Oh... I've given myself such a headache researching this and (both using my account and not) I can't find anything to answer my now long forgot questions about the banks. So here goes, since I don't know who to PM about banks anymore either, what's the deal?

Yeah, the banks are more like historic landmarks that remind us of a time when they were actually used. Hell, I don't even remember the banks being used when I first joined, and that was only a year or two after the site had started...

The main problem was people generally didn't borrow from the bank so they never had to pay interest. A lot of people however would deposit money so they could make even more money. Simply put, it was a few people losing money so they could say they ran banks.

Hm...I guess ignoring them is the best option then. A pity really, If run properly it could have done so well...
