reveal that, indeed, no new posts have happened on either site. So my inactivity wears on. I suppose I could script with Nighthand and finish off this segment of the boss fight, if I was ever in a scripting mood when we're both online.

School's going relatively well. As of yet, I'm pretty much on top of my assignments, and am overall doing well. Maybe that's why I haven't been posting as much?

Haven't been following Heroes since the whole Maya-Suresh affair of a while ago. That much proved to me that the authors didn't have an end in mind when they started writing, and produced a distaste in my mouth for the series. LOST is so much better because of that...

I picked up the new Halo game yesterday and spent the day playing through the campaign. It was good.

As far as Dien goes, I've got the solo for his hack drop planned out, and could probably start writing now if I felt motivated to. Venus...yeah, I'm waiting on someone to post on her current quest to get her moving again. I dunno, her character feels more like something that I want to turn into a novel than something I want to quest with...

Still single, but it's stopped bothering me as much now.

Fayre - September 23, 2009 06:33 PM (GMT)
Like most, I am being eaten by university. It's pretty awesome, though. Decided to move into res this year and it's great. Damek came to visit me last weekend and can attest to the prettiness of my campus. The only problem with res life is meeting too many new people...I was super nervous that I wouldn't make friends before coming, but it has been quite the opposite. I am not used to having so much to do. Extracurriculars are great too. It's going to be a good year. <3 Y'know, as long as I don't forget that I have plenty of readings and assignments to do too. XD

And yes, as Damek said, we are in the process of planning a quest! We are still around! I do frequently check Divvy. I might also start a solo, y'know, in my masses of free time.

Bane - September 23, 2009 10:31 PM (GMT)
Let's see...

For me it boils down to sorting out myself in terms of relationships, as well as studying for final exams and alike for school. While I'm currently on break, there have been more pressing matters to attend to such as medical related issues for family matters.

Then there is the game folio I'm preparing for my college interview, so...that's why I've been a little inactive as of late. I plan to resume things here within the comming days, as I'm currently investigating something like dad used to, and that means a lot of waiting.

Adrya - September 23, 2009 11:10 PM (GMT)
School. School. And more school.

Barely any time on my hands from art projects... Sometimes being a art major sucks...a lot.

Isato - September 24, 2009 12:58 AM (GMT)
C# socket network chat stream chaos chaos chaos ... software pre-defence final project is in 28minutes - bye

-Bane thanks for finally grading =P

Bane - September 24, 2009 01:01 AM (GMT)
I'm grading all of them where they are up to, that's my job for this morning. I did a count of how much EXP I had stored up and from one match I had 18 EXP just waiting for me. @_@

So...um...Yay for TCG? The tournament will be my job for the afternoon just cause.

Hyruji - September 25, 2009 02:05 PM (GMT)
I have to agree when it comes to school. School eats up the morning while work eats up the night. At least school is only monday through friday but work is open 7 days a week and I never know when I work.

Blargh, it's hard to plan shit. Right now I got out of class early, but I'm taking a break from the project that's due later today for my Multimedia Authoring class. Ugh.

I have a lot of plans for Hyru, as well as a few other characters on a Naruto site and just no time. T-T Makes me sad.

PS. Sorry Adrya!

Centrus - September 25, 2009 04:46 PM (GMT)
As Hyruji put it, Blargh.

As with most of you, school eats up about half of my time, and the other half is consumed by going to the job I have while I still have it or looking for a new one. Our corporate managers decided that the position I hold is unnecessary for the restaurant to run fluidly, so they cut it in all 18 stores. Worst idea ever, but my managers are the stubborn fools who won't change their minds once they see that they're wrong.

I still check in here at least three times a day, though. For some reason, the "remember me" function of the site has set me to anonymous viewing, even when I log out and uncheck that. But I'm here, I'm always here, and I'm working on back story for both my character and the clan. Finishing that seems to be more of a problem than work or school! =P These things come in time, right?

Good luck with job training, art majors, and job hunting everyone.

Stane - September 25, 2009 05:19 PM (GMT)
QUOTE (Centrus @ Sep 25 2009, 12:46 PM)
has set me to anonymous viewing

It does that for me too, when it's the first time I've checked the homepage, navigating from somewhere else. After I surf at least once, I'm on the list. Probably makes it look like less people are checking on the site, since most of you zoom the homepage for any new posts then leave, assuming that that problem is universal.

MY PROJECT IS OVERRRR WHOOOO! As well as astronomy test and history test :3. I do have a CSC test on tuesday, but it's open-note and open-internet! The linear algebra test on thursday will have to be studied for...that class is so useless.

For those wondering what linear algebra is like:
"Hey, look at these matrices and look what I can do!"
"Whoa, interesting. Do it again!"
"Hey! Again! I wrote down this complicated algorithm of how to make it look like that! I have a ton more - let's make a whole class!"
"What good do the algorithms do?"
"NOTHING!"
"Well, I don't mean in real-life, I mean in math's terms."
"NOTHINGGGGGG!"
"Well...what about linear algebra's terms?"
"NOTHINGGGGGGGGGGG!"

*facepalm*

nighthand - September 25, 2009 05:49 PM (GMT)
Gotta love worthless classes.

I HAVE noticed a lot of people being set to anonymous browsing for one reason or another lately. Though, I can still see you guys, you just show up with a * next to your name. <3 Adminship.

I feel like I should start some minor event in the absence of Lyra and the low population. Something that doesn't take a lot of effort to participate in. Something without strict time constraints, something you don't need to write a 50 page post for.

*Thinks*

Stane - September 25, 2009 09:17 PM (GMT)
Oooh! We could do a "King of the Hill" event where everyone teleports to the same field and tries to climb on top of a huge mountain/plateau/castle, pushing and fighting everyone else down. Free for all!

Lyra - September 25, 2009 11:05 PM (GMT)
I'm now working a 40 hour a week job, a 4-16 hour a week job, and attending 12 hours of school plus the associated homework. I also have a 10 month old puppy who's been getting an increasing bratty streak in her and so is taking up a fair chunk of my free time; the rest is spent trying to sleep and trying to write again. With occasional Halo, as explosions help me feel good.

My poor car is dying. The engine is officially trying to fall out. I get to start searching for a new one this weekend. Which reminds me, I have a parking ticket to pay soon.

I'm also finally getting over a severe amount of emotional turmoil. Oh joy. On the bright side of that, I'm single now in case anyone's been harboring feelings for me lol.

I still don't know exactly when I'll be back for reals, sorry guys. Soon I hope. At least I finally feel like I can come back.

I'll read up on everyone else this weekend. Right now I wanna catch a couple hours of nap before class.

Watorie - September 26, 2009 07:11 AM (GMT)
HELLO! I'M ALWAYS HERE! XP lol
I'm online whenever possible, I'm just not on this site 24/7.

My lie cosists of wake up, get online or on DS for a few hours, go ot work, come home, make dinner, computer and DS again, then sleep and repeat.... the monotony is only broken by my nice RP's.

-_- the one on this site is just the one that I'M STILL WAITING FOR REPLYS TO! GRRR! lol. but either way, still here and not leaving quite yet... if ever! 8D

Solarius Raine - October 3, 2009 06:02 PM (GMT)
Well, after a long absence consisting of work/school/lack of creativity, I finally return. I just work now, so I'm not so bogged down by everything that writing feels like a chore, which is good. *thumbsup*

I've already begun work on my next thread, so there's no lack of creativity, here. Hope to see you all around.

Solarius

So...

It's been a while since I posted anything (I do believe the last time I worked on my most recent story was sometime mid-to-late February). With that in mind, I welcome you to

My Life In Brief: The Past 8 Months

"What do you mean you're cutting full-time hours?"
"Sorry [Whirlpool-appliance-guy], I just got promoted to MIT (That's "Manager-in-Training", not the university). But I'm still interested in sales, so keep me in the loop, if you can."

"God I hate this job."
"<sarcasm>INVENTORY! WOO!!</sarcasm>"
"The management team and I don't feel like you're worth what we're paying you."
"R.I.P. Aunt B."

"AH! MY COMPUTER EXPLODED!!!"
"Here's my two-weeks notice. I'm going to take some time away and re-focus my efforts on school. (a.k.a. - SCREW YOU! XO)"
"Ah, a new laptop to replace my super-huge-box-of-doom... I swear I'll get you fixed, SHBOD, when StarCraft II comes out."

"What do you mean I have to re-take English 1A?"
"Man... I have a lot of free time, now..."
"Look at all these games I still need to beat. @_@"
"I want to write... oh wait, my story is on J.D. (my dead computer)"

"*twidles-thumbs*"
"*reads*"
"*beats games he's had for the better part of a year.*"
"*bids WAY too much money on e-bay for vintage games*"

"Hmm... I hope DIV hasn't deleted my account... I DO want to get back to that story as soon as I harvest the HDD out of my SHBOD."
"Oh hey, 'How's it goin', guys?' Neat!"

I realize this thread has been dead for the better part of a week, but so what? =P

Haha! Yeah, ask Lights about that, at least he's been posting regularly on Main, so maybe he has some cash he can float you to complete your interest. = P The banks were a joint effort afterall. ^^;;

As for dead-ness... As soon as I rip my now-dead computer open and pull the HDD out I should be able to get access to the quest I started a year ago. Then I can pull out the notes I have for it and continue writing. So that'll be at least one person doing something. >_>;;
