So...yet another idea comes from none other than Shenny himself! Some of you might be going 'What the crap is a "Winter Formal"', while others might just understand what I'm leaning towards. It's more an IC development kind of thing, no rewards or anything, and based in December and January, for about two months. More because people in NaNo might want to participate too. :P I know we already have IC development from quickchat, but I think this event could open a bit more. Well, if it does become an event at least...

So, for all you people who don't know what I meant, I meant a sort of dance. XD I haven't seen Divergence host an event like this, so I thought it might be a little fun! I've already got a few things planned, like a few locations and all that, but...yeah! If it's not qualified for a full-fledged event, I guess I could either just solo it out or do it with some other people...well, I dunno! XD Either way, I like the idea and I want to throw it out at Divergence, just in case they wanted to join in with the fun. But yeah...two month IC development event for no rewards, methinks.

I actually really like the idea, despite the effort it would take to build up enough nerve to ask another girl to a dance. @_@ Obviously we wouldn't be able to do rewards for it, unless everyone who went got a complimentary gift basket, though we could do a dance-off...

Great suggestions! :lol: But yes, asking another person out to dance would be quite hard indeed, even if it is over the internet... :rolleyes: A dance-off sounds like a lot of fun, yet again, rewards are up to the Mods/Admins who look at this... XD I like those ideas!

Sell tickets?

Give a gimmick key item from it, like a 'Winter Formal (Colour) Rose '08-'09' as a reward. This way if you do decide a dance off you can give out two neat little things, a ticket stub and a rose, alongside a small item paid for by the participants.

Selling tickets for an event is often a poor idea. Things need to be worked over.

Tickets are...none refundable but cheap. Tickets remain a Key item until handed over and returned with a Ticket stub. Tickets are only useable once and for the designated event only.

I've gone over a few things here.

We could always use that idea if people really like that one, but tickets seem like a lot to handle with. Also, fees would be...yeah. But I like the rose idea! It seems like a good key item that some of the players could keep...or something. o.O Yeah, I like the rose idea...the tickets...well, we'll see. XD

Well, Tickets were an idea, if we want an excuse to give out an expensive rarity then there's our scapegoat. What would be ideal colours for the flowers? Silver? Blue? White? ...

Meh, it doesn't matter. XD We shouldn't make a big deal about the small things at this point...I just wanna see how many more people think it's either a good idea or rather some pointless dance that nobody would attend to. :nono:

We could host it, the way Inferno is. It'd be a rather Swordbreakery thing to host.

Well, I think it would be a good idea for this to be hosted by the Swordbreakers, since we have the SB Castle anyways, it would be a nice place to have a formal dance. As far as how it could work, maybe we could have it just be a casual, non-quest-based event. Maybe we can even have a dance event where the best "dance" wins a "fabulous prize" (a basket of body lotions =P).

I think the idea of a dance is intriguing although I do have a couple questions.

It's been a while since we did the last one, so I think this is a good idea. Nice thinking, Shenny. As for being hosted by the Swordbreakers...perhaps all the clans with clan homes that want to host it can put in their bid and everyone can instead vote on where they want it to be hosted?

You can still be the organizer of the dance no matter where its held. Even if its held in Mac Anu itself. I fail to see how that's taking credit away from your idea.

Well, like Shenny said, if we plan on making this a Winter formal, we should probably start deciding on what possibilities we have for where it can be hosted, if there will be any "contests" or things of that sort, and any other small details.
