Title: Shadows From A Forgotten Past
Description: [Lv. 8 Darkness Field][Solo Quest]

Archangel - August 18, 2009 01:09 AM (GMT)
Jason came to his room and noticed a disc sitting on top of his book shelf by one of his anime models. He only noticed it because the Sun pouring through his Computer Room's Window was reflecting off the disc. Jason walked into the room and then lowered his hand to the disc and lifted it up. Then turned his wrist to see the other side of the disc. He read the title of the disc and it read, The World. Jason's eyes began to gleem with a forgotten excitement as he went to his computer and then lowered his hand to the disc drive button. He clicked it once and watched as it slid open, then he inserted the disc and clicked the button another time. Jason thought to himself as he watched the screen load up an all too familiar menu, Its been so long since I played this game, I wonder if I still got what it takes. Perhaps some of my old friends may be on... nah... its been way too long. I bet they are too busy with real life matters to play anymore.

Jason sulked a little as he recalled past quests and in-game memories that will never happen again, well at least not with the friends that he had once known. He looked to the screen and then said to himself, "Who cares if they aren't on anymore? It just means that I get to have more fun by myself!" He watched as various icons began to appear on his screen now and he quickly cycled past all the ones that dealt with news or discussion forums. He stopped on the one that said, Enter The World. Then double clicked on it with a quick succesive tap of his index finger on his right hand with the mouse. Jason then pulled out his VR Goggles as the game began to load his character who was once known as Faust.

Jason had created Faust a long time ago when he was younger and played the character out to be some sort of diabolical villian. He would kill innocent players of any shape or form just for laughs, kicks, and many other reasons. He would kill player characters on boh the fields and servers. He had even been exiled from a guild to which he may never return. Though somehow some players seemed to like his attitude as he seemed to have some ability to lead. Those that could get close enough to call him a friend had found him to have a softer side under his hard shell. Though he wasn't quick to show it to anyone and would try to hide it when it did become exposed. Such softness to him he felt was a weakness and would try to hide it when exposed.

Jason placed the VR Goggles over his head and picked up his controller with his right hand and then watched as the screen inside the goggles came to life. Jason found himself no longer in his computer room and no longer was he Jason. He watched as a group of blue rings appeared around him going up and down. Jason was no more and in his place a cloaked figure appeared by the Chaos Gate. The cloaked figure was no other than Faust. He had returned from his infinite slumber to slay once more in the name of darkness. The cloaked figure looked about from his black hood and then progressed down the stairs that led away from the Chaos Gate and into the Heart of Mac Anu.

He watched as various players scurried about him like the marching of many ants. He ignored them as they moved out of his way, not sure what to expect from the cloaked stranger. Faust himself wasn't even sure what he was looking for as he combed the cobblestone streets of the Server City. He thought he might see some familiar faces as he went from shop to shop or to hold hangouts. He went under the main bridge to the city that led away from the Chaos Gate, but found it devoid of activity. Faust thought to himself, Though the areas remain the same for the most part, time has left them empty of feeling, and left me full of regrets. I don't know why I stayed away so long, but even if all that is left for me in this place is the emptiness and lonliness I have always known, then I shall gladly welcome them once again as if they were old friends.

Faust turned 180 degrees with a quick pivot and let his cloak flail in the wind until it rested once more upon his body. Faust began to head towards the steps leading back up to the main road and walked slowly up them as he moved one foot in front of the other. Once he got to the top of the stairs he turned to the right to make his way back to the Chaos Gate. He stopped short as he watched what he thought was one of his old friends racing towards the Chaos Gate, but found it to be only an illusion created by his own head as the ghostly image faded into the nothingness from whence it sprang. Faust thought to himself, Perhaps its a sign that I may soon meet an old friend. Then again, it may be an omen signifying that I am truly forsaken and will never escape the lonliness that has always plagued me. I wonder what fate has in store for me? I guess only time will tell. Faust approached the steps leading up to the Chaos Gate and began to slowly make his way up them taking it a step at a time.
