Title: Holiday Shopping
Locke - December 29, 2008 01:16 AM (GMT)
Baron strode into the Pawn shop, setting a single item on the counter as he considered all of the items he was looking at off of the top of his head. Setting the head armor down, he tried to narrow his list down to fit his budget. He was starting to regret getting all of those Christmast presents, but it was the holiday for giving...
"Hey, anyone here? I needed to pick up a Lightning Cap, a Thunder Glove, and a Thunder Anklet. I have a Scarab Earring to trade in, and I'd like to know what the remaining balance is."
Gambit - December 29, 2008 01:24 AM (GMT)
The Long Arm yawned. "Well, let's see. Given the fact that you look like a shrewd businessman, I'll give you the tiptop on what I can for that Scarab set of yours. I don't dare try to hoodwink a man as... determined as you, sir. Now, that equipment that you're looking for is some pretty high-dollar gear. You sure I can't interest you in something that we have in stock? Maybe a nice Iron Anklet? No, I can see on your face that it just won't do. If you want it right now, that equipment's going to run you 16,500. If you want to wait a week, I can let it go for say...14,800."
He blinked twice.
"Unless you have something else to offer?"
Locke - December 29, 2008 01:28 AM (GMT)
Baron pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration. He knew that the transaction would be costly, but he didn't realize just how much so. Time to put a few more chips on the table.
"Well, I've got a few nice items for your viewing pleasure, all scrolls, so tell me what you think: A Summon Thunder scroll, a Cosmic Truth scroll, four Beast Banes, a Fire Tempest, an Ice Flow, four Raining Rocks, two Raging Earths, and a Plasma Storm. Those should lower the total significantly, right?"
Gambit - December 29, 2008 01:34 AM (GMT)
"Um. Yes. It should."
He quickly calculated cost for stocking, demand, and how foolish the child might be. Realizing that a fool doesn't get scrolls such as the first two offered, he sighed. Tossing that from his calculations, he renewed his efforts. Taking off his shoes so he could count on his toes, he came up with a new total.
"Well, with those added to the equation, I can give 'em to you know for 12,350. If you'd like to wait a week, I can hand 'em over for a mere 10,650. If you include your Member Address, I'll make it 10,500 even. What do you say?"
Locke - December 29, 2008 02:07 AM (GMT)
Baron sighed. Nope, not gonna be that easy, it seemed. Doing a few calculations of his own, tracing in the dust of the counter (he was sure Gambit was watching, but he ignored it)
"Okay, here's a few more things, if you're interested: 21 Resurrects and 5 Mage's Soul, as well as four Speed Charms, two Restoratives, an Antidote, and four Fortune Wires. What's the price if I get them now, with my Member's Address thrown in?"
Gambit - December 29, 2008 02:25 AM (GMT)
"Well, with all that in there, I'd be willing to let them go for 2,500 now, and 1,700 on the 5th."
Locke - December 29, 2008 02:29 AM (GMT)
"I'll give you 2375 GP and a Chocolate Santa to get them now."
Gambit - December 29, 2008 02:32 AM (GMT)
Must...resist...delicious...symbol...
He couldn't help himself.
"Done."
