Title: Writing chat?
Kae - June 18, 2009 11:28 PM (GMT)
Hey all.
I've been kicking around the idea of a weekly AIM chat where folks can get together and discuss aspects of writing, either their own, or in-game, or whatever. Was wondering if anyone here might be interested if it was implemented? And if so, would you prefer there be a general topic each time, or just talk about whatever the people who come in want to talk about?

I'm game for that.
We could see how having a specific theme would work or, during the first chat, brainstorm a list of things that we think could be "trouble" spots (like character development, inspiration, etc, etc) or just have a general "Anyone try this technique yet?" themed chat along with sharing something or other about what they're writing.
Either way, count me in on that!

I'd probably be interested in it. ^_^

Given that this is a community of writters, how would this be any different from most of the other conversations we hold while doing our writting?

I'm game for either general or topic'd chats, myself.

For some people, not much :) I personally don't often talk writing with people though, so for me, a specific time with that express purpose is important.
What time/day would be best for you all? I can't really do Tuesdays or Wednesdays, but whatever other day works for the majority would be fine

Most days are good with me, just gimme a time frame and I'll be sure I'm awake to jump on in.

I think this is a very neat idea! And I know I don't randomly chat about my writing, even when talking to people on divvy, but I would like to talk about it in a writing-specific environment. Weekday evenings for me are probably best, though I also admit I'll probably treat this as a casual thing that will be cool to do if I'm around when it's happening but I wouldn't rearrange my schedule for it.

Most days are good for me, too. My work days fluctuate, so.
LoneAngelic - June 24, 2009 08:22 AM (GMT)
I would show!
Because,I need the advice, badly...
*sulks*

I think its a decent idea, although the hard part is the same, getting people all together at one point to make it work.

If you guys want to and I'm online, invite me in. I suspect I could offer a little bit of advice here and there... you know, what with having a Bachelor's in Creative Writing.

So right now, I'm thinking 8:30-9 p.m. ish on Thursdays (Hopefully late enough to accomodate West-coast folks while being early enough that my old bones don't have to miss bedtime if things run long)
Thoughts? Non-NA folks? Good, bad, indifferent?
LoneAngelic - June 25, 2009 05:30 AM (GMT)
Hehe, I am never on until after 10:30 on a good day so....
I do not expect things to change for my needs thought, just sucks I wont be as involved.
I am in Ohio, don't know if that counts as the eats coast or not xD

Since I'm up practically all night (although that's changing...), it works well enough for me. I'm in.

I may have been dead to the internet for quite a while now, but I was also wondering if I could join in this wonderfulness.
Because that's how it looks. Wonderful. Simply mah-velous. :D
May I join in? I looked at the time, and I can make it in there just fine. Thank you.
Jpec07 - June 26, 2009 03:00 AM (GMT)
I think I'll take part. Send me an invite when it happens, yeah?
Magras - June 26, 2009 03:44 AM (GMT)
Drop me a line when they start up, too. I find myself interested in this as well.
