It has come to the attention of the staff of The World that many of its users are unaware of the real and imminent danger of velociraptors.

Therefore, we have decided that it is in the best interest of our members' real life safety to spread awareness of this threat.

Saturday, April 18th is Velociraptor Awareness Day. On this day, we will be dispersing literature regarding the danger of velociraptors, including how to recognize a velociraptor, what to do if you see a velociraptor, how to velociraptor-proof your home or neighborhood, and how to protect your family against velociraptor attacks.

We will also be running a simulated velociraptor attack as a training exercise in the root towns. There is no sign-ups for this event, as the velociraptor attacks will be random and without warning, just as a real velociraptor attack would be.

If you find yourself faced with a velociraptor or pack of velociraptors in one of the root towns today, consider yourself lucky. This is a valuable chance to train yourself on the proper techniques to survive a velociraptor attack, without having any danger to your real person as there would be in a real velociraptor attack.

Additionally, a special thread has been opened on the BBS for users to report real-life velociraptor attacks, as well as to discuss this event. Early warning is the only way to be truly safe during a velociraptor attack, so letting your neighbors know that you are dying from a velociraptor attack just might save their lives. Please use this thread well.

P.S. Please try to keep your use of weapons against the velociraptors to a minimum, as it will not properly train you for a real velociraptor attack. We highly doubt anyone actually knows MeRue Rom or Miu Lei, and even if you did, there's a chance velociraptors are too advanced to be susceptible to magic.
