Title: Adventure Carries 2 Blades
Description: Lunar_X - Locke [ In Progress ]

Lunar X - January 20, 2009 10:39 PM (GMT)
The Deadly Moth’s anatomy disintegrated in a mass of sketchy pixels as it was defeated. It had been the first of many monsters Lunar had ever defeated during his first excursion into The World. This he did not do alone, however. He had partied with a few players, most of which had high level characters and was working on their alts. This took part in an adventure within the most menial scenario just outside the main city, Mac Anu.

There were no dungeons involved, just a small field with creatures that would only attack you if you attacked them. So far he had encountered giant moth and angry grass, but it was all very trivial so far and even more so easy, mostly because there was a guy named Greg (A.K.A Terok01) who was a Blade Master and played as the main tank of the group. He took up most of the agro in battle so Lunar still had full health and was raring to continue.

As time went on, Lunar learned that the man already had a level 30 Whip Master (a toon in the image of a sensual woman) and that he was interested in making something completely different. He mentioned something about wanting to make something less frail and more about brute force. Lunar was still trying to figure why the guy would ever want to play a girl. His excuse was that, because he was a guy, he did not want to stare at a guy the whole time. Though the man looked extremely tough, Lunar_X sensed a desperate kid uncomfortable with his own masculinity. In a sense, Lunar was on the same boat only he was not desperate or sexually conflicting. So he decided to leave it at that and give the ‘man’ the benefit of the doubt.

This was his first day playing and he did not want to stop.

But the group adventure had ended as quickly as it began. “Hey nice work Lunar!” The Wave Master, second member of the party said to Lunar. She played the role of the healer of the group and smiled at the young man. Lunar_X nodded happily and complimented her as well. Her name was Cali_K1. She did not take part in much of the battles, but her concentration while using Repth was unmatched from what Lunar had seen, even at this level. She wore a scheme of red and yellow and her hair was purple. The purple locks matched the markings across her face and arms.

That was one thing Lunar_X noticed the most; everyone in this game seemed to have some form of marking and they were all different from each other. He wondered how much work the designers of The World put into designing the different symbols and assumed they had a complete category of artists specifically for adding the little extras for each character. Lunar had never chosen what markings his character had, but they were there as soon as he entered the world.

“Yeah man you did great for your first time!” The Blade Master added his own compliments, making the young man even more satisfied with his effort. Though he id not know how he would have acted if he had taken a lot of the damage, he was happy that people saw he was trying his best. “But you definitely need to learn how to use the Twin Blades better.” He smirked, not to insult him and Lunar agreed with him completely; this was his first time and he had only chosen the Twin Blade because he looked really cool. He had never done any research on how to use them or what their main qualities were.

“You should send a message to this guy I’ve heard about. Dunno if he’s on…Baron. That’s his name!” The three of them walked on the path back to Mac Anu. “Yeah, add him to your friends and I’m sure you’ll get some results.” He informed Lunar with a smile and went on his. The female wave-master waved him off and went in her own direction.

Hi my name is Lunar and I was wondering if you'd be interested in taking part in a dungeon or two with me. They say you're the best. If you're interested just meet me at the center. I'd like to go to the Ä Hidden Passed Over Sea of Sand if you'd like to join me this afternoon. Just let me know and we can set up a time!

The sun showed bright over the stream of Mac Anu. Lunar_X wrote the message, standing aimlessly at the entrance of Mac Anu, just off the side of a bridge. As he wrote it, he directed his eyes towards his own reflection and grinned at the two blades that displayed proudly across his arms. Once he sent the letter, he prepared to go for a walk to the local pawn shop and see what he could find. Little did he know his message would be answered almost immediately after it was sent.

Ho boy, looks like someone's giving you a wrong impression or doesn't know many other players. Either way, it's nice to hear that I have some reputation either way. I suppose I wouldn't mind a quick run through a newbie field; after all, I was a newbie not terribly long ago myself! If you'd like, meet me at the Mac Anu Bridge and we can get going.

Lunar X grinned.

That sounds great. I appreciate the quick message back. I'm on my way there now so I'll talk to you soon. I'll try to keep out of your way and learn as much as I can. See ya soon!Don't forget the keywords Ä Hidden Passed Over Sea of Sand. I hear that's a pretty nice area. Guess we'll see.

He waited a moment for any new messages and decided his last message was as much closure as he could expect. Lunar_X imagined that his speed in answering letters matched the speed it took him to get from one place to another so he decided to increase his speed while making his way through Mac Anu and towards the center of the Chaos Gate.

Well, I’m bored.

Silver-gray eyes opened to catch the streaks of red-orange light that filled the sky, the never-ending sunset of Mac Anu greeting the owner’s vision. Baron looked up from his position atop a roof overlooking the large river flowing below, tracing the line of the water as it traveled through the city. Yawning lightly, glancing at his computer time to check the clock, the Twin Blade sat up, wondering what he was going to do with his day. He stood, brushing the dust off of his outfit as he glanced around his immediate area to see if anything interesting was going on. The usual stream of players going between the various areas in Mac Anu didn’t do much to keep his attention, so instead the Twin Blade started on a small walk across the rooftops, looking for the spot low enough that he could jump down and mingle with the various players of The World.

As he made his way through the streets, Baron absently scanned the various faces, trying to see if he could find anyone familiar. However, the mass of players didn’t see fit to give him someone to talk with, and in the end, the Twin Blade simply started on his way towards the Mac Anu Bridge, his usual hangout. People seemed to collect on the massive monument, providing plenty of opportunities for meeting new friends or overhearing the latest rumors. Of the two, Baron was more interested in the latter in the hopes of finding a rarity tucked away in some obscure field. His silver eyes sparkled with an excited amusement as his ears started picking up voices around him, and immediately he started sorting through conversations for news of anything interesting.

“Hey, what level are you now? I’ve been training all weekend but—”

“Yeah sure! I’d love to meet you. Which field again…?

“…that rare Twin Blade set in the field…”

Baron almost literally froze upon hearing the last comment, his ears tuning into the words and causing his curiosity to flare up immediately. Not only had a rare item found, but it was a set of Twin Blades too, which added to the value, figuratively and literally. The boy’s fingers twitched slightly as he anticipated his potential gain, something they hadn’t done in a while, not since word of strange occurrences from the BBS had caught his ear. He leaned against a nearby wall, acting casual, as if he were waiting for someone, and listened quietly to the conversation.

“Really? That’s a nice set of weapons. What did you say the field was? I’m sure my friend would like a set.”

“Ä Hidden Passed Over Sea of Sand, that’s where I found them. They were in the Gott Statue Chest.”

Baron had heard enough, and was already starting to head towards the Chaos Gate, his mind racing. A rare set of Twin Blades- if nothing else, he would have a nice trading chip, but at best he’d have a useful item that would be worth a good deal in future questing. Intrigued by the thought, the Twin Blade didn’t even notice that he had a message in his inbox until it beeped a second time in his ear as a reminder. Glancing up, he opened his message, wondering who was bothering him. He noticed the name, and realized that it wasn’t one he had heard before. Huh, that was odd…

Baron was tempted to say “Sorry, I’m busy” and delete the message when he noted the keywords listed in the message. For a moment he was intrigued- a new player who wanted to visit a basic field, one that happened to contain a rare set of blades that Baron was after. It was odd, though, how he had been named in specific, though the “they say you’re the best” made him laugh. It was nice to have a reputation, though he was sure it was a bit misinformed. Still… it was amusing, and the Twin Blade decided that he might as well go with it. He was going there anyway, so taking the newbie wouldn’t hurt his hunting. In fact, it would add to his appearance, so it was worth wasting a little time. He quickly sent a reply.

A reply came immediately from the excited beginner.

Guess we will…

Striding back to the bridge, Baron cast his gaze around the various members, targeting them to get their usernames, trying to find the newbie he had planned on dragging along. Soon enough he found the kid, Lunar_X. Not even pausing to say hello, the Twin Blade grabbed the newbie by the front of his shirt and turned, tugging him off towards the Chaos Gate.

“C’mon, kid. Name’s Baron, treasure hunter extraordinaire, I’m taking you to the newbie field, you get the idea. C’mon, let’s go.”
