Title: Understandng PKs
Malcanhex - September 4, 2009 07:33 AM (GMT)
So, in order to understand the full scope of PKs I need to know the group that comes after them and what exactly they do in general.
I am not looking to make a career out of it, but in order to allow my character's "dream of becoming the greatest PVP/PK" burn down horribly in flames, I need to know the dark path that this will lead him.
Without this, his story is useless. But no worries. He is not going to become a PK, and he will be fighting against them in the end of the first three chapters or so. I Just need info, or the link there to.
Thnx,
Malcnhex

You're not allowed to crash another quest and PK another RPC. If you want to kill someone, talk it out with them.
There's no rule about killing other players inside the game as long as they're not an RPC. So, NPCs are fair game (NPC in that they're not the character gaining rewards, levels, etc. So, an important person in your story or the nameless loser that you PK when he's level 1 are both NPC, Solar is not.) (Yeah, that might have been obvious, but it's amazing what some people don't get) and you're allowed to PK, or get PK'd, by them as many times as you want.
Keep in mind though, that if you PK enough and create a big enough disturbance, the Cobalt Knights, or another Admin-affiliated group, is likely to come down on you like a ton of bricks. Although you can't control said group, you can ask an admin if you can use them in a quest and run your ideas past them.
Or so I think, I'm not an admin after all XD

Eh... there's probably a few different trains of thought on this. I've actually PK'd multiple players on various quests. Just because I could <.<

Yes, but you don't count.
On most points, refer to Takua's explanation. If you plan on being a jerk, do what Slicer there did and take a whole bunch of newbs into a quest. PK them at the end. Then, listen to me rant about PKing newbs.
Tak has it right in most aspects. If you have any further questions, you can continue to ask here or PM/IM me.

Cool, makes sense I've dealt with the jerks in RL games, I know the want to have them removed.
So, then I guess, if the character happens to PK a ton (Used as plot motive), and ends up under the notice of the Admins, would be then able to work on a plot to for...
Hang on, let me explain this grand plan. Any comments, critique is welcome, just make it constructive. I'm not a big fan of, "Oh, that sounds cool dude," or "Dude that is a stupid idea." Lol.
Solar is fascinated with the PK/PVP idea. That said he is wanting to venture into it, but leery as to the actual World view, and response to such an act, or even career.
The Current thread I am working on, he will be lead to this path via taking out an obviously younger player without realizing it. From there, he will be on the run and become introduced to a couple of extremely powerful, if not "hacked characters"; not actually being hackers themselves.
The end of this story path will be him discovering some dark secret that the two players have, and realizing the full scope of their PK escapades!
I would love for the Cobalt Knights to more, or less come and go as they please without my prior knowledge. It would be role play aspect worth the time, at least in my eyes, lol.
If a player, or players are interested, I will get into another discussion for that somewhere else. Just PM if you wish as players. But, Admins, as for the Cobalt Knights and such, I would like to request some help. Centrus, would it be safe to assume that just pm a link to the thread to a mod would allow for a heads up on whether I am going to be doing some PKing would suffice to allow for some "administrative butt-kicking!"?
Any way, its a huge story plot and I have time. but I would love for this to keep going so that I can get the board's point of view on the situation, and more over, ensure that this is an alright path to tread in the eyes of the Administration.

Eh, I've done that (though it wasn't just Kae's first PK that was accidental, it was nearly every one) and I haven't had a problem with the board admin ((Just some NPC other players, but that's half the fun I think)) so sounds like you should be okay.
